Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition5
Jun 17, 2026
Initially starting this game I thought it looked decent for a game from the Wii U era and it did hold a solid framerate on the Switch 2 hardware. Opening cutscenes and prologue got me intrigued. When the game finally opened up and said go explore, I was confused. It took me a minute to figure out what to do and where to go but once I understood what the gameplay loop was it made sense. This is one of those games that you play for the journey and not a grand narrative. Combat is okay and exploration seemed good but not great. I have to say the music in new LA was awesome though and I wish that was my battle music for every encounter. Overall this game is not really what I was hoping it to be. It started strong but once I got into the core gameplay it just felt kind of boring and somewhat janky to me. If you enjoy that type of game where you just get lost in exploration this could be a recommendation but I just feel there are better games out there to invest your time in.

Little Nightmares III: The Backstage7
Jun 13, 2026
This is a fun DLC with great atmosphere and sound design just like the base game. The main downside is your AI companion. I remember them being random at times but on multiple occasions I found myself saying, "What is this guy doing?" For the most part co-op puzzles did work but I found that the ai companion lacked urgency when facing the enemy which was very frustrating. Overall though if you enjoyed the main game this offers a fun experience with connections to the story.

Little Nightmares III8
Jun 13, 2026
Maybe not quite the peak of Little nightmares but this is a serviceable entry that brings some fun environments and some new gameplay mechanics. I'm split on the constant 2 player puzzles. At times it works flawlessly and other times I wish it was still a solo experience. I'm sure my opinion would change had I played this with a friend. Atmosphere is great as always and sound design is a beautiful ASMR nightmare. Overall this is a solid entry in the Little Nightmares Universe.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth10
Jun 6, 2026
Another beautiful entry in this trilogy, Rebirth does everything right and improves on the fantastic combat system in place in Remake. Characters new and familiar have fantastic depth. Music is absolutely peak as it was in remake. There is huge maps to explore and tons of side content to complete. If you're a completionist you better set a lot of time aside before you start this entry. This is the right way to do the middle entry in the trilogy and sets up what's going to be an amazing finale.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade10
Jun 6, 2026
I have never played the original FF7 and this was my first real exposure to the characters and story. This is such a fantastic game. Characters are instantly lovable and unique like many Final Fantasy characters. Graphics are absolutely beautiful and the combat is a great blend of turn based and real time action. Integrade was a great addition to introduce a new character as well as bring this game to modern consoles. This is the way to do a remake of a beloved game and an even better way to kick off an epic trilogy.

The 7th Guest Remake8
Jun 6, 2026
I played the VR version of this years ago and that was so immersive and felt like I was in an eacape room. This is more or less the same version with certain things changed to accomodate flat screens. Graphics look fine and fps is solid. Puzzles are great and I really appreciate how they had each room be its own separate set of puzzles. Each room acts as its own mini escape room. There is a very generous hint system as well that will auto complete puzzles if you are completely stuck otherwise most puzzles are self explanatory and with a little bit of thinking you'll be able to complete every one. I never played the original but have liked the story and gameplay in this remake and hope they end up making another one in the future.

Hades II10
Jun 1, 2026
Hades was probably the first roguelite I ever rolled credits on. Typically because I have either hit a roadblock or just got bored of the gameplay loop. They were absolutely masterful with every aspect before and they did the same with Hades 2. It expands on the universe and the story from the first game but does a great job of allowing you to play it even without playing the first. I highly recommend playing both though. I got this originally because the PS5 version did not release at the same time and I am not disappointed at all. The switch 2 handled this flawlessly and looked great, with the added benefit of being able to play whereever I wanted. Combat is absolutely crisp and innovative from the first entry. Visuals are as beautiful as ever and sound/music maintains it's high level of quality. Characters and voice acting are phenomenal. There's really nothing bad I can say about this game so go buy it and play it.

