I can't help but tip my hat to the entire Santa Monica team. The deeper you delve into the game, the more you'll be drawn into the stunning story of a father and son against the backdrop of perhaps history's most horrific war. Throw in some casually endearing humour, great and fluid gameplay, and wrap it all up with an amazing audiovisual experience. [Issue#323]

Thanks to an amazing cast that’s doing an outstanding job, a compelling story told through the eyes of multiple characters, and top-notch combat, this epic and heartfelt journey strikes all the right chord. It’s impossible not to recommend God of War Ragnarok, but just in case you had any doubts, I strongly advise anyone mildly interested in gaming to play Santa Monica Studio’s latest masterpiece.

God Of War Ragnarok is an instant addition to the collection of PlayStation classics, standing as one of the best games of all time. It manages to outdo its predecessor in every way possible and despite some of its issues with its ending and a few plot points feeling rushed, it does not take anything away from the masterpiece this title is. Santa Monica Studio continues to produce excellent and masterful experiences with Kratos, and the door is most certainly open for more.

Well, the story for this game is absolutely immaculate. It is so ridiculously captivating. Gameplay is really fun as well. Overall, I’d say it’s around a 97, but I will round up to 100

I loved the original GoW 1-3 and the PSP games. However, this Game does not feature Kratos, the God of War. It shows a modern, socio political interpretation of the character - that has to struggle with the outcomes of toxic masculinity. Uncreative contemporary main stream writing from the far left. For their heavy political messaging, devs sacrified gameplay, because it is boring as ****, too.

Despite its shortcomings and eagerness to wrap things up, God of War Ragnarök feels like a better game than its predecessor in almost every aspect.

God of War Ragnarok is a beautiful, moving game, no longer purely centered on a father getting to know his son, but also about vengeance, forgiveness and attempting to change both prophecy, and the people we used to be, both of which prove to be equally difficult. It’s almost impossible for me to imagine those who loved the last God of War will not also appreciate this one just as much, minus a lagging stretch here or there, and the fact that it can’t be as transformative as the initial leap from the Greek games.

Kratos' reboot signs-off after just two games, expertly unifying story with gameplay and proving a safe sequel can be brilliant.

The combat is beefy enough to carry you through the slower stretches, but even when you're lopping heads off dragons it can feel like what you're really killing is time. [Issue#379, p.100]

The story is not suitable for teenagers, so it’s perfect! For me it was the game of the year.

I was beyond hyped for it as a massive GoW fan but after playing it I have several problems with the game.First issue is that Kratos completely takes a backseat in his own story. The 2018 game was deeply personal and centered entirely on his growth as a father and his struggle with his past. Ragnarök constantly shifts focus to Atreus and other **** tone is another major problem. The 2018 game felt dark, mysterious, and mythological. Ragnarök often feels overly lighthearted, the writing is just not all there. Characters overexplain the feelings and motivations instead of showing them. Most of the characters are uninteresting and down right **** story feels directionless. After years of buildup toward Ragnarök itself, the game spends huge amounts of time on side plots and lengthy sections like Ironwood, while the actual Ragnarök battle feels surprisingly short and rushed. The apocalypse that the entire saga was building toward ends up feeling like an **** boss fights were good, but nowhere near as spectacular as I expected considering the game had the biggest, baddest Norse gods to work with. For a series known for epic scale, many encounters felt oddly restrained. This was the part where they could have upped the stakes from the previous game, instead they dropped the ball ****'s well known that the game was supposed to be a trilogy and they squished the story into two parts. Important character arcs and major events happen so quickly that they never get the time they need to fully develop. Cory Balrog did not direct this game and you can clearly tell **** yes, after spending two games hyping up Mjölnir, not letting Kratos wield it because it would be too predictable is just a pure copout. What hurts most is that the 2018 game did such an incredible job building mystery, tension, and anticipation. Ragnarok destroyed the mystery of the world and **** any immersion for me.When the credits rolled my soul was crushed. After all the buildup, all the theories, all the anticipation, I just sat there thinking : "that's it?"As a lifelong God of War fan, it was the most disappointing gaming experiences I've ever had.Upvote0Downvote7Go to commentsShare

I'm just gonna be very honest here fhe game looks absolutely amazing, but much of it plays like absolute dog ****, oh your doodging 2 out of 3 attacks? Well then eat the last hit of the boss. Your attacking? Well then wait 5 seconds after the attack before you can parry, I'm playing on give me god of war and the whole parry system is beyond broken, on gmgow difficulty you can expect a soulslike game but without the healing, and without a fast snippy combat system. And once you eat one hit because you can't parry you can't just parry or block the rest in the chain so eat all hits. On top of that you have fights with 20 enemies all attacking you from a entirely different side, and god knows when the attack happens because you can't 100% read it by the red, and if you dodge too early then the ai just hits you as if your a magnet, I really wonder how people are rating this game so high and this is why asian games are taking over they know that in a battle your input chain should just be cancelled by blocks or evades, instead of not being able to do that because Kratos first wants to finish his combo. You see the attacks coming from a mile away, but a enemy decides to attack you after you pressed a attack button and you can't parry anymore. This bs has to stop, there's so many games that are responsive yet the game company that has been making games for ages and has it's own consoles can't even have this.

O jogo desde o começo prometeu muito e estava muito bom jogar até que chega o final. Que final chato, a construção da busca de redenção do kratos foi muito fraco tambem. Não compre o jogo, é dinheiro jogado no lixo
