A pure masterpiece! The critics are ****. Here is what the game is like - Nier Automata, Dark Souls action difficulty, and story like JRPG! It does take time to get used to controls and etc., but once you get going it's a blast! Graphics 10/10 Story 10/10 Characters 10/10 Controls 7/10 Music 10/10 I heard Stellar Blade 2 - Bloodrain is being worked on. This is an easy Game of the year!

It's better than Hollow Knight but frankly the same stuff.. I do NOT know why people rave about this game? I will have to keep playing to see..

Game of the Year! JUST GO BUY IT! It's a MASTERPIECE! 30hrs and super addicted. Last year Metaphor Refantazio was my Game of the Year! I thought it would take years before something as good would come out.. And this is Final Fantasy in modern turn-based RPG gaming This small developer with a team of 30 people outdid themselves.. I rarely purchase day 1.. I wanted to support this game so much, I also bought a PS5 physical version! It's literally what modern Final Fantasy should have been in today's turn-based gaming! Graphics - 10/10 Sound/Music 10/10 Gameplay 10/10 Story 10/10 Characters and development 10/10 = Masterpiece *I have very small gripes about the game - more character customization, need a small mini map walking around and less intricate enemy attacks. This small studio outdid itself! 10/10 - Masterpiece!

I played the Demo and while that was ok the full game has been awesome. I am a PERSONA and SMT fan.. I have played PERSONA 3, 4 Golden, and 5. Cleared them all and my Favorite is 4 Golden in the Persona series. I love SMT as well considering it's the DARK Souls of Turn base combat style. SMT IV was amazing but I loved SMT 5 on Switch as well. Frankly, I had more fun with this game than FFVII Rebirth. I prefer and love the turn base combat style but the Action base is exactly how it should be done. In my opinion this is my GAME OF THE YEAR and Here is how I would outline my perfect 10 rating. Graphics - 10 Story - 10 Gameplay 10 Sound/Music 10 Overall SCORE 10/10! Atlus is my favorite Publisher and enjoy Persona, SMT, and now Metaphor Refantazio!

This game is the most under rated game this year! Already cleared the story within 10hrs, but with over 150hrs of trying to build my charactera and go after the final end boss - Lucilous! Grinding away to get to the final weapons (Terminus)for each character has been great! I have been playing online with other people trying to fight the last end boss! It's been great. It's freaken awesome and amazing! The graphics are beautifully done and probably the best action Anime JRPG out there! The gameplay is super fun and great combat system with skill tree! I playing rebirth and I like this game better in terms of action gameplay. The story or characters isn't as tight as FF Rebirth but WOW Granblue Fantasy is the most under rated JRPG out there! Absolutely addicting and best bang for your buck! NO microtransaction! And the updates ALL been FREE! This is literally the most underrated game right now! I can't believe people aren't talking about this game! The Characters are amazing and the music is great! I think this plays like a tales game but BETTER! Gameplay 10/10 Story 9/10 Graphics 10/10 Music 9.5/10 Overall 9.5/10<

I have played the Orginal Final Fantasy on NIntendo back in 1987!! I played virtually all of them but not cleared them all because some are amazing and some are not! Final Fantasy Remake 7 (part 1) was good but not great! It was missing something and I couldn't put my finger on it until i played Rebirth!! I was worried 7 Rebirth would follow and have same or similar misteps of 7 remake! I have two criticism about the game - 1) You can not fast travel once you move to the next geographic area unless you complete some side quest. 2) Final end bosses I spend too much time healing my main character or other party members rather than focus on fighting - I wish there was a way to automatically heal after certain %. I would like to say that Rebirth has Brought my love for Final Fantasy back! This is what made Final Fantasy fans remembered what made this series and franchise great! It took over 20yrs to come to this point! I am sad because other Final Fantasy fan and players started to give up on this series!!!! But I want to rest ASSURRE every Final Fantasy player who grew up playing 6 (snes3) to 7 on Playstation to 9 and 10 in the series will fall in LOVE as they did as a child with their love and passion of Final Fantasy games!!! Rebirth is greatest Final Fatnasy Game!! It has now beaten my most favorite 6 Snes 3!! Because I feel the heart and soul for this cast of characters i feel has brought to life has left an impact! The music, gameplay, story, the world is absolutely amazing! 10/10!! Masterpiece! BRAVO, Bravo!!!

Masterpiece! I played the PS4 version and now playing it through the Switch! You want the best turnbase RPG game on the Switch! This is it! Persona 4 Golden has a slightly better story, music, and characters but this Persona 5 has the best GAMEPLAY!

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 -takes the crown! As someone who played the first Xenosaga and Xenogears I have seen a evolution of this game over the past 20yrs. You can tell Nintendo poured a lot of investment into this series and taken this JRPG to the next level. The story telling is the pinnacle of what JRPG games are about. This is what Star Ocean was supposed to be but never came to be.. Luckily we have Xenoblade Chronicles Series. I am huge collector and gamer for this series since I have cleared X1, X2, X, and now moving to 3. As Final Fantasy continues to lack in story and gameplay- Xenoblade Chronicles continues to forge ahead building on with newcomers to the the series! Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has 10/10 for story. 10/10 gameplay, music and sound is 10/10 and Graphics is a 9/10. I might consider this game as the best in the series taking over the first one.... Overall, I highly recommend gamers who enjoy a great story telling JRPG with fun gameplay! The series is hitting their pinnacle and glad people are finally recognizing it's value that I saw 20yrs ago and 15yrs ago when the first Xenoblade Chronicles came out on the WII!

Anyone giving this less than a 9 isn't being for real as a gamer or have any idea what a masterpiece this is.. This is definitely JRPG game of the year contender. SOUND, STORY, GAMEPLAY, AND CHARACTERS - all 10! Disregard all the 0-8.. They aren't real gamers or JRPG fans! Anyone who loves turn-base do NOT miss this!

Disregard all the low bS scores. This game is absolutely charming, fantastic music, amazing story, characters and gameplay! If people don’t like to read basic story text and details they haven’t read any real books. The world and the mini games are soooo fun. I absolutely love it and so impressed with it that I came on here to write a review!! Back to the amazing game and story!

