Do you know what I'm going to do after writing this review? Play Hades again - for fun. It's just so damn good. Maybe I'll be able to escape hell, maybe not, but I'll be happy to try again.
As with previous titles from Supergiant Games, Hades features stellar artwork and music, masterfully creating a world of Greek mythology. The fast-paced action feels great, and the roguelike elements create a synergy with the game’s story, resulting in a truly addictive experience.
Hades is a roguelike action RPG developed and published by Supergiant Games. It set a new bar for roguelike games with amazing visuals, character development, and storyline. Hades does have a few minor issues that plague most roguelikes. But these don’t impact the overall experience of an amazingly great game.

I bought the game finaly after hearing what a 10-10 experience this is. It‘s just not, i dont see the combat beeing good or fun, it‘s just so repetetive and i dont see the story being such a focus in an rougelike. The artstyle is very beautiful but also, nothing special. I don‘t hate the game it‘s just meh.

I've played it on PC, purchased on Epic. At first, I was unsure about the genre, but it hooked me in really fast. I love the setting, which probably helped a lot. You can customise your experience. If you find yourself stuck, you can activate god mode and make your life (or afterlife? :D ) a bit easier. The game can surprise you even after tens of hours. Not gonna lie, I'm at about 80 hours and still have more to discover about the characters' relationships, unlocking hidden features, etc. I can absolutely recommend this game for even those who are hesitating to try this rogue-like genre at all, because I can guarantee that you will have lots of fun playing this game!

Hades is everything a dungeon-crawler fan could want out of a game. Its gameplay loop is rewarding and interesting, it's simple enough that there's no skill barrier, it's complex enough that the repetition is a benefit and not a detriment, and all the small details boost the bigger ones. Hades is ultimately the result of when every aspect of a game comes together to form one fun and cohesive experience, and it's a testament to what Supergiant Games can do.

A fast-paced trip of a roguelike. Talk about an ambitious, fast-paced, beautiful, and dare I say, thrilling adventure I’ve ever been on when it comes to playing video games. Hades is the ultimate roguelike fantasy package. It has it all from the amazing fast-paced gameplay, the perfect rhythm of the roguelike structure, the absolute powerful and meta-breaking storytelling that is both satisfying and hilarious to witness, and the best part, it keeps you engaged in a way that not many other games had brought me to love as much as I truly did, and that is what makes it something special. Hades is one hell of a beast. This game absolutely deserves a 10 out of 10, and out of all of the games that released in 2020, this is definitely my Game of the Year for a game that I am absolutely happy to say that I actually enjoyed a lot. Truly one of the all time great indie games of all time. Just special.

Hades stands not only as the finest, most well-crafted game from the exceedingly talented developers at Supergiant but as one of the pinnacles of the genre. If you never looked at rogue-likes seriously before due to differences in personal tastes and what you believe that they represent, this might be the very title to change your mind.

Supergiant Games has done it again. They have managed to perfectly mix amazing storytelling and great action to create another compelling title. Even if you are not a fan of roguelikes you should definitely try Hades out - it’s a challenge, it has a great story, and it’s a hell of a ride.

Live. Die. Repeat. Hades is almost immaculate and with that the makers of Bastion, Transistor and Pyre deliver their best game yet – which is a feat in itself. With its brilliant fight system, the motivating progress and its story Hades pulls and, more importantly, keeps you in.

Hades is undoubtedly another gem in Supergiant Games' crown. Hell has never been so enjoyable and fun.

There’s around eight different forms of in-game currency alone, and enough upgrades and modifiers to give even Euclid a headache trying to track all the variables. However once you fall under Hades’ spell after a couple of runs the near limitless combinations of character builds becomes bewitching.

The game is mid. After beating the cycle one time, I had no interest in replaying it. As such, itll be a short game for most, I think.

Not my favorite kind of game play BUT I really enjoyed the challenge and art and characters too much to fully dislike this game. Im not too big on restarting all the way at the beginning once i get super far if i die. But the game does compensate by allowing you to level up and reward you with tons of upgrades once that does happen. AND providing some cool story too. Its good if you take your time with the game and not try to rush it.

Got it gifted to me after watching two of my friends froth out the mouth over it and uhhhhh it's fine. Sure, the graphics are really polished and the high speed gameplay is really engaging, but the music and voice lines are legitimately so annoying to me that I've just been playing with most of the audio muted. Not to mention, some of the enemies themselves often end up turning the combat into feeling more akin to something like Contra with the infuriating amount of bullets and attacks being thrown at you. Most of the actual gameplay itself is fine, but there's definitely more I dislike than enjoy.

The RNG in this game can either benefit you or screw you over. If the latter you may as well just quit because you aren't going to be able to do anything. Actually the opposite of fun when that happens. Super overrated.
