Serious Sam 3: BFE

Apr 22, 2026
Serious Sam 3: BFE is a controversial sequel to the культ series. The game tries to bring back the spirit of the classic entries, and it really does capture the atmosphere of old Sam: large-scale firefights, waves of enemies, and the familiar chaos on screen. However, in practice, the project quickly becomes tiring. The gameplay and locations are far too repetitive, the difficulty ramps up too sharply, and the story is practically nonexistent. The final boss, in particular, leaves a very weak impression and feels like one of the most unsuccessful moments in the **** the same time, for a 2011 release, the game can boast fairly vivid and attractive graphics.Prosthe spirit of old Serious Sam;fairly beautiful and vivid graphics for 2011;the franchise’s signature large-scale waves of enemies.Consrepetitive gameplay;repetitive locations;very sharply increasing difficulty;complete lack of story;one of the most terrible and absurd final bosses.Score: 5/10

Beautiful, polished, and surprisingly engaging.Right off the bat — Stellar Blade was a really pleasant surprise for me. It’s one of those games that grabs you not just with gameplay, but with how it looks and runs. Visuals & Main CharacterThe first thing that stands out is the main character. Her design, animations, and overall level of detail are top-tier. You can tell the developers put a strong emphasis on visual appeal — and it absolutely pays **** graphics overall are crisp and vibrant, with great effects and well-crafted environments. At times, you just catch yourself stopping to look around. ️ OptimizationHuge credit for the technical side. The game runs extremely smoothly — no stutters, no frame drops, just clean performance. These days, that alone deserves praise. ️ Combat System (Personal Experience)This was my first experience with souls-like mechanics, and at the beginning, it was pretty challenging. The game punishes mistakes, especially if you try to brute-force your way **** once you get the hang of timing, dodging, and parrying — the combat really opens up and becomes very satisfying. You can feel your progress, and that’s what makes it so engaging. Story & Side QuestsThis is where the game feels weaker. The main story is fairly simple and doesn’t offer anything groundbreaking.Side quests also feel somewhat empty — often more like checklist tasks than meaningful content. Final VerdictDespite a simple story and underwhelming side content, Stellar Blade is, in its own way, a masterpiece. Thanks to: • outstanding visuals • a beautifully crafted main character • near-perfect optimization • and a rewarding (though initially challenging) combat systemthe game leaves a strong impression. My personal score: 9/10.

Saints Row: Pure Trash and AbsurditySaints Row is a well-known series that started out as a GTA clone with gang wars. The game offers a storyline, a decent soundtrack, and a robust character editor. What I liked: • Trash and absurd humor in all its glory (definitely 18+). • A compact city – doesn’t drag on like modern 200-hour giants. • Varied missions. • Car customization. What I didn’t like: • Buggy remaster. • Bland graphics. • Occasional FPS drops. • Ray tracing glitches.Overall impression:This game is certainly not for everyone. It’s something you play when you just want to switch off your brain and enjoy the chaos.Verdict:More “yes” than “no.” But the choice is yours.

Darksiders: Warmastered Edition

User Scoreugarov_jr
Aug 13, 2025
Why It Still Works in 2025 The original 2010 release already stood out for its balance and depth, and the remaster has faithfully preserved the game’s “skeleton” and muscle — from story and atmosphere to the tiniest details and visual polish. This isn’t an attempt to reinvent the wheel, but rather a respectful preservation of what already worked. Story & Atmosphere The story is intentionally straightforward and easy to grasp from the first few hours — no unnecessary overcomplication, but with just enough hooks to keep you moving forward. The tone and world design at times evoke echoes of familiar Blizzard universes (Warcraft and related vibes). Still, Darksiders retains its own identity: original mythology, unique delivery, and a distinctive charisma. Gameplay & Flow The game is enjoyable and comfortable to play: the difficulty curve is friendly, with no sudden “walls.” The core gameplay loop — combat → exploration → small puzzles → boss fights — flows smoothly, making the hours fly by. However, going for a “complete” run with all achievements turns into a marathon for fans, requiring time, patience, and a love for clearing the map. Combat System The hack-and-slash combat is built on readable animations, attack chains, and clear feedback. Combos are not overloaded, yet they leave room for personal style: focus on heavy finishers if you like, or keep it fast and agile with dodges and timing. Battles don’t punish mistakes too harshly but instead reward you for keeping the tempo. Progression & Upgrades The growth system is clear and motivating. Upgrades feel tangible: every enhancement, new ability, or weapon improvement changes the feel of combat and opens access to previously unreachable areas. It’s a classic, satisfying action-RPG progression loop. Levels, Puzzles & Bosses Levels are memorable and logically laid out: you see your goal and gradually “unlock” the way to it. Puzzles are compact, without artificial difficulty spikes, often relying on attentiveness and the clever use of abilities. Bosses are a test of focus — recognizable patterns with moments that require quick adaptation. The Remaster Factor The remaster keeps the original’s core intact — from narrative beats to environmental details — while upgrading the visuals for a sharper, more detailed look. This is a careful restoration, not a redesign for the sake of change: it feels like the same game, but in its most polished form. Who Will Enjoy It • Fans of hack-and-slash and action-RPGs who want fast-paced combat without overly complex systems • Completionists aiming for 100% — just be ready for a time-consuming endurance run • Newcomers to the genre, as a comfortable entry point Final Thoughts Darksiders remains one of those rare examples where the balance between “playability — pacing — atmosphere” is maintained almost flawlessly. Among the many games in this genre, which often fall short of top-tier status, this one stands tall as a confident AAA title with a clear identity. Pros • Balanced combat and clear progression • Strong atmosphere with recognizable influences and unique charm • Careful remastering: faithful, detailed, and free from unnecessary changes Cons • The road to platinum/100% completion is a marathon for dedicated fans • Simple story — those seeking complex narrative structures may find it too straightforward. Tomb Raider