Masterpiece! Literally we have to have two types of reviews. 0 - people who have never played and die all the time to cry and expecting it to be like Elder Scrolls. And the 9-10 are the people who love Dark Souls and we got everything we wanted.. Literally 2 small gripes - Map should be in the bottom right hand corner. Some basic markers would be nice for side quests. I don't mind it but it would be more convenient..

WOW! GAME OF THE YEAR!! Ignore all the ridiculous 0 or less than 8 on this! This was the most addicting most exciting game of the series! I have over 70hrs into the game and still feel like I need to play through again for the final True ending! ABSOLUTELY THE BEST GAME ON THE SWITCH! People who don't like the game either don't understand how to play and die all the time or they too unintelligent to understand how the game works! It's hands down the BEST Turnbase game!! I loved Persona 4 and 5 but Shin Megami is a darker more difficult game! It is the Souls of Turnbase!

How is it the critics and users reviews are completely opposite.. I will tell you how - Paid Critics are to sell the GAME! Gamers are actually playing the game and thinks it's garbage - recycled everything! There is absolutely NOTHING new to this... Don't buy its a waste of money don't be fooled by the critics!!!

Absolutely amazing! Must play for any Metroidvania fans! The story is very charming. The level design is creative and fun! And the challenge is a perfect balance! The music is amazing and the graphics is outstanding!

ABSOLUTELY MIND BLOWING TALES GAMES! I have played most of the Tales Franchise games and this one is my favorite! Highly recommend this game there is so much fun content - collecting owls, fishing, cooking, raising livestock -farming, side quests, costumes, and etc! The story is absolutely riveting and emotional! And the English Dubs are phenomenal! Great cast of characters! This is my favorite Tales games! The Graphics is a 10/10 Sound, English Dub, and Music 10/10 Gameplay 9/10 Story 10/10 Overall 10!! Best JRPG since Dragon Quest XI, and Persona 5! Definitely RPG game of the year!!

Don't listen to the negative reviews! Huge Persona fan and just been playing a few hours and I absolutely love the cast!! It reminds me of Persona 5 and bringing the cast back together with some additional new members has been fun! I am few hours in and its been fantastic! Literally my only complaint is the loading times every few cut scenes! Otherwise it's a fantastic PERSONA game and I thought I would hate it considering I don't like Dynasty warriors... This game is a Persona style! I LOVE IT! Anyone giving 0 are lies.. This is at least an 8 if not 9! Gameplay is 9 Story - 9 Controls - 8 Music - 10 Overall - 9/10

Most underrated game in 2019. Frankly I would give this a 9/10 overall. I waited to have this go on sale for 20 bucks but would have gladly supported $100 if they brought the American collectors edition to the states instead of Europe. They take Darks Souls/Bloodborne and make it Anime story which is interesting. The game play is very interesting and would have made few changes like emphasize of the bonus stats when leveling up so you can chose which things so you can really customize your build and character. Game play 9/10 The music is absolutely fantastic and the American dub is great!!! They did a really good job! 10/10. Story - 8/10. Interesting story but wished they would have made a few changes to make it connect more. It seemed a bit chaotic and not very clear as to why some of the things are what they are. Overall, if you enjoy Anime JRPG and love action Souls games this game is definitely shouldn’t miss. I would 100% recommend for those gamers who enjoy this stuff! I am have been playing it for 25hrs and it’s been fun! Anything less than 8 is bs. This is a great game for JRPG fans! Disregard critics and gamers love it! This was the most underrated game.

THE BIGGEST LET DOWN IN HISTORY!! Only 1st person when you have so many customized options? WHAT is the point if you can't even see your character?? Everyone needs to wait for this since it's a lie that critics gave this such a high rating! COMPLETE LIE! Everything about this game is god damn mess!

MASETERPIECE! I give this 10/10 right behind Chrono Trigger. It's one of the best JRPG experiences you will have! There are 3 main acts so make sure to clear all 3 acts to get the true ending!! This was so freaken amazing I loved it! TOP 5 best JRPGs! Do not miss this if you love Dragon Quest, JRPG, or turnbase style games! I loved it so much I paid 2X for PS4 and Switch version! cleared both times! Literally the only gripe on this game was that it was a bit easy except the final true boss and the training fights on the mountain. DO NOT MISS THIS MASTERPIECE! GO BUY IT! IT'S WORTH 100%!

DISREGARD ALL 0! I enjoyed all the Dark Souls, except 2, Bloodborne and Sekiro! And this one is by far the hardest (except Sekiro) and most enjoyable experience since it has no checkpoints and you have to go through the entire labyrinth to get to the boss fight each time. It is a mental grind.. But the satisfaction you get after you clear the boss after your heart is pounding is exhilarating!! I think the PS5 version seems easier and it maybe because it's 60FPS with NO stuttering, virtually no load time. I LOVE The game so much I was up till 3am playing ALL day! If you enjoy FromSoft games do NOT miss this one! It's AWESOME! The remake is mind blowing graphics and sound! The 60FPS is gloriously smooth. This is such an amazing game and enjoying this so much! I love the graphics, UI and gameplay! It's been so awesome! Over 15hrs and 6 bosses down already and more to go! Best graphics on any game I have seen! If you have a 4K with 120hz this game is mind blowing! Playing it on the 77inch OLED TV is just amazing!

If you liked NIOH 1 you will like this game! Same basic play style and setup. It has same basic Diablo equipment looting system. The boss fights are fun! The major difference in game play is the CORES - I am not a really a big fan of this game setup since it's really confusing on how it all works. I have no clue after 15hrs how to manage or utilize this CORE system. What I still don't like about the game is still there - endless grinding loot, the story is god awful, and the music is just average. I think if it had better music, amazing storyline, and tweak the equipment and better management system it would be a lot more fun!! I have skipped the story since its really dumb and boring. Unlike Dark Souls and Bloodborne - their stories are more unique and interesting with AMAZING SOUND TRACKS and much easier and manageable equipment system. I think this is what separates it from a Masterpiece vs. A great game!

