Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings8
Sep 13, 2021
As a standalone movie, this is great introductionaty MARVEL movie.
But this does not mean movie has no problems. The pacing wasn't that great, The "villain" is not really a villain, he is also not a good guy, although movie tries to show the good in him. His motives can be relatable, I get that, but the actual villain of the movie is quite generic.
What I can give kudos to this movie is that they managed to stay away from shoehorning other MARVEL heroes and rely on them to promote this movie or be a partial reason to see it (SpiderMan Homecoming as an example). Martial arts parts are great! But then....they are turned into CGI-fight. Movie needed more martial arts and less specticle. I feel like there are a bit too many characters **** not enough time for all. Second half is a bit...well, more MARVEL and less Shang-Chi / Martial arts. That is a bummer, i wish i saw more action and less CGI.
But it was enjoyable, jokes worked and definitely looking forward to more.

Let me start by saying how fun this movie is. It is really IS fun. Does not mean it's perfect. In fact, it breaks logic of the premise several times. Love story is cliche, pacing is not well either. But most jokes land, an average gamer would know almost all references here. This is movie for us, but then for non-gamer people this would not work (for example Ready Player One did work and people like my old parents understood it at least and could follow).
The "YouTubers and streamers" part was nice but in my opinion was a bit too much, just show once, we are not here for Ninja's commentary on the movie. By far the best cameos are towards the end. And "final boss" scene was the most fun too. 3.5/5 is fair I think. And I feel it would be enjoyable as well on second viewing later.

Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood4

It's not the best movie from Tarantino. Maybe I don't understand what to enjoy here as it is very long with only 3-4 scenes that are fun and interesting. The rest is very slow and drags a lot. Especially in the beginning, you watch 30 min and it feels like an hour. Nothing was happening. I liked the idea of "movie being made in the movie". But this is not a new concept. What was the reason for Margharet Robbie's character? What a wasted opportunity to have more scenes with her and tie up with main 2 characters. Narrated parts were not needed in my opinion either. I don't know what to feel, movie needs to be not boring to be fun, this is boring....until last 10 min, which was insane. But that does not save the movie.

The Suicide Squad8
Aug 13, 2021
This has to be the "dumbest and most fun at the same time" movie I have seen in a long time. I like the absurdity of it. You are not going to learn any life lessons, it's just fun time with great visuals. James Gunn delivers the comedy. And R rating brings the gore. It's a comicbook movie that some people would love, others would simply not be able to watch at all (like my parents). So it's very specific movie for specific audience.

I am very confused with this movie as well as people who review it.
Yes, it is supposed to be a slam-dunk on people who review movies, so what? Does not mean you have to come here and do exactly what movie says you would do. It feels strangely meta, but it does feel real as well.
It is exhausting, yes, it is supposed to be like this. I did not like the ending because there is no ending, it just ends without resolve. But I really enjoyed 1st and 3rd "arguments" (2nd one was more like a monologue).
This is very unusual movie and not for everyone, I would not recommend this to couples either although I found this movie in a recommendation list of "date night movies". I dont even know what rating to give. Performances are amazing, really good, convincing actors.

Jul 25, 2021
Cheesy, with cliches but quite enjoyable for first 40 min, then it gets very predictable. Humour is good! Didn't like the gluten free part being pushed 3 times.
Its family movie good to watch with kids. Intro and ending montage is nice. Animation is top notch! Production is just great.

Marriage Story10
Jul 23, 2021
This is a flawless movie, I cannot think of any negatives here, sure I wish ending would have been different but it went with more, I guess, realistic ending. Adam's and Scarlett's performance is top class, some of the long takes are just them flexing their pure talent. Movie has few but very strong emotional parts, and I think its hard not to feel anything in those moments... You dont have to be married or have someone to feel it

The Professional9
Jul 13, 2021
This is amazing movie with perfect french directing, really good editing and transitions, shots in general are good and pacing is smooth enough.
The "hate" mostly comes from culture shock of 12 year old posing as 18 year old and really trying to force on the man. You can clearly see that Jean Reno was not acting at the moment when he saw Natalie Portman's character Mathilda dressing up as women. It was shot with first take. And not sure if the role of Leon was supposed to be uncomfortable with this girl, the actor's genuine feeling seem to be exactly that throughout the movie. Gary Oldman is great, too lets no forget :)

Looks like user reviews here either HATE this movie or really like it. Also seems to be nobody reviewed this movie since last user review before me (if you sort by date) was in 2018! Well it's 2021 now and I have to say I mostly enjoyed this movie because it was recommended by someone I really care about and we watched it together. So, I guess a bit biased here? :) On the other hand i probably would have not watched it at all but I am glad I did. It is not an "outlandish" story, quite realistic I believe, so it was interesting seeing how the story unfolded. Acting was great, movie shots were great, too.

Black Widow5
Jul 10, 2021
I do genuinely enjoyed this movie, but it has issues.
Movie starts really slow, and most of first act could have been different.
There are not as many action scenes (lot of michael-bay explosions) and a lot more dialogue than in "typical" Marvel movie. But then this is not really a typical movie, this is about a character that has already been killed off and I do not understand why this movie has not been released 2 or 3 years ago... For those who noticed, yes, there are so called "#metoo moments" in this movie which, I guess is fine for the context, there is not much politics here. Taskmaster is really good villain in general but there is not much about her (uh, spoiler?) in this movie. Jokes are OK, supporting cast is good too but not really enough to build them up. After credits scene is almost not worthy sitting and waiting, you can just read online exactly what happens, no "gasp" or "wow" moment there.
Really forgettable movie unfortunately.