Hades II10
Jun 1, 2026
I originally bought this on Switch 2 due to the timed exclusivity but am so glad they did not wait long to bring it to PS5. The game is so good of course I double dipped. There's not really much to add that I didn't already say in my Switch 2 review. I just hope they continue with more roguelites because both Hades games have been masterpieces.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard8
May 31, 2026
I enjoyed my time with Dragon Age: The Veilguard probably more than most. The character creator was good and animations seemed to fit. Story was decent, not the best but also not the worst. Plenty of side content available to explore. Combat is probably its biggest strength as its very cohesive. I tried out all three classes and they all felt unique. Visually the game looked great. This is a solid experience and I don't believe it deserved all the hate it received.

Borderlands 4: Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned7
May 30, 2026
Average story that I honestly had very little investment in. The gameplay is still there though and carries the DLC on its back. Same as before, good open world and lots of side content. I just did not gravitate toward this story line like the main game.

Borderlands 48
May 30, 2026
Here for a good time, not a long time. I enjoyed my playthrough of Borderlands 4 mostly. It did tend to get a bit repetitive toward the end and dialogue and side quests were hit or miss. The world was fun to explore and had side quests or things to do pretty much every couple of minutes. Gunplay is where this game excels as usual. Guns are varied and action is chaotic. It's very easy to just get lost in the gameplay and realize hours have gone by. With that said now that I've completed the main story I don't feel a lot of incentive to continue playing as I've gone through what I wanted and the end game doesn't really interest me. I am looking forward to new characters and story DLC though and will happily jump back in for that.

Mina the Hollower8
May 30, 2026
I almost talked myself out of playing this game because of all the hype surrounding it but there was something about it, I just needed to try it. I'm not the biggest fan of 8-bit nor do I have much nostalgia for it but visually this is very charming. Immediately starting the game I noticed the background music is an absolute banger. This game is unapologetically difficult from the start and does not hold your hand. Be prepared for an old school, figure it out on your own experience. I got to say I'm very much used to at least a little direction on where to go or what to do and I found myself just going around in circles for hours. The variation of the traditional "lose your currency where you die unless you can pick it up" is a fantastic addition to help mitigate some challenge. In this game instead you lose a spark when you die but keep your currency unless you die a second time before retrieving your spark. The movement is very deliberate and you will find yourself dying a lot until you figure out how this game wants you to approach combat and what your limitations are with the platforming. Your attacks are also limited to directional inputs so no diagonal attacking which feels okay in the beginning but as I was reaching the conclusion I grew to really dislike it. This game is challenging but offers a lot of options to either make the experience harder or easier, just know trophies are reportedly disabled if you use these modifiers. I honestly went into Mina the Hollower with every intention to dislike it because these games typically aren't my thing but the blend of Soulsbourne and NES/Game Boy Legend of Zelda had me intrigued. Overall this is a good old school experience that has some great ideas, just know some frustration will inevitably come with it.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of Giants7
May 30, 2026
If this was packaged in with the rest of the game it wouldn't seem so bad but as it stands as a DLC it's rather lacking. It still has the same great gameplay and puzzles as the base game but has a rather uninteresting story. It's still more Indiana Jones which I thought was a phenemonal game but this should have just been apart of the launch day content.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle10
May 30, 2026
I really enjoyed this game on PS5 Pro. It looked and felt absolutely amazing. Gameplay was very fun and immersive and makes you feel like the legendary Indiana Jones. Troy Baker does a phenomenal job at sounding just like Harrison Ford. Exploration and actually following leads and deciphering puzzles by yourself feels very rewarding. Combat was simple but enjoyable. Overall this is an insanely fun game that feels like watching an Indiana Jones movie at the same time.

Marvel's Spider-Man 210
May 30, 2026
Three Spider-Man games, three absolute bangers. Being able to use both Spider-Man was as good as I thought it was going to be. They both feel distinct and have unique animations. Combat is just as good as its been in previous games. The side content, collectibles and the main missions are all so engaging and hits my inner nerd that I just loved absolutely every minute of this game. Insomniac is so good with their attention to detail is astonishing why more studios don't do this because we notice when they put in the extra work. Visuals are absolutely stunning on PS5 Pro and has 0 dropped frames. Music is fitting and epic when it needs to be. Not much more to say besides this is an absolute blast and if you haven't played it yet, what are you waiting for?