I have played the original Final Fantasy on NES. Since then I have played all the classic RPG- Chrono Trigger, FFVi, Secret Of Mania, Super Mario RPG, Breath of Fire. Fast forward 30yrs later and most games are Action and turnbase RPG aren’t as popular today. And with a 85hrs+ into the game this is just one of the best! The people who are saying they had to grind a lot have ABSOLUTELY NO clue how to play the game.. The only grinding in the game is for the TRUE ending for the final boss. Otherwise going from one story to the next in the chapters very little grinding.... Most people are just frankly weak or lack of understanding of how turnbase games works.. Octopath Travelers is an amazing game not just because it’s a turn-base retro style but simply the story, charming characters, and music!! I played the 3hr Demo and I was sold on the game and preorder the Collectors editions because it’s truly an awesome game! I wanted to support developers that can still focus on Story, character development and music as an integral part in RPG games. This game is engaging and absolutely addictive! Don’t listen to anyone who tries to downplay this game because there is no way this game deserves less than 9! Best RPG game for the NIntendo Switch in 2018!!!

WOW!! I can't believe this is on the Switch! Absolutely perfect.. I play it on the train for daily commute and enjoy this game sooooo much! i can't believe it looks and operates perfectly on the go! just an amazing GAME!!

This game is NOT for the filthy casuals (APEX, Madden, Fortnite, NBA2K) and the salty complainers about the game's difficulty.. or Please stop writing negative reviews since you are NOT qualified to play this game. This game separates the men from the boys.. The Dark Souls & Bloodborne fans assume this will be similar, but has a rude awakening - ITS NOT! This is a game that requires a lot of concentration, patience and perseverance. If you don't have the patience to die 100X to learn how to defeat some of the toughest bosses then this game is NOT for you.. This game is designed specifically for intelligent gamers that have refined tastes. I have put in about 15hrs+ and so far I would give this 9.5 overall. It's an absolute fantastic game! The story is absolutely memorizing and the battles are intense.. You have to be patient, smart, and just plain "git gud". The graphics people complaining about seems pretty pathetic.. The GRAPHICS ARE GREAT! I would give it a 9/10.. Is it God of War graphics good no, but its not freaken PS2 or PS3 quality. The music and the ambient effects are great! I love the boss battles so far and the learning how to combo and parry in this game. Gameplay - in absolute 10 - Overall - This is just a masterpiece. Absolute enthralling battle and action sequences. The story is very interesting and its for true gamers are willing to accept the toughest boss and game challenges. For the casuals and madden/nba2k gamers stay away.. This game was not designed for low IQ.

So, if you are a casual gamer who likes to play for 1hr with the same battle over and over with bunch of friends with different maps to shoot and kill then this game is for you! For other true gamers who have good taste with some intelligence then stay away from NB2K, FIFA, Madden, and Fortnite 2.0. Instead go and play Monster Hunter World, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and God of War. Your IQ may increase playing those games since its a one time charge.. .

WOW! I can't believe I missed this game till now! Where was I in 2014 not playing this game? I am baffled how I missed this game till now. This game is absolutely the BEST RPG on the 3DS. The overall gameplay is fun with turn-based setup. So here is my quick review of the game - Graphics - 10/10 because the 3D the artwork and design is so amazing Gameplay - 9/10 - Standard Turnbase Sound/Music - 9/10 - Characters voice are wonderful and music is little bland but overall nice. Characters/Story -10/10 - Absolutely amazing! Wow! How did I miss this? Plot twists but typical JRPG style . The characters are very warm and likeable! I love it! I have played a lot of RPGs on the 3DS but this takes the cake and everybody who is into Turnbase-JRPG games will understand how beautiful this game actually is! I am looking forward to the part 2.. What I really like about this game is the actual 3D! I don't usually turn on my 3D thing but this game is so amazing with it! I LOVE IT! 3DS Masterpiece 10/10!

I have played Dead Cells slightly over 10hrs and almost cleared the game in the final dungeon. This 2D action game is bit over rated. This to me is way too short ****. While the game is ok and takes a little time of getting it use to, but once you understand the entire battle mechanics and landscape with bosses - it's really not that hard.. Personally, this game gets a little boring running through similar labyrinths over and over again with no story. I am frankly surprised with the raving reviews from critics and users. The money spent on this game to me isn't worth more than $10. The level designs slightly vary each go around after your die and you start over with all of your beginning equipment. This game concept ok, but its more annoying since it interrupts the game play. This to me is not challenging rather a nuisance. People giving this high praise is just delusional. This is a short 2D action platform game with no real substance. I am already bored after 10hrs doing the same thing and almost clearing it the final dungeon. The boss fights are rather boring.. You basically use the traps that continuously fires at them and relaunch them when they are gone for the entire boss fight. Frankly, if you want more of 2D Action platform game I think Salt and Sanctuary is much better game overall - Music, gameplay, bosses, level design, and details! This is overpriced Indie game that is worth $10 or less.

This is the MOST overrated game I have played on the Switch! I played a lot of games and poured hours into this one. I don't believe the critics or users because there are several major issues I have with this game.. I have cleared Bloodborne, Dark Souls, Salt and Sanctuary and lots of other hard games.. The difficulty isn't the problem I have with this game, but the entire gameplay. I feel like its work and NOT enjoyment. 1) Gameplay - The little coins you pick up is sparse but more importantly you have to purchase everything, Map, other BS tedious stuff. Purchasing items becomes strange.. Its as though I have to purchase everything and work.. Its seems more like a chore than a game! Score 2 2) Controls - complete BS - the Power shoot button is the same thing for healing! WTF! So i have accidentally hit the power shot button but wanted to heal - leaving it to be wasteful!*The jump is completely BS - I die more times sliding off the edge than I do with regular enemies. Someone said the controls are tight?? They are ABSOLUTELY NOT! When you jump the jump feels like there is an invisible wall and not a normal jump arc.. Score 3 3)Graphics - People said visuals are great.. They are OK - they made it sound like this artwork is absolutely amazing.. The colors are nice but the actual artwork is ehhh.. Its basic stuff - 6 4) Level designs are completely horrible. Some kid developed these level designs since they are NOT FLUID! Its gets tiresome and exhausting! I have to backtrack over and over trying to figure out where I can and can not go.. I spend countless hours trying to figure out oh can I get through here or not? Score 2 5) Music and sound effects - 5. Its ok but this doesn't compete to Salt and Sanctuary.. Overall, I paid and very disappointed in how I feel I was misled on this game. People said this is challenging.. I don't find it that bad.. What's bad is the level design, controls, and gameplay. The tedious management of changing out your pins for special abilities only at the REST stop is annoying. This game seems like the developer was trying to make you WORK for it rather than enjoy it! If I feel like am playing a game that requires me to do WORK WORK its no longer a game.. Its WORK! I love a great challenge and the bosses have been fun but that's about it!

