The Evil Within: The Consequence

The Consequence is clearly focused on the plot rather than the action it seemed to have. An unexpected ending establishes the basis of an obvious sequel.

A welcome addition to the main game, The Consequence deepens The Evil Within while being satisfying in its own right.

The Consequence finishes with great narrative resources to the story of The Evil Within. Presenting a more action oriented gameplay than The Assignment, this DLC is a must play for everyone who enjoyed the main game.

The surreal story shines over a well-known gameplay scheme. Is not revolutionary, but it will fully satisfy fans wondering what the heck happened in Beacon.

Despite some annoying issues, The Consequence is an engaging slice of DLC to complement The Evil Within's twisted game world.

Once the clunky stealth controls of The Consequence are married to the less than cooperative camera, all that’s left is an idea that never seems to come into proper fruition. The Consequence is a solid mix of stealth and survival horror. It takes what worked in the main game and builds on those foundations to deliver a well-paced, nerve-racking experience. If you have yet to play the DLC, do yourself a favour and do so. You will find yourself making sense of little things that before were senseless and appreciating what little remains of the survival horror genre. ****

About halfway through the main game I grabbed the season pass on sale; shortly thereafter I realized my mistake, I never should have picked up the game in the first place. Evil Within is garbage, it is my personal worst AAA title of this generation so far and has taught me to steer clear of games which I am dubious about. I begrudgingly finished the main campaign and forced my way through the DLC. Truth be told, I can't even remember this add-on, I vaguely remember having to sneak around and perhaps a little light being shed on the ridiculous story. I imagine it was more convoluted trash and the only shining light in this pit of darkness is the voice talent.