Stellar Blade10
May 30, 2026
Perfection. Visuals in this game are absolutely beautiful and the soundtrack slaps. I figured Stellar Blade was going to be good but I literally dropped all other games to 100% this. Originally I didn't think I was going to get the Platinum for this but exploration is so rewarding and combat is some of the most fun ever. On top of all this the plot in this game is absolutely perfect and keeps you coming back for more. Seriously though Stellar Blade makes you feel like a bad ass from start to finish. The developers also deserve a lot of credit for all the post launch support. I can not wait for what they develop next.

Gran Turismo 710
May 29, 2026
Fantastic driving simulator as always. Cars look absolutely pristine, even better than in real life. Cars feel and sound like their true selves for the most part. Dualsense feels great to use and there is an option where you can use your controller as a steering wheel. It's not the most precise but is very fun to use and is what I played with since I did not have a steering wheel. The menu system seems to be this game's main career mode and it's serviceable. It does ensure that you are trying out a lot of different cars which I enjoy. Driving school returns and is challenging to get all the golds but is a huge accomplishment if you can complete them all. They have a new game mode where it incorporates music into the challenge which is a nice change of pace. I don't really want to touch the whole microtransaction thing but i'd prefer that they did not have that in place. Overall you're getting a high quality racing sim game that will eat up 100s of hours.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition8
May 29, 2026
I remember when this game first came out and I instantly fell in love with the grittier Lara Croft. This was everything you wanted from a Tomb Raider Game with modern graphics for the time. Combat and stealth mechanics were engaging and fun. Finding the collectibles was basic but rewarding. Story was good and laid the groundwork for the rest of the trilogy. Overall this was a very good and fun experience that was obviously held back by technical challenges from being made for the PS3 and PS4.

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King9
May 29, 2026
The second best expansion in my opinion. The zones are iconic and music is great as always. Oh it also features probably the most nostalgic inducing song of my time with WoW. Just go to the Grizzly Hills and close your eyes, that'll make grown men shed tears. A lot of nostalgia for this game and great memories. This was the last expansion I invested a ton of time in and whether that's because the expansions got worse or I was investing my time elsewhere is up for debate. The dungeon finder was introduced and although its probably one of the greatest QoL changes they could implement it was the start of the end of that true WoW community feeling. I did not get nearly invested into this game as I did with BC and that's probably due to my friend group dropping the game. I still hold this expansion in high regard for what it was able to accomplish with one of the greatest WoW characters, The Lich King.

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade10
May 29, 2026
The Burning Crusade was where I truly started with World of Warcraft and got addicted to this world. Back in 2007/2008 I had all the time in the world to level up, grind for gear, pvp and raid. It was also the peak of social WoW, at least for me. This was a simplier time when dungeon finder wasn't a thing yet and you only saw people on your server. This created a sense of community where you saw people you knew or did a dungeon with just out in the world. Class balancing wasn't perfect but it was a step up from what I later experienced in classic. There was so much to do and everything felt like progress toward a great reward that you could show off in Orgrimmar. Some very iconic dungeons and characters are featured in this expansion like my favorite Illidan Stormrage. Music for zones is always fantastic and with the amount of time I spent in each I could hear the first few beats of the zone music and instantly be transported back in time. I know I am very biased when it comes to this expansion and although it had its fair share of issues it was my favorite by far and the one I spent the most time in.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree10
May 29, 2026
Fromsoftware absolutely nailed this DLC. A whole new area to explore and a balancing system that makes it so no matter what your level is you don't just steamroll through it. Not much more to say besides this is more Elden Ring which was already a masterpiece.

