Mileage seriously varies in terms of the funny here. If you don’t laugh at one bit, don’t worry, because another dozen or two will come flyin’ atcha in a minute. But every time Faris and Hall are onscreen together, Scary Movie comes the closest to hitting a groove.

Do you like Scary Movie!?… Well, there’s a new one and it’s got some funny stuff in it, but just not enough in terms of how many jokes land and how many are duds.

Scary Movie 6 is a welcome return to the chaotic, anything-goes comedy that made the early entries in the franchise so memorable. Leaning unapologetically into its roots, the film delivers a fast-paced barrage of jokes, pop culture references, and outrageous set pieces that rarely pause long enough for you to question them—and that’s very much the point. One of the film’s biggest strengths is its cast. The returning performers slip effortlessly back into their roles, bringing a sense of familiarity and chemistry that carries the film even when individual gags don’t fully land. Their timing and commitment elevate the material, turning even the silliest moments into genuine laugh-out-loud scenes. It feels less like a reboot and more like a reunion, and that energy is infectious. The humour is broad, unapologetically crude, and often absurd, but it knows exactly what it is. Rather than chasing clever satire, Scary Movie 6 embraces a more playful, nostalgic style—riffing on modern horror hits while still delivering the kind of over-the-top parody the series is known for. Some jokes are hit-or-miss, but the sheer volume ensures there’s always another punchline just around the corner. Visually, the film is sharper than you might expect, with surprisingly polished recreations of scenes from recent horror films. These moments add an extra layer of enjoyment, especially for viewers familiar with the genre, as the film gleefully pokes fun at both classic tropes and contemporary trends. Ultimately, Scary Movie 6 isn’t trying to reinvent comedy—it’s trying to make you laugh, and quite often, it succeeds. It’s loud, silly, and deliberately ridiculous, offering an easygoing cinema experience that doesn’t demand much but delivers plenty of entertainment in return. For fans of the original films or anyone in the mood for a carefree comedy, it’s a fun and nostalgic ride.

Its comedy perfection. If you love to laugh and you love horror movies this is made for you. From the expert script, spot on parodies and overall there's a good new joke almost every minute. There's a reason there are countless sequels, the original is hard to beat. Cindy & Brenda 4EVA!!

It feels good to have the Wayans brothers back where they belong, even if Scary Movie isn’t quite up to the level of the first film in the franchise. While it maintains that film’s strengths, the humor doesn’t feel as fresh as it once did. For all their willingness to offend, the Wayanses don’t have anything to say with their jokes, rendering them toothless.

Most of its gags require not surprise but surrender. Because while some dumb jokes are (as noted) funny the first time and never again, on the opposite end of spectrum lie those bits that are funny only after the fifth or sixth or 11th time, at which point the comedy comes not from any inherent wit but from the doggedness of the teller. We laugh because we’re defeated.

It’s an unchallenging stinky old sweater of a movie, which might be deeply unfashionable and unappealing but reminds you of the days when you could smoke inside pubs and people used landlines.

The only welcome and consistent source of delight is whenever Hall gets to pop up onscreen, to squeal or beam in a way that is always funny, and enough to briefly take you out of the bit she’s trapped in.

Watching seasoned older comedians target the young for caring too much is bad enough, but seeing them miss even their softest targets makes Scary Movie the most embarrassing movie spoof since Scary Movie.

Reminds me of the past. It's a gem of the past. And it absolutely makes fun of the modern day.

It was a decent one watch of a franchise sure to make you laugh a few times. The story was an absolute mess but there were many times this had me laughing out loud. It's hard to REALLY mess one of these movies up.

The whole movie was made out of jokes from the old movies, there where some good jokes but the whole movie was like a overstimulated malcolm in the middle episode
