EA Sports UFC 6

While the past still looms large and represents a magnificent era, UFC 6 is the best game in the franchise since EA Sports took the helm. Visually flawless and featuring challenging, fun gameplay, it has everything an MMA fan looks for in a current-gen video game. It has its flaws, but they never ruin the experience; the three-year wait was worth every damn second.

EA Sports UFC 6 puts the franchise back on track, offering great gameplay and a good range of modes for fans of the sport. The only downside would be a revamp of the ground fighting, making submissions more dynamic and precise instead of just pushing the analog stick back and forth. The vast roster is also a great draw for old-school fans, although some older fighters aren't 100% faithful to their physique. However, the graphical precision and fluidity of the strikes compensate for this flaw, creating a feeling almost like watching a major event.

EA Sports UFC 6 stands as the most complete and refined installment in EA's UFC franchise to date. Its outstanding Hall of Legends mode, the intensity introduced by the new Flow State mechanic, and a more authentic presentation significantly enhance the experience both inside and outside the Octagon. While Legacy Mode falls short due to its weak narrative, and issues such as recycled animations, career mode grinding, and an uneven roster still persist, the overall package remains highly impressive. It may not be an all time classic, but it is undoubtedly a serious title contender among MMA games.

EA Sports UFC 6 offers plenty for both fans of the single-player experience and online lovers, honouring the legacy of the sport and offering excellent gameplay.

Increasing the technical efficacy for UFC 6 was the next progression for the franchise as it utilizes the tools that EA has been implementing in recent times. Fight Week will keep players engaged along with The Gym, but this feels more geared towards the hardcore UFC fan. There's a lot here for newcomers to start with, but the accessibility features can at least get them engaged initially. The Legacy narrative prologue to Career Mode is narrow, and most of the time in the mode, ends up involving sparring to try to increase traits and fitness prior to a fight. There's much more here that can be added. The game looks and sounds great and the combat remains core. Flow State is a welcome addition, however, if going towards being a fighting game. The menu performance is abysmal and hopefully can be improved as it detracts from doing certain things. The Hall of Legends is a wonderful experience that needs to be implemented into other sports games. Everyone loves a good documentary. UFC 6 improves on the UFC experience over its predecessor and boasts everything that the fanbase could ask for.

EA Sports UFC 6 is perfect for hardcore fans of MMA who just want to get in a cage and fight, assemble their own events, and feel all the things that made them get into the sport in the first place. There's plenty in UFC 6 for you, and the cumbersome menus and lack of real improvement in the career mode(s) probably won't bother you that much. If you were hoping for a complete package where every facet of the series has been upgraded … well, there's always the next one, right?

UFC 6’s incremental gameplay improvements and bewildering stagnation fly in the face of the fact that it’s been three years since the last entry in the series. With annualized sports franchises, you almost expect iterative innovations year after year, but after such a long wait, I expected a bigger bump with UFC 6. The improved character models, graphics, and fighter distinctions are welcome improvements, but when almost everything else feels so familiar or inessential, I can’t help but wonder if EA Sports’ UFC franchise has experienced too much time uncontested at the top.

I think it is really better than the UFC 4 and UFC 5, it has good graphics but the playability could be a lot better like the UFC 3 that we had for example clinch more complex and better. The game itself is not bad, but it is a little bit buggy like your are dominating a ranked fight by far and the other guy hit you with a body hook and you literally go flying to the other side of the octagon and got yourself **** up. The Journey is very bad, it ends so fast and it does not have anything special