Elden Ring10
May 29, 2026
The very best Fromsoftware game to date. Visuals look great, story/lore and atmosphere is top notch. Exploration is extremely rewarding and has plenty of callbacks to past games. Boss design is still best in the genre, weapons are varied and that one more try mentality is at its absolute peak. Luckily if you stumble on a late game area you can always just go in another direction. Fromsoftware really did a great job with the open world design of this game and it shows why they won GOTY. This game excels in everything it sets out to do.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy10
May 29, 2026
This is a really entertaining experience. Story is great and the chemistry between the main cast of characters is fantastic like the movies. Visuals are beautiful and obviously the music is top notch and perfectly timed with the combat segments. Combat is fairly easy to master and it's great to be able to see the interactions between the guardians while listening to the typical Marvel banter. Not going to spoil anything but the final boss is absolutely epic and I nearly jumped out of my seat when the music hit. As a Marvel fan and an avid gamer this checks all the boxes for me.

May 28, 2026
I was actually pretty excited for this game and I'll be honest I did not watch anything on it beforehand. I'm sure there's a way to make the whole one button thing work, not sure how but they didn't accomplish that here. It does seem like they tried to make something interesting but it just failed. I had high hopes and thought it'd at least be a fun time but this is just a reminder to watch reviews before you buy.

May 28, 2026
I played this game at launch and oh boy, there's not many games I've regretted buying after 5 minutes of gameplay but this is one. Visuals are horrible, technical issues and bugs galore. Final Fantasy XIV Online: A Realm Reborn5
May 28, 2026
People talk very highly of the FF14 story but then proceed to tell you "oh you have to get through the base game first though and don't think about skipping cutscenes because you will be lost". Hmm, okay. I'm not going to sugarcoat this. A Realm Reborn story is so boring and cutscenes are so bland and stiff. The actual gameplay is fun and having played many other MMOs I very much enjoy the feel of it, even if it is a little slow early on. I do commend the developers by not going the World of Warcraft route and continuing to keep all story content relevant, I just wish they would streamline this or redo some major cutscenes to make it on par with future expansions. Unless your someone really looking to invest a large amount of time to get to the good story of FF14 I can't really recommend starting this.

007 First Light10
May 28, 2026
Just 20 minutes in and this feels like a proper cinematic 007 movie. Graphics look beautiful most of the time on PS5 Pro. I have noticed some jagged shadows and pop in for objects out in the distance but nothing too jarring and honestly I would be really impressed if this game didn't have some visual hiccups with how good everything looks and feels. You can tell the Hitman DNA is all over this with it's sandbox style approach to missions. This is the best iteration of it in my opinion and geniunely makes you feel like a spy. There is definitely some bugs but the overall gameplay and structure is so good I can easily overlook the technical issues that will hopefully be ironed out in future patches. The gameplay and missions are some of the best and most immersive i've experienced in a single player game. Stealth is done beautifully and choosing your gadgets opens different opportunities for you to take advantage of during your missions. Hand to hand combat is awesome and reminds me of how smooth and realistic feeling TLOU Part 2 is. There is an entire second game mode aside from the main story that features hitman like simulations with plenty of unlockables and reward structure. Ultimately there is some technical issues that I noticed occasionally, some games are hindered by this but 007 First Light is so masterful in every aspect it becomes a non issue. Fantastically epic and fun set pieces this game feels like a 007 movie with the world class sandbox level design of the Hitman Series makes this a true contender for GOTY.

World of Warcraft Classic6
May 27, 2026
This is an extremely difficult game for me to put a number on due to the astronomical amount of nostalgia I have for it. So this will be strictly off my most recent experience of getting my undead mage to 60 in hardcore mode. There's something about trying to play this game without dying that reveals how broken, repetitive and sometimes plain boring this is. At the same time it shows how powerful knowledge of the areas and enemies can turn you into a tactical min-maxing monster. Story in the traditional cutscene sense is non existent but where this game excels is lore and world building. Combat depends entirely on your class and which talent tree you plan to go down, spoiler alert: in classic there's usually one specialization that is completely useless. Graphics are subpar but this is a game that's 20+ years old. Music is iconic and brings back all those good memories as a kid playing with my friends after school. Quests are bland and repetitive, kill x of this, collect x of this. Dungeons are fun and engaging and also tickle that nostalgia itch. Dead mines alone brings back so many memories. I realize coming back to this game now is less about enjoying it for what it is and exploring. It's now a min maxing world where I must find the fastest and safest routes to 60, which does bring a different type of fun and pride with each level I achieve. Overall this is a game that does not stand up to today's video games but at release was the most dominant MMORPG on the market. I don't honestly think I could recommend the classic version of WoW to anyone unless they are into very slow burn grindy games but for those that do there is a lot of rewarding and memorable gameplay in this great world Blizzard created.