Batman: The Killing Joke5
Dec 30, 2020
I welcome the artstyle and the medium, Batman should continue being a comic book "cartoon" animation movie too. However the problems here were evident. The backstory into current story cliche was unnecessary, I believe movie would have been better if you could change the structure. Overall, story is very weak. One thing happens then suddenly another - without any connection. But, yes, enjoyable, for 1 time.

This is not the best movie ever made, but by far one of the most influential ones. I Really liked the "extended version" actually. It has more "world-building" into it. Story is good, I really have not much bad to say. It is a weird movie but looking back it was ahead of it's time and now can be understood easier. When it came out, it was overrated. But... people still talk about it today, so there must be a reason, reasons!
It was the best looking CGI movie when it came out.
Sure, movie has tons of problems that I would say are "cringy", but have you seen the documentary about it? The impact of this movie still can be seen today. I actually don't remember any movie like this, this is completely original movie, without "MCU-like" setups or part of already set "universe" like James Bond for example. This was the most expensive movie ever made and most successful movie of all time (until Endgame).
And it did not even have that expensive cast like, Endgame.
It has enough interesting things inside than any blockbuster movie.
This is cyberpunk, fantasy, Jurrasic-park-ish and space movie at the same time. Dialogue is good, not boring, pacing is great, not boring.
The characters are really well made. This is one of the few movies that deserve the word: EPIC

Wonder Woman 19844
Dec 27, 2020
I cannot believe I am giving this movie 4/10... the first one was so good, what happened!? Whose idea was this garbage and where do I even start? OK, 40 min in and I already found few plot holes, tons of things make no sense including the villain. Why does he do what he do, what he was trying to achieve? Makes no sense. The "fish out of water" thing kinda wears off real quick and adds almost nothing to the story. The guy from WW2 does not know what fireworks are? seriously? Same with prologue part, has no reason to be there whatsoever.
There is a "teleportation" part in the middle, feels very out of place. And whole scene prior to that could have been easily removed, it adds nothing to story. There is also an anti-hero here that learns and can do stuff just in few hours, makes no sense.
The whole "wishing" thing does not make any sense as well, what if people wish opposite things? Or identical wishes? Bruce Almighty, anyone? (this is not spoiler, it is in trailers) The Ending is not only stretched, (movie is definitely feels 20-ish min too long) but just overall weird and kind of anticlimactic, no cool scenes at all. And everthing comes back to normal like nothing happened. The whole movie feels like it does not need to exist. I am just so disappointed, I had faith in this movie and like 2020, it is a dumpster-fire.

This is by far the worst movie I have seen by Christopher Nolan. Where do I begin? First, maybe let's turn down the music and sound please? My eardrums were being **** in some scenes of this movie thanks to horrible music editing and mixing. It's just too loud.
Next, what was the point of the first half ? I kept asking myself "what's going on? who is this?" and trying to understand the fast-paced dialogue between characters. Critics are praising the acting, I am sorry what? Acting is barely passable level, it's just bland and soulless. No emotional investment at all. Movie tries to explain time-reversing things and people and just fails at it. Bunch of characters are expositions and "you are looking for that guy/girl actually" transitions between dialogues. Compared to, let's say Interstellar or Inception, this movie is just boring and less interesting. There is less visual spectacle (apart from 2-3 scenes) and most of the time you don't understand what is going on. 2h 30 min feels like 4 hours, but ironically if it was 4 hours, probably would have had more explanations and reasons behind stuff that was happening. I saw this movie in theatre (In UK you can, with mask on). Out of 10 people on whole room, only 2 people said they liked it (I came with 5 others who I knew and asked other 4 what they thought). What a disaster.
Other than cinematography and actual non-CGI work put in to create this movie, I have nothing good to say. Really poor.

No idea why it is being trashed by critics, I think most people watching it would enjoy it. It has fun moments, Jim Carrey is amazing and in general, movie looks good. Yeah its not perfect and tons of questions here and there, but for a 1-time movie? perfectly enjoyable!

For me, this movie is simple yet realistic and relatable story which has been beautifully made. Soundtrack is also gorgeous. Johansson is so young here, and cute, it's unbelievable. The husband is total weirdo and I have no idea how they have enough chemistry to be a couple. Murray's character is on another side is super believable. It's just a nice movie, honestly.

I have no idea what is wrong with the critics, but this is not a "mixed" movie in terms of review score. It's quite good, not average. It has a lot of modern UK as well as oldschool references as Guy Ritchie once again shows that he can make great gangster movie when his hands aren't tied.
Great cast! Maybe not all English international or US audiences understand British words in the movie but it is still enjoyable.

Very interesting movie for me who is into banking and finance. Yes it does have own narrative & agenda that is going for, but tries to show "both sides" as much as it can. Is it a must watch or the best documentary about Financial Crisis 2008? No, but a good one nonetheless.

Well. It's good movie, no doubt. very nice shots, well acted and nice work overall, but some writing was kind of lousy, few characters weren't even a real characters. Amazing visuals and spectacle for kids, but as an adult... not really well executed sequel. Story is somewhat predictable, has some funny moments but also some....weird choices. It is like half-musical half-action/adventure.
Elsa is just boring, Anna is so much more interesting character. Christoff's arch is confusing too (did they cut out his parts?). Movie did not justify existence. Also Christof's song sounds a lot like Chicago - You're The Inspiration and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Nymphomaniac: Volume I7
Nov 18, 2019
Such a weird movie. On one hand I have no idea how to review, on another – I always review movies I watch to create a library of my watched movies and "reaction-reviews" afterwards. I am not sure how widespread is nymphomania in real life, but I think this could be interesting for men and women to understand that to some level. Movie dialogue is very mature and of course the movie is definitely not for children. I am not sure what to rate it and whether or not I learned something valuable, but I was curious enough to watch second part after this, which is even harder to watch. 7/10 because it is "positive" review, I am just not sure how to rate vs other movies.