With over 50hrs+ with NG+ this game is absolutely awesome! I would give this an overall 9 and considered this as The Best 2D Action Dark Souls game there is.. The only caveat is that I haven't played Hollow Knight or Dead Cells. Ignore anything 0-5 they are just trolls. This game 2D action game has something unique - gritty, tough, and interesting story, characters and item elements - "SALT". I would recommend any Switch users who enjoy Dark Souls games to try this game. There is frankly some small drawbacks that I didn't like about the game, but let's start out with the positives. 1) Gameplay - just addicting and fun - 2) Character, story, and Salt Items - interesting and different 3) Lots of Boss fights! Be prepared - they don't have a fog to warn you. You could just randomly drop into a boss fight without noticing it. 4) Plenty of Weapons, Armor, and items to build character. 5) Unique special abilities to allow you to do different things and go back and get certain items 6) Music - I really enjoyed the melodies, sound effects, and song.. Great Music overall. I wished it had more of it! Negatives/issues - *One of the Bosses - The Witch seemed almost as a cheat with spamming "homing" missiles that kil you with one shot. Most bosses are fairly easy and the only boss that I felt was completely unfair was the Witch with her homing spamming missiles. *Way too many items in the beginning and doesn't let you really progress slowly to figure out what you can enjoy. You don't know what weapon, item, armor is good which one to upgrade? A bit overwhelming and would have started it slower. *Skill Tree is just overwhelming in the beginning and way too much going on to start. They should have revamped the Skill Tree. *Buggy, glitch issues like randomly falling off things and other small frame problems in boss fights.. Overall- the game is absolutely addicting and fun! Be prepared to lose Salt, Coins, and health! Great job and looking forward to the next one!

After 100hrs+ and clearing the game with the "TRUE ENDING" I felt that I can give a proper review. Seeing others playing 10hrs and saying they had enough.. They are missing the entire game because the story doesn't even get good till 40-50hrs.. Anyone giving a less than a 8 after 10hrs of playing is just a dumb review! They are not even DRAGON Quest fans.. I have played the original NES when I was a child and evolution of this series is just awesome! Right now I am doing all the "post game" stuff which is actually fun! The story doesn't get really great till you start playing the "Post Game" stuff to find out what is really going on! This is my 2018 RPG game of the year with Octopath Travelers running very close. This was a very tough choice to pick between the two, but I really loved Dragon Quest slightly more probably because of the game series. This is the BEST Dragon Quest game in the entire series with number 8 closely behind it!! The Dragon Quest formula has not changed since the beginning and i really liked that. Having played the original Dragon Warriors (Quest) back in the 80s with the turn base battle mechanics formula, which hasn't changed too much. The music is also very similar from the original and I very much liked that. The graphics are absolutely stunning and some of the best Anime background and art style I have seen - 10! I love the backgrounds, cut scenes and characters. The Music is an 8 for me. While they kept the similar music I felt they could have added real melodies to rather than the old retro sounds to give it a more a crisp sound and background. They only used their main song from the Orchestra and you can tell the difference and wished they used more of that style and music choices all throughout the game to give it a more polished feel. Gameplay battle mechanics 9 - This is your standard turnbase game and love the fact they added a couple of new elements to it - "PEP". I would like for them to have better menu choices so it doesn't get in the way of the gameplay or a more cleaner approach. I didn't like the fact you can move your characters around to different positions, but made absolutely no difference. But overall its very smooth gameplay and I loved they haven't changed the formula too much on this. Story - This was 10. The reason why is because the game doesn't heat up till you get to the POST game when you find out more about what is going on - Don't want to spoil so don't miss the "POST" game story! Its very good!! The character development is also awesome with some really fun group of people to travel and fight! Overall - I would give this a 9.5 rounded it off to a 10 since this is the BEST Dragon Quest game in the series!! I would give this the RPG game of the year with Octopath Travelers running closely behind it. I will buy the Switch version when it comes out so I can play it on the go!

So I am huge Dragon quest fan - Played the original NES version and really liked it! Fast forward to the PS2 version and Dragon Quest 8 comes out and it was absolutely amazing!!! Frankly, Dragon Quest 8 is my favorite out of the entire Dragon Quest series so this 3DS version was a must grab for me. I have been playing it and this is virtually the same game that was on the PS2 version, but, I expecting them to tweak some of the menus to make it easier. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE 3D?? This is the 3Ds version so I expected this to come out in 3D - what a disappointment. Also, I thought they were going to improve on the game play and menus?? NOT at all. You would have hoped with an updated version. The sound is still great and voices are wonderful. I have chucked a few times on the story line and dialogue.. . The characters are wonderful and for anyone who has not played Dragon Quest 8 this is the BEST in the entire series so far!

OMG- after 3hrs+ This is absolutely AMAZING!! More review to come but I just had to give it 10/10 since its a masterpiece! IGNORE ALL the 0 they are either Xbox lovers or completely jealous since they have absolutely NO CLUE HOW AWESOME IT IS! I got it on the PS4 Pro and the graphics are the BEST!! The music and sound is just awesome! Gameplay is new and refresh and its just so much fun like - DarkSouls/Bloodborne. The story is just amazing! I can't begin to tell you how awesome it is.. YOU HAVE TO EXPERIENCE! GO BUY IT! ITS JUST THAT GOOD! 2018 GOTY!