Hogwarts Legacy10
May 26, 2026
This game is like a dream come true for Harry Potter fans. I enjoy Harry Potter and the world but i'm not the absolute biggest fan. With that said this has some fantastic fan service and even as a casual enjoyer of the IP it pulled me into the world and I loved every minute of it. Collectibles, puzzles and other open world activities are present which is very much welcomed. Exploring places like Hogwarts and Hogsmead is so fun. Combat is great as well with some engaging systems in place. The lack of Quidditch is also a massive disappointment, especially when they spent so much time working on a standalone quidditch game that would have been a great addition to this game. I won't knock them too hard for this though because flying around on your broomstick was a blast and they did have some other content that challenged your flying mastery. Overall Fantastic game for both fans of the IP and those who just want a vast open world to get lost in.

God of War: Ragnarok10
May 26, 2026
Absolute masterpiece. An epic, emotional story fit for the movies. Lovingly crafted Open world with all the side content goodies you'd want to extend this beautiful game. Visually it is one of the best looking games with world class sound design and music that fits every scene perfectly. Combat is fantastic as usual and Atreus sections, maybe not quite as fun as Kratos, is a nice change of pace to the brute force style we love. Plenty of challenge if you want it and if you thought the Valkyries were hard from the first game buckle up. Absolutely my GOTY from 2022. God of War: Ragnarök shows you what true AAA and next-gen gaming is.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight10
May 25, 2026
A fanastic addition to the Arkham games even though its technically its own thing. The Rocksteady formula is all over this game and I am so happy to finally get another Batman game by them even if it was only co-developed. Visuals are stunning on the PS5 Pro which is something I never really thought I'd say about a LEGO game. Story is a blast to go through and I love the subtle and not so subtle references to not only Batman but other pop culture as well. The combat is your typical Arkham affair which is so fun and engaging and if you have played those titles muscle memory kicks in quick so be sure to play on a higher difficulty if you want a challenge. I didn't engage too much in open world activities as I just wanted to see what happened next in the story but it seems like there was a good amount to do. What I did experience was some fun, quick to complete challenges and puzzles scattered around the world. The LEGO games I've played before have always been average to good games with more recent entries stepping it up in quality and enjoyment. I've been really trying to find some flaw in this game to categorize it with the others but have yet to find one that brings down the overall experience. A true celebration of all things Batman. This is a fantastic Batman game and the best LEGO game I've ever played.

Yoshi and the Mysterious Book7
May 22, 2026
This is a very cozy, low stakes game. Visuals and sound design fit well for what this adventure is about. The "overworld" is very well designed and something I really haven't seen used much or at all before. I have to say I was kind of confused at first because it was so unorthodox but after taking some time to figure out what the game was about it all makes sense. Gameplay is interesting and varied. There's always something new that you're doing and learning about which is a huge plot point in the story. As I was playing through this game I found myself wishing some of the level design was like older entries, it felt like every new level had some gimmick attached to it where some were hits and some I was just trying to get through as quickly as I could. Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is actually a fantastic entry point for new or young gamers. It's set up in a way where you can explore as much as you want or as little and still progress through the different chapters. This isn't quite what I was expecting from this game but it knows what it wants to be and did a fairly good job with it. You can tell that a lot of love and creativity was poured into this and I think it'll be a great entry for kids or those looking for a completely chill experience. For me it does get rather repetitive and there's not much challenge to it but I see where they were going with this one and I've played through enough of it to know this is not my favorite Yoshi game but it is a competent and unique one for the right audience.

