Fever Rackets doesn't disrupt the pace of the game or spoil the fun – it's chaos that reflects its premise and is enjoyable. They've improved the game mechanics, HP is a surprisingly accurate and well-built addition, and the roster is large. Just don't buy it solely for solo play, as the campaign is a glorified tutorial. It also has Nintendo's typical quirks in the online modes – why can't I play ranked doubles with a partner of my choice?

Mario Tennis Fever is primarily a party game that shines the most in local multiplayer and its creative modes, where chaos, power-ups, and classic Nintendo charm fully come to life. The single-player content, while also fun, leaves a weaker impression, as it feels fairly shallow and serves more as an introduction to the mechanics rather than a proper campaign capable of carrying the game on its own.

A fun and highly accessible tennis arcade game that works best as a chaotic party experience. Its well-balanced mix of classic tennis and over-the-top abilities creates exciting matches full of tense moments. However, a weaker single-player mode and lack of long-term motivation mean the fun quickly fades without other players.

I am not a tennis person at all but this game made it fun with various rackets, modes and a full fledged story mode. I enjoyed the story mode but it was apparent it was basically a tutorial for all the different mechanics so you could get to the main gameplay loop. I'll be honest I did not get into competitive and I haven't played any co-op yet but the story mode and single player modes were enough for me to have an enjoyable time. I imagine playing with friends would be a blast, either way this was a fun tennis game that didn't make tennis mechanics the main focus.

It’s a terrible game where everything hinges around the special shots & that alone. No kid would enjoy this pile of trash the way it’s balanced for that. Do better Nintendo

Pretty good game. Mediocre adventure mode but great boss battles in it, love trying out different fever rackets they add a really cool twist to each game, and a bunch of fun unlockables and challenges. Movement feels weirdly delayed though and online needs teaming with friends for doubles ranked.

They say love means nothing to a tennis player but it’s so easy to lose your heart to this spirited slice of sport.

Mario Tennis Fever is pure, unrestrained fun: fast, chaotic, and incredibly addictive. A perfect fit for one of Nintendo's most solid and spectacular sports spin-offs.

If you’re buying a Switch 2 primarily for family play and social sessions, this is a top-tier pick. It’s one of those rare Nintendo titles that comfortably spans age groups: kids giggle and learn quickly; adults find the depth keeps giving. If you’re a competitive player, the ranked mode and crisp core mechanics offer a rewarding ladder to climb, though the lack of lab-grade analytics might push power users to third-party tools for deeper study. In short: Mario Tennis: Fever is easy to learn, hard to master, and, most importantly, built to be played with other people. It preserves Mario’s charm while delivering actual mechanical depth. Whether you want short bursts of chaotic couch fun with your kids, a mini-tournament with friends, or a longer grind in ranked matches, the game gives you all of it with Nintendo’s usual polish. It’s charmingly domestic, deceptively deep, and a multiplayer delight, making it a solid must-play this year. Just ask yourself this: Do I want to fork over 60-70 bucks for a tennis game? Because it’s still a tennis game, even though it’s one of the best tennis games Nintendo has ever put out.

Mario Tennis Fever boasts an impressive roster and a robust multiplayer offering, but its single-player content is thin and the Story mode feels like little more than a red herring. Controller in hand, the gameplay ranks among the best the series has delivered, yet it’s not enough to justify a full-price purchase. Switch 2 needs true heavy hitters, and Camelot’s latest effort ultimately falls short of that mark.

Mario Tennis Fever takes the series another step in the direction of Mario Kart craziness, but it doesn’t quite work as well on the small tennis court. Multiplayer matches provide short lived fun, but the overall experience lacks staying power, resulting in a shallow and uneven entry that fails to fully capitalize on the series’ potential.

Super Mario Tennis Fever delivers a lot of fun thanks to custom racquets with super abilities, vibrant arenas, a strong lineup of fan favourite characters, and surprisingly solid visuals. There’s no shortage of modes either, from themed challenge towers to the much discussed Adventure **** problem is that Adventure Mode is put together in a pretty odd way. It doesn’t really show off the game’s presentation, its core super ability hook, or the full potential of that roster. It’s not a total disaster, but it’s easily one of Fever’s biggest shortcomings. With this kind of gameplay, Nintendo could have built a proper campaign that leans into creative racquets and their abilities. Instead, super abilities only start showing up properly in the back half of the run, and even then they’re rationed out in small bursts, never letting the system reach its potential. A more fleshed out story mode could have pushed this Nintendo exclusive to higher review scores.Still, Super Mario Tennis Fever is a great time, whether you’re solo grinding tower challenges and jumping into online matches, or playing co op with friends and family.

Comparing it to Aces, I’d say it’s a slight improvement. What’s different is that it seems like a more complete game at launch, meaning that there will likely be little to no DLC. That’s fine, and maybe it explains the full price tag. The new mechanics mean that the learning curve is actually a little large for newer players to the series, I would argue. Notwithstanding that, the game can get pretty hectic quickly, so if that’s not for you, you can opt to simply play in a more raw-skilled environment instead. Without giving actual game details and just summarizing it, I’d say it’s not perfect, but still a good entry for series.

This game deserves a good score.I'dgive it an 8 if Nintendo didn't mess up the online play. There's no way to block or report opponents who either have lag or are quitting mid game. This game **** the fun out of it by putting players with different latency against each other.

What is with the fever rackets and the chaos!? It's sometimes too hard to see the ball, so technically this game gets a GU rating (although irl, i'd give it an 8).