Twelve years after its original release, Tomb Raider (2013) still holds up as a competent and enjoyable action-adventure title. While it barely resembles the classic entries in the franchise—aside from the name of its protagonist—it successfully reinvents Lara Croft as a modern action heroine, framed as a stylish and deadly survivor. The gameplay is fast-paced and satisfying, featuring a mix of traversal, combat, and exploration that fans of the Uncharted series will find familiar (even if you haven’t played it). The game doesn’t overstay its welcome and feels refreshingly straightforward for today’s gaming standards. Visually, while impressive for its time, the game now shows its age—especially in resolution support, which doesn’t even reach 2K. A remaster is definitely warranted. However, the experience isn’t without flaws. The overuse of Quick Time Events (a product of its era) often interrupts the flow of gameplay. The story, while serviceable, leans heavily on clichés and predictable turns, losing tension early on. Supporting characters are flat and forgettable, lacking emotional weight or distinct personalities. Even the final boss encounter feels underwhelming—a scripted event with no real challenge or payoff. Despite these shortcomings, Tomb Raider remains a strong entry in the genre. It’s especially recommended for fans of cinematic action games and, of course, for Lara Croft enthusiasts—this reboot is still very much a must-play. Score: 7.4 / 10

Far Cry 4 is a well-crafted and immersive entry in Ubisoft’s long-running series. Despite being released years ago, the game remains visually impressive in 2025. The Dunia engine continues to deliver stunning environments, especially the mountainous terrain of Kyrat. Gameplay-wise, Far Cry 4 sticks very closely to the formula established in Far Cry 3. There’s a vast open world filled with outposts, wildlife, and side missions — but it lacks dynamic life, feeling more like a checklist than a living, breathing world. Nevertheless, exploration remains engaging, and the core mechanics are as solid as ever. Narratively, the game offers moral choices through faction selection, but these ultimately have little impact beyond altering some cutscenes. The protagonist, Ajay Ghale, is notably less compelling than Far Cry 3’s Jason Brody — more passive and soft-spoken. However, Pagan Min stands out as a memorable antagonist. He’s not chaotic like Vaas, but calculated and charismatic, which makes for a fresh change. There are some gameplay frustrations — repetitive respawning enemies (especially dogs) can be annoying, and navigating the vertical terrain can be tedious at times. It’s also a game that demands time and patience for full completion, which may not appeal to **** fans of classic Ubisoft open-world design and those who enjoyed Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4 is an easy recommendation. It may not innovate much, but it refines the formula and delivers a satisfying experience with a strong sense of atmosphere and personality — something many modern games are lacking. Score: 8,3/10

User Review – 5/10 This DLC from Ubisoft is a bit of a mixed experience. It combines elements from classic sci-fi like RoboCop, Terminator, and Blade Runner, all placed in a setting that feels reminiscent of Far Cry 3 with a slight Halo twist. The visual style is definitely a highlight—there’s a strong ’80s vibe that gives the game a distinct personality. The retro soundtrack also complements the aesthetic very well and adds to the overall atmosphere. Unfortunately, the gameplay lacks variety and quickly becomes repetitive. The story feels minimal, and the characters and dialogue don’t leave much of an impression. It’s also quite easy, which may not appeal to players looking for a challenge. Overall, while it’s not a complete loss and has some entertaining aspects, it doesn’t quite deliver as a full-fledged DLC experience. Fans of the franchise or retro sci-fi might enjoy the style, but others may find it underwhelming.