May 22, 2026
This is one of the first games I played on the Switch 2 at launch and I got to say this was a pretty fun game for a day. Visuals looked fantastic and as advertised framerate was smooth. Gameplay was simple and fast and I enjoyed it quite a bit up until the point I just hit a wall and was tired of the loop. I am glad I played this game cause it really showed off the Switch 2 and has a lot to offer it. Maybe its because of the other Switch 2 games staring at me during the launch window but as quickly as these vehicles went so did my excitement. I won't discredit the game, I had a lot of fun while it lasted.

Mario Kart World9
May 22, 2026
What a great start to the Switch 2 generation and a fantastic Mario Kart game. It adds new features that no other Mario Kart has seen before and driving feels great. I love how characters and your vehicle have stats that will alter your playstyle. I do like how it mixes lap based maps and racing to a destination. The open world is something I would have loved as a kid, sadly now it seems like a great idea to include just not what I'm looking for anymore. I had plenty of fun hours playing this with my wife on release but, while having every intension to play this long term, I found myself getting bored of the gameplay loop. This is a some great fun when playing with family and friends and is a must have for any switch 2 library.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World10
May 22, 2026
This game is absolutely fantastic and the upgrades made on the Switch 2 along with the added content make this the premier Kirby game you need to play. Aside from the different copy abilities Kirby utilizes mouthful transformations that have some fun sections that break up the usual gameplay. Visuals are stunning and framerate is smooth as butter. The original level design is great and if you're playing this for the first time you can experience both the original and the altered levels that come with the expansion one after the other. I have not played a lot of Kirby games in my life but if future entries are going to be this caliber of quality then I can't wait to see what's next.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition6
May 22, 2026
I'm not a big fan of the direction Legend of Zelda has gone for their mainline entries and this is basically more Breath of the Wild. I found the crafting and combining objects to create weapons fun. I'm not a huge crafter so the rest of it, creating vehicles and such, kind of lost me. The powers link obtains does make gameplay this time around more interesting and creates more complexity in the shrines however like in the past game I found myself getting bored when going from objective to objective in the open world. There is a ton of freedom and that is good but I found myself just wanting to play something else while I was roaming the open world. Visually the game looks good and frame rate feels smooth now that it's running on the more advanced hardware of the Switch 2. Weapon durability is still an issue for me as well as a lot of the survival mechanics. Just like I thought about the previous game this can be a great game for some but for me direction they are headed doesn't quite hit the mark for what I want in a Legend of Zelda title.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition6
May 22, 2026
I see the reasons why it is rated so highly and has a near perfect score by critics. This game is just not exactly my cup of tea. For one they basically turned Legend of Zelda into a survival game. It is fun and interesting for a little bit but I have never been particularly fond of these types of games. I like the different weapon options but weapon durability is a huge turn off for me in a Legend of Zelda game. Cooking is very well done and shrines are fun and fairly quick to complete. The map is large and there is plenty to find out in the open world and the freedom to go where you want whenever you want which is great but I have a hard time staying invested. Unfortunately for me this game looks great on the surface but has a lot of mechanics and design choices that do not match my playstyle.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park10
May 22, 2026
Quite possibly the best 2D Mario game available. The wonder seed mechanic is a fantastic addition and improves on what is already solid level design. Bosses are well designed and the ability to play Rosalina in this version is awesome. I didn't engage too much in the Bellabel Park content but I did enjoy the added levels that came with it. I imagine the other stuff is fun with friends however I was playing by myself and had no desire to play with bots. Visuals in this game look absolutely stunning and flows at a smooth, undisturbed frame rate. There is so much extra content in this game it is great value that will keep you busy for a long time.