Ok - so I just cleared it after 50hrs on Chapter 9. I can tell you this game is great but not a masterpiece like the first one. Its an amazing game but has some things that could be have been done better. Overall, I give it 9/10 any anyone giving this less than 8 isn't really being honest since.. the Music, Gameplay and Graphics are definitely high. I have played the first one - Ni No Kuni and so I had very high expectations. I would say this game has a different tone and game-play than the original, but none the less, just as charming. You don’t need to play the first Ni No Kuni to really enjoy the 2nd one, completely two different worlds, story and gameplay. Overall, I would give this a 9/10 so far and here is how I broke it down. Graphics- 10 absolutely the best! Its basically JRPG anime game! It virtually looks like you are playing an ANIME game. The hand drawn characters, background and settings are very impressive. They did a fantastic job and thought the cut scenes were amazing. Sound- 9.5. The music chords and instruments are spectacular and very easy to listen to. You can tell that real instruments are being played and it works harmoniously with the story and combat. A few criticisms about the Song are lack of variety being played during certain battle sequences and cut-scenes. I wished final boss songs were different than the regular . I also felt more dubs were needed in the story. They left way too much voice acting out of the story telling. I think it had to be because of budget? Story- 9.0- while the story started off very slow compared the first Ni No Kuni this was picks up after chapter 6.. And the final chapter 9 actually has some good spots.. But it just didn't have the charm or story telling that Studio Ghibli had in the original! I felt this wasn’t as emotional, or as impressive as the first one, but still very good! The character development is not as strong and I am not too sure if I have a connection with King Evan as the main protagonist. While the other characters are interesting I wished we had a more of backstory to them as well so we can feel like we are a team rather than randomly adding new characters to the roster. Gameplay- 9! Here is where I can tell they (Bandai) spent a lot of time in. I am really enjoying the various gameplays- building my kingdom- Sim City, which has a direct impact on my weapons, magic and everything! Also, the fun Army’s Battles was a great addition as well. The only thing I don't care about are the invisible walls when going into battle fights. The invisible walls are distracting and made some fights a bit difficult since my character can get stuck. Basically, I think they took TALES games and incorporated the battle mechanics in this since they are owned by same company -Bandai. Pe -Critics and other gamers are saying the game isn’t challenging enough? I sort of agree in some aspects, but I disagree if they are fighting against enemies 20+ levels higher than your characters aren't fast traveling back to get healed up. If you really want to make it challenging you can! Don't have any armor, don't use potions, don't use any special attacks.. You can make it like Dark Souls if you really wanted too - but 90% of players are just saying its too easy because that's basically the only critique they have. Overall- 9.0/10! This is definitely an amazing game and disregard anything lower than 8 on this. With the amazing graphics, sounds and gameplay, it has me hooked and played over 50hrs within 3days. I am looking forward to the expansion that will come later on and I will continue my review once I finished it but so far so good. And the only real criticism I have is the story, not enough voice in story, and character development is a tad weak and not as strong as the first original Ni No Kuni. But that's because Studio Ghibli was not involved. But overall it's still a very solid game and would recommend players to try!

Ok with over 100hrs+ in the game and hunter rank 55 I think I can give a proper review. First, I have never really played Monster Hunter but heard from other gamers its a great game! So i tried on the Wii and the 3DS and thought the game was a too much **** with an empty story so I passed.. . So then I purchased this Monster Hunter World on PS4 thinking I should give it another try. I asked a couple of strangers to help me since I had no clue what I was doing because its was pretty daunting they let you pick over 15 weapons and looking at the entire screen with so many things going on. I have to say without a couple of people showing me the basics I would not have enjoyed it as much because I wouldn't know what I am doing. So let me share you the pros and cons to this game - Pros - Great Graphics, Amazing monsters to take down and challenging, huge open land with great ambiance. Create your own character and customize your weapons, and armor. Cons - Loading times are extremely slow, No story had to skip most of it, Camera should be fixed. The lock on button should be corrected, and better inventory management system Overall - I would give it 9/10 since I played over 100hrs and still enjoying it. I love playing with other Monster Hunter Veterans who can show me how to play it properly with the BOW, and other tips while hunting. It's just a great game overall and enjoy playing it with friends on the hunt for monster parts to build up your stuff.

Absolutely a MUST BUY for 3DS owners! This game is stunning- the story is breathtaking and it reminds me of Chrono Trigger with amazing story and cast of characters. if you like Time-Travel and if you like Chrono Trigger and old RPG classic stuff this is not to be missed. If you haven't played the original then definitely pick this up because what you are getting is absolutely worth the price! If you enjoy Fire Emblem or RPG games this is just amazing! There is only one drawback on this game - no 3D.. So if you love playing games in 3D this game is unable to do that. Atlus has done it again! With the SMT, Persona, Demon Souls, Dragon Crown and now this! Atlus is the new Square Enix! Enjoy the story and adventure because this is definitely 9.5 -10!! .

I have clocked in over 50hrs+ and this game is absolutely AMAZING!! I just finished chapter 5 and its been amazing! My favorite chapter still is 3, but Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is my favorite Nintendo Switch game so far! WOW! This is an absolute MUST BUY for Nintendo switch or JRPG or RPG fans! For newcomers - Auto-attack is always on and so this game is about setting up your Arts Combo with your various blades. So this is not button smashing type of game. Please enjoy the various the different and unique types of RPG - Action, Strategy, Turn-base and this is more Rhythm base. Graphics = 9.0 (great on TV but handheld it takes a hit)< I don't mind it since its on the go Gameplay = 9.5 Sound = 10 Story = 10 Overall 9.5 I am giving it a 10 but its really like 9.5 and rounded it but also the nasty little trolls giving it a low score and don't even own the game. The game is absolutely awesome. I have played Xendolade Chronicles 1, X, and now 2. So far, I would say I like this game the best of the entire 3. But I like some parts better in 1 and X better - like X had SKELLS (mechs) and huge pretty world. But 2 has a much better story and deeper character development. Again the music is the best in the Nintendo Switch Library. I bought the special edition and downloaded/ripped the CD into the my phone to listen too everywhere. So the soundtrack is amazing. There is a Chrono Trigger song in the game but hope you all can find it! Overall, if you looking for the best RPG game on the Switch this game is it! Because it has an amazing cast of characters, music, and story then you should definitely pick it up! The review that did this game justice is on Youtbue - GameXplain in his 25min review which I watched and said- "LOVED IT"! And that is exactly how I feel - I LOVE IT! NOTE: Do NOT read IGN, GameInformer, or Gamespot review. They are all paid by EA, 2k, Activision and Ubisoft companies to promote and sell more of their paid to win (loot boxes), micro-transaction type of games.

