Greetings from Lithuania. "Groundhog Day" (1993) is a great movie. It is one of those classics that been watched by everyone who likes movies and beyond. The plot here is enginues. Man must relive same day over and over again until he learn to be ... good to others. It is such a wonderful premise and idea that I later was re-used in many movies and TV shows. Writing and directing by Harold Ramis was flawless - for me this is his best work. At running time 1 h 38 min this is an excellently paced film. Great acting by Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell. Overall, "Groundhog Day" is a classic for a reason. It has unique and great premise, very good script, great performances and the the top notch directing. This film has stood the test of time and it is an superbly rewatchable film. Great movie.

One of the best comedies of all time ! Witty and thought provoking with Murry at his best.

That glimmer of recognition is what makes Groundhog Day a particularly witty and resonant comedy, even when its jokes are more apt to prompt gentle giggles than rolling in the aisles.

TV Guide Magazine
Seeing it once is fine, but seeing it every day for the rest of your life is not recommended.

There were a lot of ways for this film to go stupid; it succumbs to none of them.

Washington Post
With its zany daily episodes, "Groundhog" gets stuck in a non-progressive repetition.

Chicago Reader
Considering that none of the characters is fresh or interesting, it's a commendable achievement that the quality of the storytelling alone keeps the movie watchable and likable.

It's good but not brilliant seems rushed in the last few parts and ruins it slightly.

I kind of feel guilty because I didn't like this movie more than I did. "Groundhog Day" is an instant classic and I would obviously recommend it to everyone, even though it was just "good" and not "great" for me personally.

So-called comedy starring Bill Murray who's too old. He's a weather reporter who has a big chip on his shoulder and isn't at all happy about having to report on a groundhog that can tell the weather. But he manages to get thru the day without any major upset. That's where the movie should end. Could've been a 10/10. But the writers must have run out of ideas and then pretty much told the same story again and again. It's pretty much a scratched record of a movie.