Mario Tennis Fever8

I am not a tennis person at all but this game made it fun with various rackets, modes and a full fledged story mode. I enjoyed the story mode but it was apparent it was basically a tutorial for all the different mechanics so you could get to the main gameplay loop. I'll be honest I did not get into competitive and I haven't played any co-op yet but the story mode and single player modes were enough for me to have an enjoyable time. I imagine playing with friends would be a blast, either way this was a fun tennis game that didn't make tennis mechanics the main focus.

What a masterpiece. I like these types of games but don't love them. This game however I absolutely love. The setting is perfect as I love greek mythology and there is no better art style they could have gone with. Bosses are challenging but once you learn their attack patterns you can overcome them. Combat is so smooth and satisfying, it's in a class of its own. The gameplay loop is so addicting and even failed runs feel like progress with their brilliant upgrade system. It feels like everytime a run ends and you return to the hub area you see new faces and new dialogue which keeps repeated failed runs still rewarding. This is such a great game that I would say even those who don't like the genre should play.

Grand Theft Auto V10

I've played this game through a total of 3 times now. Once on each console generation from release because of all the "next gen" upgrades they've done. Rockstar is one of the best in the industry for storytelling, gameplay and world building. Graphics still hold up well enough on the PS5. The three playable protagonists are all very distinct and offer very different missions based on their own personal lives which is amazing. Heists are grand in scope and varied to not get boring. Side missions/Strangers galore and not your typical padding, these are all fleshed out and a blast to experience alongside the main story. Characters are so memorable in this game I still think about how great Steven Ogg portrayed Trevor, absolutely phenomenal. I could go on and on about how much this game does right and almost every review out there does as well. The one part I never really got into was GTA Online and its possible I was just late to the train because almost everytime I've tried to play it turns into being chased by some max level dude trying to blow me up. Some people enjoy the online aspect but for me the single player was a masterpiece enough and the flaws of online are not enough to bring down the main experience. Truly recommend this game to any gamer to at least go through once.

Darksiders: Warmastered Edition7
May 20, 2026
Linear levels, stoic tough guy protagonist, hack and slash. These are the qualities of some great PS3 era classics. This Warmastered edition is exactly what I want from a game like this with a stable 60 fps it also utilizes the Dualsense haptic feedback. Dungeon structure is very reminiscent of old school Legend of Zelda. Combat is simple and easy to learn, enemy and bosses easily telegraph their attacks and objectives are easily laid out. For a game like this, this is all a plus. Not every game needs to be a 100 hr, soulslike or rpg experience. Puzzles in this game are interesting and not too difficult but there is a hefty number of them throughout the game and tends to bog down the experience when I was getting toward the conclusion. This isn't one of those games that's going to be GOTY contender and that's okay. Every now and then you just need that good comfort game with flaws from past generations and this is it.

Forza Horizon 610
May 20, 2026
Welcome to Dopamine: The Game. So much is thrown at you from the start and I don't mean just races and world content to tackle. Spins, XP, Cars, TONS of money. This is kind of a double edged sword for me. For one it is fun, you aren't sitting around hoping to get that car you want or grinding for hours till you can play with a certain car. No you get thrown so many cars and so much money I didn't even know what to do with it. I do love this model for the Horizon series but at the same time I wish there was a little more progression to get higher tier cars or maybe not have these premium welcome packs that instantly give you these S1, S2, R tier cars. Again this is not a bad thing because this is what makes this game Horizon but I just personally wish I could have gradually unlocked these premium cars (even if I did pay for it). The game looks amazing on my PC with a RTX 3060ti/AMD Ryzen 7 5800X. It holds a solid 1440p/72 fps on High settings. The cars sound and feel authentic and there's all the different setting to make the game experience uniquely yours. The setting of Japan is a dream come true, absolutely love what they did here. One last thing to add I believe they have removed the unbreakable trees (or at least I haven't run into one yet), which was so annoying in the previous entry. This is absolutely the Forza Horizon you and I love in its best possible form and with added crossplay/cross progression I can't wait to also be able to play this on my PS5 Pro, hopefully soon.