I don't support EA games - ALL Garbage trash ridden with hidden fees, extra content that cost money and pay to win games! They make the games time consuming hoping you continually play it but instead you are bored and then find a game that doesn't have anything but a great story, great multi-player, great battle mechanics and just FUN! EA Battlefront misses on all of that and the CEO needs to be replaced and Disney needs to find a replacement to get Star Wars game back to the players!!!

So a little history about my experience before I get into the review. I played this back in 2015 and couldn't get very far after a few hours and gave up... I didn't get why people loved this game besides the absolutely gorgeous scenery and graphics - best of what a PS4 can offer. Music and sound effects were amazing.. But no real story, unless you look for it and try to flesh it out. The gameplay just brutally tough and I couldn't get pass the first boss and so I quit..... BUT THEN- a couple of years later went by (2017) and I said you know what let me give this another try after playing Dark Souls 1 on PS3. I put the disc in nervous won't get very far again but I said you know what Dark Souls was tough but this one has no shield and I want a faster game pace. A few hours later I couldn't put it down. I finally got the rhythm and timing. And understood the battle mechanics. You do have to do a lot of grinding and didn't realize you have to level up a lot in order to be able to play through the bosses, and regular fights. But if you can get the rhythm and timing right this game isn't that tough. Yes, you will die a lot still because some monster lurking in some corner that you were unaware or expect. But that is the thrill of the game. This game is not for someone who gives up easily that is for sure. This game doesn't have much of story but what it does have is pure raw satisfaction when you defeat a boss after 100 tries and finally clear it. It punishes the weak gamers and folks who aren't able to adapt to the gameplay or battle mechanics. Now pushing over 45hrs this game is absolutely a masterpiece! I absolutely love this game because its tough, challenging, and makes you want to get better gamer. It can be super difficult but don't youtube how to defeat a boss. LEARN, ADAPT, AND HAVE FUN because this game surely does that. It makes me a smarter, better, and more intelligent gamer! It has some minor frame rate issues and hoping that the PS4 Pro won't have these problems. So here is how I broke it down in these categories: Graphics - 10 - the best of this generation - scary like Resident Evil, but reminds me of Castlevania Sound - 10 - Music is amazing with the sound effects the best I have heard. It's freaken scary! Game play - 9- but camera can be dysfunctional and wished the camera viewing should be fixed when battling. Story - 7 - very little and wished they would have explored the story more since it looks very interesting.. They should have developed the story to really enhance the RPG experience since the little of the story of the information they do provide is really good! Rating Overall - 9.5 - some minor bugs, virtually little to no story, and during a battle the camera can get in the way, But what it does have is absolutely amazing boss fights, great graphics, best gameplay, best sound effects and great music! in summary, I would absolutely recommend this game to people who are looking for a tough challenge. It has amazing battle mechanics, crazy BOSS fights, absolutely beautiful graphics and glorious satisfaction on conquering the game. I have much still to learn but I can't stop thinking about how to beat a particular boss or city. Be patient on fighting this is not a Hack and Slash. I am looking forward to Bloodborne 2- let the hunt begin! DLC - cost $20- it comes with one large new areas to explore with 5 new bosses. I am not believer in these DLC things since its just a money grab, but I supported the developer on this because I wanted to support the IP. They don't have Micro transactions BS like EA, 2K, Activision, Take Two.. UPDATE: I finally got the Platinum Trophy- The 4th Chalice dungeon (Defiled) was the most difficult! And now just cleared the DLC - 100%! Wow that was definitely difficult but rewarding!

I have played all of the main Mario games starting with the very first one where I started on the 8bit. And over the last 30 years, I have seen the transformation of these Mario games become amazing! I love Mario and the entire cast (Luigi, Princess, Bowser, Yoshi, Toad, and etc.)! After clearing the story mode, I am now going back and getting more stars but I am feeling like its a chore and not fun. Having said that while I love Mario Odyssey, I personally think its missing several things to the game - creativity! I loved the Galaxy series much more because the each of the planets offered a different perspective and challenge. This seemed more like the same with different setup - Fire, Ice, Water, and etc. I enjoyed this Mario but I don't think it its a Masterpiece that everyone is calling it. I think the Galaxy series was way more fun and challenging! The story in the Galaxy was so much better too! This game seemed a little to basic and entry level for Mario players except the DARK Moon! Story - 7 - Lack thereof. Could have had more characters (Luigi, Yoshi, Princess Toad) to play a more important part in the game Controls - 6 - the controls is the reason why I die most of the time. The camera is not fixed but it should be able to determine how far or away much easier from certain things. Gameplay - 8 - seemed almost the same for each world using the magic hat. It's gets a little old. I wished they pushed more toward having different characters and their abilities to help Mario on his quest. Graphics 9 - great graphics and 60 frames is great both on TV and Handheld Music - 9 - Wished they had more of it! Overall - 8 It seemed as though they were running out of ideas and so they just rushed the star idea to place them everywhere. MORE IS NOT BETTER! And wished they did more on the story and interaction of each characters. I think the professional reviewers aren't being really honest if they have played all of the Mario games this is definitely not the best. Having played all of the main Mario games I can see the differences and creativity in each. The "magic hat" while it was fun I think they over played it too long and shouldn't be the entire game. The costumes as someone else mentioned, while they are nice and fun to look, but weren't integral part in the game! They could have easily made the costumes important to the game mechanics which I agree could have helped break the "HAT" trick idea. I felt that the hat was a great idea but it was over used and wished they would the outfits play a part into the game!! I think Nintendo doing great things and love my Switch, but this is just not a Masterpiece as the Galaxy Series are! And to be honest its definitely NOT best in the Mario series and people are over exuberant about playing another Mario game and the reason they are raving about it, But after the dust settles they will realize that the Galaxy, Sunshine, and Mario N64 games were much better in design and creativity.

