Call of the Elder Gods is a beautiful, haunting and sometimes funny first-person puzzle game. It has a strong focus on its world and characters, with fabulous writing and lovely voice acting. The puzzles are clever, offering a mix of subtle and more grandiose brain scramblers. If you're a fan of cosmic horror or the Lovecraft mythos, Call of the Elder Gods is going to be a game you'll want to dive into immediately. This is one of the most outstanding games of the year so far, and it's not one you're going to want to miss.

Call of the Elder Gods is a really well-designed puzzle game with great characters and a story that grips you the whole way through. It’s a shame that some of the plot developments don’t continue the whole way through the narrative, but it’s still a story well worth following. I can’t wait to see what eldritch ventures this team will send us on next.

Fantastic follow up to Call of the sea. I love the art style. The puzzles are great, quite difficult without being impossible. The music is subtle but really adds to the Atmosphere. I just wish there was a VR version like Call of the Sea

I played this game with my kids and really enjoyed it. The puzzles are challenging and fun. The story has a couple of really cool twists.

Call of the Elder Gods is a stellar, story-driven puzzle game, but some players could find it lacking in variety.

Call of the Elder Gods delivers a worldwide adventure with a tinge of mystery, crafting an experience which exceeds its predecessor. Aside from some pacing issues, the puzzles, the characters, and the story are elegantly pieced together. I came away satisfied by all accounts. The attention to detail, the excellent puzzles, and strong performances elevate this Lovecraftian adventure.

Call of the Elder Gods wonderfully captures an otherworldly tone and the sense of mystery of its predecessor, which remains a hidden gem of this decade. While its ambitions chip away at feeling as captivating, it's an especially touching sequel to further explore the events of Call of the Sea while still having some rewarding Myst-style puzzle solving to complement a new story that's about finding a sense of closure. Developer Out of the Blue Games' follow-up nails the emotional core of its first-person adventure effort, all while giving its characters and puzzle design time to shine.

Call of the Elder Gods is a very good puzzle adventure game that continues the narrative of the first game and adds some interesting new characters to the mix. At its best it contains some of the most engaging and enjoyable puzzles you’ll find, though there are some dips in quality that drag things down a bit. I would recommend the first game over this for newcomers, but if you've already enjoyed that title then you’ll get a lot out of this too, just don’t expect it to be quite as polished.

A seriously smart puzzle game that rightly foregrounds its elaborate brainteasers, but does so at the cost of coherence in what is a notably more ambitious sequel.

A very solid sequel to Call of the Sea and carries in that narrative puzzle game style. The puzzles vary, the best being a multistage area where the puzzle is essentially an entire chapter of the six. It's very knowing in how it uses the lovecraftian and plays with some tropes and has fun with the genre. Mild criticism from me would be that at times the use of a narrator leads to things being overexplained but it didn't particularly detract from my enjoyment, and at 6 hours to completion it felt like a game which knew what it wanted to do and where it wanted to stop.

Kind a slog to work through, the movement and exploration is very slow and choppy. I found the puzzles to be frustrating and unintiuitive.