Valorant8
May 20, 2026
I've played this game on and off from launch, invested 100s of hours and climbed the ranks to Ascendant 3. This game overall is a great competitor to Counter Strike but its not the CS killer it was made out to be at launch. They scratch two totally different niches. Valorant's agent system was always great in my opinion. It added some variety to gameplay and feelings of being a special cog in your team that could make or break a site take or hold. This is a free to play game which is great for player population but the main drawback is smurfs and honestly just a toxic community. While climbing the ranks I was consistently getting either matched with or against an immortal+ smurf or someone doing a stupid challenge like shotguns only. When I say consistently I don't mean every match, probably closer to 50% of my matches. This on top of the toxicity in the valorant community is really only rivaled by another Riot game, League of Legends. Aside from this though Riot does do a fairly decent job with consistent updates, balance patches and fixes for the issue I spoke about above. I did enjoy my time with Valorant while I played and have plenty of memories and clips but part of the community that keeps Valorant alive puts a cloud over a great tactical team shooter.

Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut10
May 20, 2026
What a cinematic masterpiece. The story in this game hooks you in from the start and takes you on an epic Samurai tale. Characters are well rounded with clear motivations and fully immerse you in this wonderfully crafted world. Graphics in this PS5 release look absolutely best in class on the PS5 Pro and hold buttery smooth frame rates. Exploration is fun and rewarding. No matter what you're doing in this game it feels like watching a movie. Combat is very engaging with its almost rock paper scissor like counter system and executions are absolutely brutal. Sounds design and music is absolutely phenomenal. If it wasn't for The Last of Us Part 2 being released the same year this would have been the next up for GOTY. This is all before they added a stellar expansion that includes an entirely new island and story that gives you more top quality gaming to experience. 100% give this game a try if you haven't already, you won't be disappointed.

Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition6
May 19, 2026
This PS5 remaster doesn't do anything revolutionary to change the game but it does offer a stable 60 fps. It retains the janky movements and combat and feels like one of those classic ps3 era action games. I wasn't the biggest fan of the gear system or open world when I first played it and although the gear system has grown on me, my sentiment toward the open world remains. I much prefer more focused linear levels for this type of game similar to original god of war trilogy or the first darksiders. There's plenty of bosses here and they are fun and varied for the most part. Puzzles and exploring the open world is the more tedious part of the game which I didn't enjoy quite as much. Gameplay aside I did really enjoy Death as a character but the story as a whole did not grab me quite as much as the first game. Overall if you're a fan of Darksiders series this is a definite play but just know it plays like an older game with some questionable design decisions.

Call of the Elder Gods7
May 19, 2026
I really enjoyed the visual aspect of this game. It offers vibrant colors, varied environments and some cool places to explore. The story piqued my interest initially but started to lose me by the midway point. This was probably caused by puzzle fatigue where pacing slows down quite a bit while working through some of the longer ones. The puzzles were easy to moderate where none of them will keep you stumped for too long but there is a very generous hint system if needed. Overall this was a good sequel and I would definitely recommend this to fans of the original, I just personally didn't fall in love with it.

Pokemon LeafGreen Version6
May 18, 2026
I never played LeafGreen when I was younger but I did play A LOT of red and blue so when I saw this I was beyond hyped. I am entirely biased that Kanto is the best region mainly because this is what I grew up with. Everything about this game is very charming and my nostalgia itch is fully scratched. I will be completely honest and after playing more modern iterations of Pokémon I can say this game is a grind. I am so glad they now offer full party exp sharing because I spent so much time trying to keep my party roughly the same level by just killing the same mobs/ battling the same trainers over and over again. This is the best way to play the remastered version of the original and if you have a tolerance for older game mechanics this is an easy buy, if not well maybe stick with newer entries for the QOL.

Black Jacket8
May 18, 2026
This game is fun. At first I was trying my best to do what would be correct deck building for black jacks and soon realized it was not ideal. After diversifying what cards I went after and what upgrades I did I was finally having successful runs. This is another one of those great roguelite deck builders with an intriguing story and addicting gameplay it just hasn't fully grabbed me yet.