Following the disappointing launch of Undisputed, it's time for combat sports games to make a comeback. With new gameplay features and additional game modes, does UFC 6 take home the championship belt, or does it remain the number-one contender? Let's find out.GameplayStand-UpThe striking feels noticeably better this time around. Punches and kicks have much more impact, making every exchange feel satisfying. One of the biggest improvements is how combos flow together. Instead of feeling robotic, attacks transition more naturally from one strike to the next. If you don't like the default feel, there are gameplay settings that let you adjust the striking to be even more **** new feature is a slow-motion dodge mechanic. During key moments in a fight, time slows down, making it easier to evade incoming strikes. While it's a neat idea, I found that it made the game far too easy, so I turned it off after only two fights.Another addition is the Flow State mechanic. Activating Flow State temporarily slows the action while making your fighter significantly faster and stronger. Personally, I wasn't a fan. It made the gameplay feel much more arcade-like than I would have liked. I only used it a couple of times, mainly when objectives required it or when my opponent activated theirs.Despite those additions, the stand-up game is the best it's been in the UFC series. After making a few adjustments in the settings, it delivers a much more enjoyable and realistic **** detail I really appreciated is that fighters finally feel unique. They no longer fight like generic versions of one another. Many of them capture the styles and tendencies they display in the real Octagon, adding authenticity that helps UFC 6 stand out from previous **** is virtually unchanged from UFC 5. Aside from the addition of the new Caged Butterfly position, everything feels familiar. If you enjoyed the grappling system in the previous game, you'll feel right at home here, but don't expect any major innovations.Game ModesFight NowFight Now is exactly what you'd expect. Choose your favourite fighter and compete against either the AI or a friend. You can also customize matches by changing the rules. Whether you want a traditional MMA fight, a stand-and-bang match, or a knockout-only mode complete with arcade-style health bars, there are plenty of options to keep things interesting.ContractsContracts make a welcome return. Each week, EA provides a rotating list of challenges featuring predetermined fighters, match types, and difficulty settings. Completing these challenges rewards you with experience and in-game currency, making it a great way to level up while trying fighters you might not normally ****'s a mode I found myself checking every **** LegacyThe Legacy is UFC 6's new story mode, following the career of Chris Carter from his humble beginnings fighting in a basement MMA gym all the way to the bright lights of the UFC.I was honestly surprised by how short it was. From start to finish, it only took me around three hours to complete.Chris is a talented wrestler whose father was also a successful fighter. Throughout the story, it's clear that Chris feels like he's constantly living in his father's shadow while trying to build his own legacy.Early on, you're introduced to your coach and your training partner, Danny Lopez. As your career begins to take off, Danny grows jealous of your success. After a bar fight involving you, Danny, and your coach, he's kicked out of the gym, setting up the central rivalry of the story.From there, you work your way through the WFA before eventually earning a UFC contract. Between fights, you'll complete training sessions that function almost identically to Career Mode from UFC 5. Unfortunately, there isn't much new **** story is told through occasional cutscenes between fights, eventually leading to the showdown between Chris and Danny inside the Octagon. After that fight, you can choose whether to end the rivalry or continue it.Unfortunately, that's where the story **** me, this mode had so much more potential. It reminded me of Fight Night Champion's Champion Mode, but that game delivered a much stronger story with better writing and more memorable characters. Once The Legacy concludes, it simply transitions into Career Mode, making the ending feel somewhat abrupt.Career ModeCareer Mode returns once again, and it's still my favourite mode in the **** create your own fighter, choose a fighting style, train, climb the rankings, and chase UFC championship gold while attempting to become the greatest of all time.Outside of the fights themselves, Career Mode is nearly identical to UFC 5. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I was hoping for more meaningful **** area that desperately needs improvement is training.

The Career Mode is bare-bones. It’s very repetitive, and pretty much a copy and paste from UFC 5 (and before). You spend the majority of your time training/sparing. Bruce Buffer’s intros are short, rushed and cheaply recorded. He doesnt say your fighter’s name even if your last name is a pre-recorded name within the game. Theres no weigh ins, no interviews, no way to be 3 belt champ. Your look ot physique doesnt change at all as you age. You fight the same fighters OVER and OVER. The CPU is very weak on the ground. After maxing out ground attributes (which is easy to do) you’ll make Royce Gracie look like a novice. It takes a long time to get a championship fight. Tattoos are boring, plain, and THE EXACT SAME from previous UFC games. It takes multiple stuns to KO somebody even if you have maxed out striking stats. Spinning kick annimations are canceled out by weak jabs. Im 17-2 and im already over it. There is no reply value to this at all. Its very dissapointing to say this game comes out every 3 years and we basically have the same game.

EA Sports, please, your game is working terrible. Year after year you release a half complete product. Servers already lagging, shop is not working, leaderboard not open, online matches freezing all day long, bugs, glitches - its not complete game, its BETA!