UPDATE: 35hrs+ This is the best Strategy/Tactics turn base game since Fire Emblem Awakening! I have never played Rabbids game in my life, but the 5min intro to the game was amazing! I am not a big fan of crossovers, but they really got this one right. There is so much exploration, funny story and I swear you will laugh or smile at least once in the the game! I chuckled so many times on the cut scenes! Here is how I broke it down - Graphics - 9.5 - Bright colorful, and very detailed environments Story - 9 - The story so far so good - Gameplay - 10 - So many things to offer but SIMPLE. The variety of ways you can attack is wonderful Sound 9.5 - The music is great here with simple melodies, Wait till you get to ACT 3! Its the best! Overall 9.5 - if you are fan of Mario and like strategy type of game this is the BEST! I think Disgaea 5 is a good turn base but environment, story, music, and game play put this as the one of the best Tactics/Strategy games ever! Absolutely LOVE IT! Go buy it and see why everyone says its great!

UPDATE: After 45hrs+. While, I disagree with the most of critics and users alike on this game. I believe this is a solid 7+ or higher rating. Not the best Tales game, but I think this should have received a much better score.. I own most of all of the tales series.. I loved Xillia as well as Symphonia. I think the story is absolutely great playing over 45hrs into it! The graphics are updgraded PS3 style. And could have been better but absolutely love the Anime Cut scenes! The couple of problems in the game is the Battle game mechanics. Its really hard to get into since you keep smashing "O" button and it quickly takes you to the page that you exit out of so you don't know what you received. They should have done a better job of the battle clearing stages. Also the camera angle can be challenging and not too sure why I have problems soo many times trying to get the camera angle to adjust properly. But those are my gripes about the game. Otherwise disregard ratings that give this less than 7.. This game I think is great.. And IGN and other critic reviewers are wrong to give it anything less than 7 on this game!! It's a great game not the best.

Wow, lots of haters on here... I would give this a 8+ but due to all the nonsense 0 scores I am giving it 10.. Anyone giving this a 0 either is lying or doesn't know anything.. There is no way this game is 0. And frankly disregard all of those reviews! I have played the original Final Fantasy 1 on NES. And this game series has evolved greatly over the last 30yrs in my life. This game is absolutely wonderful and disregard anyone who says otherwise. I have played over 5hrs+ into it and its awesome! Love the MUSIC - Standby Me, and menu option and screens and etc. The game-play is wonderful, the world is beautiful and the characters grow. Some of the pit-falls or challenges I have with this is game is the frame rate issue.. For action sequence games they need 60 frames per sec or it looks slow to me. Also the lack of story in the first 3 chapters is not well thought out and could have made it better. But the open vast world and hunting challenges is fun! I am not a big fan of the spell craft since it looks rushed. I am not a big fan of the equipment, item customization but ok with it. But here is how I broke it down. Story - 7.5 Graphics - 9 Gameplay - 8 Sound - 8.5 Controls - 7 Overall - 8+ This goes to my top 5 best Final Fantasy games I have ever played and yes I have played them all! 1) FF 7 2) FF 6 3) FFX 4) FF XV 5) FFXII

UPDATE: Over 136hrs+. This is in the top 3 best Zelda Game ever made! Anyone giving this less than a 9 is not being honest or fair because this is absolutely stunning!! Disregard all 0! They are lies! And truth is this game. The puzzles and open world is nice. While this is NOT a perfect game. I think it is should go down has one of the best Zelda games. Positives: Great Open world- Con - 9.5 The world can be sparse and not enough variety of enemies *Game play - 9.5 Amazing puzzles and dungeons - Cons - Need more Dungeons- They only had 4 mechanical beasts dungeons (not enough)- Swords break a lot and require you to pick up silly weapons - sticks. *Music - 9.0 its great during the battle and open world but its not loud enough or variety. *Graphics- 9.0 -its definitely good, but frame rate issues and could be better in some areas - Wii U+. *Story - 7.0 - I think Link to the past is better game. Overall, I think its a great game and one of the best Zelda's ever created, but I think its missing a few important things - amazing story, more variety of enemies, More dungeons, and frame rate issues, music needs to be more dramatic. I think a perfect 10 on this Zelda game it is not. Its definitely a solid 9.0+.

