Alan Wake II: Night Springs Expansion

Where some teams would stay safe in their additional downloadable offerings, building on the foundation laid by the full game, Remedy has gone wild. This is exactly the kind of episodic content I’m looking for. While I’m sure the upcoming Lake House DLC will further our connections to Control, I’m glad Remedy took the time to make something wholly unique, which is what that studio is.

The Night Springs DLC really shines in its narratives presented in each chapter and raises many questions not only for Alan Wake, but for Control and even Quantum Break, who enter this great spiral that is the multiverse created by Remedy. The three episodes are fun, bring humor, terror and impress with the quality of the plot and gameplay.

"Night Springs" is a great expansion to Alan Wake II that gives players a few hours of entertaining content with the kind of writing and style that Remedy excels at. It shows off the creativity of the studio, and how committed they are to doing things no other studio is doing. Some people may be disappointed that it doesn't explain the main game's confusing story, though.

Three new stories set in the Alan Wake multiverse, starring alternative versions of familiar faces. Survival horror, unlikely love stories, caffeinated zombie-cultists and meta-humour condensed into three hours of multiverse gameplay, a condensed distillation of Remedy's signature madness.

All in all, Night Springs is a short excuse to revel in the oddities of Alan Wake 2 and Remedy. Whether it’s comedic, horror-tinged, or genre-hopping, the developer is just having loads of fun with this DLC. We’d love it to be a little longer, or perhaps even include another episode or two, but what’s here is a reminder that Remedy is one of the most original and unique developers in the game right now.

The Night Springs DLC expands on the rich and interwoven storyline of Alan Wake 2 in a truly unexpected way. The trio of different stories bring their own protagonists and their own approach to gameplay. In some places it's more of a classic approach, in others it's a novel mix. It's a must for fans, but don't expect any definitive answers to your questions.

Night Springs expansion surprised me a lot. I was expecting to play as Saga or Wake, but Remedy show once again they can be super creative. Amazing DLC worth playing a 100%

I finished the Night Springs DLC.I still remember playing the first Alan Wake and how those TVs with the Night Springs show used to scare me. Episode 1 – Fantastic! I really loved it, even though it was short. 10/10Episode 2 – It started off with a great atmosphere, but the execution was terrible. You just keep running back and forth from one corner to another. 3/10Episode 3 – Something unusual and imaginative. I liked it too, but not as much as the first episode. 7/10. There weren't enough enemies, although the atmosphere was so creepy that I was actually afraid to walk around. Because of Episodes 1 and 3, I won't lower my overall rating. I definitely recommend buying and playing the Night Springs DLC!

Much like the actual game it is a DLC for, Night Springs isn't particularly fun or engaging. Felt bored playing through it, and the suspense/horror was non-existent.

Je jeu est tellement bugué que je l’ai arrêté au bout de 6/7 heures de jeu. J’étais bloqué dans le métro parce que j’avais trouvé un bout de l’intrigue principale avant un autre, ce qui a complètement flingué le jeu : je n’ai pas pu aller plus loin a cause d’un seul petit écho que je n’ai pas pu capturer parce qu’il est là sans l’être. Impossible de revenir avant mon «erreur », je recharge le chapitre d’avant (4h de jeu avant) et la c’est tout le système de l’antre de Saga qui bug. Faut tout recommencer et flemme en vrai