A Look Back at Ubisoft’s Golden Age: A Retrospective ReviewThere was a time when Ubisoft stood at the pinnacle of the gaming industry. The company’s golden age coincided with the release of iconic titles such as Far Cry and Assassin’s Creed — games that set new standards within their genres. These titles captivated players with richly detailed worlds, packed with achievements, collectibles, and rewarding exploration.Recently, I revisited one of these classics — fifteen years after its initial release. Despite some elements showing their age, the game still retains a monumental charm that’s hard to ignore. Its core gameplay strongly resembles Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, but with a modern setting and a first-person perspective. As expected from Ubisoft, the open-world design shines through. While not overly dense, it remains colorful, engaging, and full of places to explore.Side missions, admittedly, are rather simplistic and don’t bring much innovation. However, that doesn’t make them any less enjoyable. There’s a certain satisfaction in completing them, and scavenging through the world map still sparks genuine enthusiasm. The narrative, although not the game’s strongest aspect, at least doesn’t overstay its welcome. The story features two different endings — with the more optimistic one feeling far more logical and grounded.Among the characters, it was Jason Brody — the protagonist — who left the most lasting impression on me. Surprisingly, it wasn’t the often-praised Vaas who stood out. Jason’s transformation and grit made him a memorable lead — far from the typical timid hero we often see in games. He’s tough, determined, and delivers a strong, charismatic presence.Visually, even in 2025, the game holds up remarkably well. Ubisoft deserves credit for crafting an experience that still looks and feels impressive, even by modern standards.Final Verdict:If, for any reason, this game slipped under your radar, now is the perfect time to catch up. It’s a title that absolutely deserves your attention and leaves a lasting impression filled with positive emotions. As I mentioned before — there was a time when Ubisoft truly had the magic.Score: 8/10

Unexpectedly for me, the game was very impressive. This is the best indie game I've played so far. The project has a lot of potential, but there were a number of shortcomings, but the game was completed and made excellent. 1) First and foremost. The game has nothing in common with STALKER, except for the location. All locations are imbued with their Chernobyl atmosphere. Its own color scheme and music, its own perception. 2) Plot and narration. Unlike the same STALKER. This game focuses on love, problems of USSR power, and relationships between team members. That's a plus. 3) The management and shooter mechanics are made simply, but this is not the main thing in the game, here the emphasis is on the story and story, on the atmosphere.I wish the developers to further promote this topic in the sequel, because there are practically no competitors in the Cherobyl topic, this is a free niche. And I definitely recommend the game itself as a very cool and atmospheric sandbox.

Cons.High difficulty from the beginning, and lack of balance as such. There are bugs that ruin the whole game. The plot itself is quite simple, but it doesn’t make it interesting to play. All the scream moments, the darkness, the effect of non-liquidity, makes you play to the end. The main drawback of this game is its secondary nature. You've already seen all this in Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Alan Wake, Bioshock. The developers wanted to cram in the positive experience of all the above games, and a good project was released a few weeks ago, which could have become a cult one, but alas, critical shortcomings finished it off. Alan Wake 2 is a unique game in its own way. More likely not even a game, but like an interactive film. Yes, it is absolutely linear, with a small world, but it has such charm that other games will envy it. Pros (advantages):- Graphics (not without bugs, but the picture is fantastic).- Plot. In the game it is difficult, multifaceted and requires the player’s attention and concentration.- Dialogues. Each dialogue or monologue is drawn out like a book, it’s clear that they worked on them for a very long time.- Cut scenes with real actors. The timing of the videos with real actors is 45 minutes long for a full-length film, this is a separate praise and respect, it is clear that the game is expensive.- Soundtrack 11/10. The best independent track in the game is "Wide Awake" (all tracks were developed specifically for the game from 0). Also a separate rock album from the Finnish band Poets of the Fall (Old Gods of Asgard), harmoniously fitting into the atmosphere of this masterpiece. Remedy will release 2 vinyls separately and I will definitely buy them.- Sam Lake is a genius. Cons (disadvantages, so-called).- Optimization, even on a super-powerful PC - fps will drop in the game.- Sequel (merciless to players) - if you haven’t completed the first part, you won’t understand anything in the second, nothing at all. The game is made so that you still need to buy and play in two parts)))). If you don’t play carefully or read anything, you won’t understand anything either, the plot is very confusing and requires attention.- High difficulty. Here you don’t run and shoot, but run away while shooting back. P.S. Definitely a masterpiece, games like this are rarely released. At least 2 DLCs are still waiting for this part, but the plot still won’t end there.Rating 10/10

Good old game. With beautiful graphics, an interesting plot and good shootings. But alas, there are critical flaws. The game is very corridor, and the locations themselves are not diverse. The first half of the game is clearly stronger than the second. Some characters in the game are simply not needed. The story itself leaves more questions than answers.

Very weak continuation **** game. Very high difficulty, and very ridiculous missions

One of the best killthemall at that time. Beautiful graphics, driving gameplay, good atmosphere. Of the minuses, this is a very simple plot, and the second half of the game is frankly weaker than first.

A cheap parody of Serious Sam. No plot, stupid monsters, not beautiful graphics by those standards, poor sound. There is no atmosphere of Ancient Greece there. I do not recommend.