I wrote this review because Nier Auotmata is the greatest RPG game ever made! People play RPG games mainly for the story, right? And therefore this is truly a masterpiece! The game is absolutely beautiful and artistic. I wrote this review because it whole heartily deserves a 10/10. I just finished the game with the “True Ending” with over 50hrs of play time. Be prepared to bring some tissue. This is NOT a perfect game, but it’s a masterpiece which I will later elaborate as to why and share some minor issues I had with it. Pros- +The Story – 10/10- It’s about a story of elite special forces (YORHA) who are helping humanity from the tyrannical machines. You don’t know much about the character’s, background, and what exactly happened to humans? We are being told they fled to the moon for safety? The story will begin to unfold after the 2nd play through and that is why you have to play through till the end to uncover the truth. If you want the best ending, you need to play the 3rd time. I was frankly confused after it ended so abruptly on the first run. If you are able to get to the “True Ending” which I consider is route E, where it has the mini-game at the end of the credits- you have finally made it! But there are multiple endings if you are interested in those others. The story is deep and philosophically intriguing. +The Music is by far the best I have ever heard in any video games- it is an absolute gem– 10/10! Classical and melodramatic tones really brighten up the environment, characters, and story. I even downloaded and purchased the soundtracks since I couldn’t get enough of it and I wanted to listen to these songs on my Iphone every day! The entire album is absolutely amazing! They work harmoniously with the game and is perfect for the battles, stages and ending. + Gameplay– 10/10 – It is primarily a hack and slash, but they added so many different and other variety of ways to play -such as side scroller, top down- airplane mode similar to Gradius, mini hacking games. While the battles can seem overwhelming at times and unfair because you forgot to save and to have to reload and start from where you last left off so don’t forget to save! They incorporated the different variety views/angles, side games, and etc, which shines through rather than just playing the hack & slash the entire game. Indifference- *Graphics are ok but not great for PS4. I thought it could have been better with more livelier environments- like Horizon Zero Dawn. The CGI cut scenes are great, but some of the environments seem rather dull. *The lack of variety of enemies and boss machines are a little sparse? I would have added some more mechanical beasts and or other different machines. *Lack of equipment. They have variety of weapons. You use chips to incorporate to enhance some skills - defense, offense, support and etc. But where is the armor? -None, which I would have liked some. The variety of weapons are nice and upgrading level is fine, but what about adding chips to weapon or armor to add more customization to increase different stats? *When you have 9s or 2B fighting alongside of you there should more customization rather than setting them as Balance, Aggressive, and etc. under game settings. I would have liked them to back up the main character for healing, or other various purposes. Cons: -The difficulty level is very erratic. NOTE: Make sure to equip the Auto-item chip so it automatically heals you when your life is low when you are in a middle of battle. Enhancements on your character can do some real damage. Some hacking games can become almost impossible to clear because movement is very fragile and sensitive. If the hacking games become too difficult then adjust the difficulty to “easy” to have it automatic shoot and move – assuming you have the chips. -Some minor bugs and frame rate issues on PS4 (not Pro) in certain areas of the game – Like weapons list doesn’t show the picture. Frame rate drops. Summary: Overall, if you are looking for a profound story with beautiful music and unforgettable/memorable characters (2B, A2, 9S), this is a game not to miss! The game can be unforgiving without the proper save points and forcing you to restart again, but don’t let these frustrations overcome the beauty of the story, music and characters! If the hacking game becomes too challenging switch it up to easy and then switch it back up to normal/hard. Nier Automata's story is so fresh and enlightening. Frankly, it was emotionally draining and can make you sad at times and confused. But the real truth and reality can be unsettling. This game does not have the best graphics, some minor bugs, difficulty unbalanced, and improper save points, but this game simply has the most unforgettable story, music and characters, which makes it the BEST RPG GAME TODAY! Chrono Trigger & Persona 5 have been dethroned.

Now clocking in over 136hrs+ and completed the game on "Hard" mode first play through and it was absolutely amazing. I died a lot of times especially the ending with all of the tough bosses and burning through all my SP items. This game without question is the best Persona series so far - The best Graphics/Animation style, Sound/Music (JAZZ, Classical, Pop/heavy -rock) on point and amazing as always! Persona 4 Golden had a couple of soundtracks better and couple of other elements better but overall P5 style, new gameplay mechanics, dungeon and bosses were much more difficult, which I liked. I love the entire cast and characters. And I thought it was funny when Morgana always telling me to go to bed and others may find this annoying but I thought it was funny. If you are NEW to the Persona series. This one is NOT to be missed! Any gamers who have never played a turn-based strategy game should absolutely try it. I am tired of only "action based" games and always looking forward to different playing styles. For any new RPG or JRPG fan this is a must buy and play! I now consider this to be in the TOP 3 best RPG ever made and maybe #1 taking over Chrono Trigger's spot... And I could only dream of a "time travel" Persona story (hmmm)... But the Persona stories are amazing, very well developed, and detailed.. It will have you on the edge thirsty for more to find out the truth in what is really going on. The ending had some twists and turns and I absolutely loved it! This is an absolute masterpiece and will take you through a journey that will make you feel like you were part of the cast! Graphics - 10 (art style- anime) Sound/Music 10 (jaxz, Classical, and Pop Rock) Story - 10 (real life issues) Gameplay/mechanics - 10 (Demon Fusion, Turn-based, All-out attacks, Social Links and etc.) Overall - 10! (Masterpiece) Go buy it now since it was the best $60 investment with over 100hrs plus content! This is my 2017 GAME OF THE YEAR!

This is in my TOP 5 best JRPG ever made! Best RPG on PS3.. It brought back my love for RPGs, since everything has been god awful - Skyrim, and all these other games that people are playing. This is how I broke down my rating: Story - 10 Graphics 10 Gameplay 10 Sound - 10 Overall - 10 *Absolute masterpiece! Ni No Kuni 2 is coming out next year and looking forward to it! This is absolutely amazing and is a must play for PS3 owners!

The best game in the franchise! The best RPGs game in the last 9yrs!!! The story, music, characters, game development is amazing!! If you liked Persona 4 on PS2. Well this is like the remastered super elite version!!!! In my top 3 best RPGs of all time right behind Chrono Trigger and FFVI.

This game is absolutely AMAZING! Worth EVERY PENNY! I do not buy FULL Price games! But this one purchased the limited edition and the retail copy! I have been playing over 10hrs of it and had to take a dinner break! But don't let anyone scare you from getting this game- its freaking amazing! Any Wii U owners would understand how awesome this game is! The BEST RPG on WII U today without any question! So here is how I scored this game in these following categories - Story - 9 - The story is great! Also, love the customization to pick your character and who you want traveling with you on your team for missions! You get to pick and choose your class at the beginning of the game! The missions are fun and entertaining and provide you with the backdrop as to how you landed in Mira (planet) Game play - 9.5 - Action RPG but with special Art skills to trigger various attacks, armor, and etc. Graphics 10 - Most AMAZING game on the WII U by FAR! The best graphics on the WII-U! I would put it close if not better than most PS4 games! It looks very AWESOME - Think AVATAR! Sound - 9 - I think the sound is great. People have said that the music is terrible. At parts it gets old but its not as terrible as everyone is making it out to be. You can turn down the volume if its annoying but actually hate RAP, and Dubstep but that's only certain parts of the game not the entire. Controls - 9.5 - You get to utilize the ENTIRE WII U Gamepad! Totally understand how they utilized the Wii U gamepad! Meaning that when you set up your probes and things on the screen you change it via gamepad and fast travel via the gamepad! Its AWESOME! Easy interface and pushing the run does get a little tiresome but otherwise I love using the gamepad with it! Overall - I am giving this is a 9.5/10
