Bought it cause I heard it's nothing like when it came out. I had the exact same experience, annoying generator skills I have to use, cant use all my skill because there arent enough shortcut slots for them, melting everything on the screen (on hard start), not even knowing what is happening, just pressing buttons and running through ****'s the same ****. Died to a crash and I wont even finish the campaign, uninstalled.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider6

Much better than the previous ones, but still plenty of flaws. The big positive is that there are actual tombs in this, way more exploration and adventure. The negatives are endless, but mostly small ones: way too many irrelevant loot, constant pointless small cutscenes, hardly any combat and its super easy, Lara whines a lot, linear levels, loads of padding (talk to villagers, pickup the lore stuff etc). Just the fact that I finally get to explore amazing looking ancient tombs carries it for me, but if they remade the originals with this combat and platforming it would be so much better...

Awful, awful, and even more awful camera. Its not nostalgic, its does not create tension, its just plain infuriating, ruins controls as well. Limited save system can be stupid too (you have to do like 15 mundane clicking actions before a boss fight, but there is no autosave). Otherwise beatifully crafted game, great atmosphere, actual puzzles etc. But the **** even sure if I m gonna finish it or just watch a lets play.

Love the camera gimmick, and even the story/atmopshere however little I experience of it. Quit after 45 minutes, cause its a supernatural ****, overloaded with surreal visions and predictable jumpscares from minute 2. Leaves nothing to the imagination, just a mess, feels like a fever dream, 0 tension.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition5

This pissed me off, could ve been one of my favourite games. The biggest thing is that its a generic third person shooter with an unrecognizeable Lara Croft. 95% action with very little puzzling or adventuring, tombs are relegated to an optional gimmick, although they are by far the best parts of the game. Very heavily ubisoftisied, plethora of meaningless collectibles, skills, popups everywhere and a suffocating amount of cutscenes. Climbing and combat is so much better than the originals, if they just stick to the adventure game formula it would ve been a banger, instead its just bang avarage...

Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration5

Could have been great if you cut all the crap. Extremely cinematic, you are interrupted every few seconds with a cutscene, waay too much story, Lara whines and talks all the time, popups everywher, who cares about immerson...Ubisoftised semi open world, so many useless collectibles, achievments and skills, these systems would have been good, but they are extremely bloated. And worst of all, hardly any tombs. The best part of the game so far is the SIDE TOMB I encountered, wtf that should be the main game not an optional activity...I was left alone, no cutscenes, no popups, no npc's but an enviromental puzzle, thats the good ****! Combat is good, apart from the usual "stealth" and bad AI.

I d wait for mods or at least patches, but still very enjoyable. Running butter smooth on a 2070 on high, I must be lucky with it. Atmosphere is good, but I found a couple of things annoying : artifact hunting is straightforward annoying, monsters should drop some loot, there is 0 incentive to kill them, if an enemy sees you they all know your position at all times, sounds are bugged, not coming from the correct direction/echoing without reason etc.

I **** hate myself for giving blizz money. **** me and everyone who bought it. Game is fine, very atmospheric, but serverly lacking in loads of areas. - 5 classes, no subspec or anything, very little class or skill customisation - generator/spender is the only playstyle for every build, what the actual **** imagine if cast on crit was the only way, its just like that... -scaling is arse, detrimental to both gameplay mechanics and exploration - open world random events are boring a, feels very cheap and forced, with the exception of strongholds + combat feels very satisfying + some sidequests are actually interesting + looks amazing

The whole evoking nostalgia thing is detrimental to this game. The fixed camera can be annoying, in some cases your character woud clearly see an enemy, but "you" dont see it, so the game doesnt act like its there, it just breaks immersion for me. The real **** is the resource based saving though, i never liked it, what the fking point in an adventure game?? There are no skill based action mechanics, its not hard or fulfilling to play a part again, its just a chore...Right now my game crashed and I d have to play a good part over again, i think I rather go watch a playtrough... On the bright side good atmosphere and some decent puzzles (nothing like silent hill), but its very much worth it for the price. WIth an over the shoulder camera and normal saving it d be a 9 for me.

Absolute zero effort remake, you get better graphics and that's it, and I can't even access my characters half the time, being locked out of playing the game I payed for (twice)... I would have welcomed rebalancing the the skills and classes, but I would be okay with the IF they provided full mod support. Needles to say, they havent. Total lack of QoL features you would expect from a modern game. Master sound slider? No. Bufff/Debuff Icons? Ofc not. Move bound to left click? Nope. There are loads of small features they should ve added. For this price, we should expect rebalancing, additional endgame content, QoL features and functional fking servers...

Only played 8 hours, but I lost all interest, here is why: 1. Story is non existent so far - Prob still playing the prologue, but not even a hint of something interesting to come. I m just a rando doing errands, managed to evoke zero emotions or **** giving. 2. Awful characters - Everyone I met so far is like a stupid teenager trying to look hip in front of the cool guys, if I hear "biz" one more time, I m gonna vomit. Its like they copied the turds from modern NFS games. I ve never skipped conversations in games, but here I felt like doing so not far from the beginning... 3. Immersion breakers everywhere - Valuable loot on the street next to bums; Armored truck blowing up from handgun shots; Punched a guy in a gym, ppl started cowering two block away; Police magically appearing when you commit a crime etc etc... 4. Awful AI- Nothing to elaborate on, its just **** 5. Shallow build options - I dont have to play a lot to know this, looked at the skills, most of them are stat upgrades. 6. Lack of choice - Ok this is sus, cause I only played 8 hours, but the utter lack of any player agency in conversations is alarming. My char has one line that progresses the story or I can add a stupid remark or question (so far). I dont even have a choice in how to react, not to mention decide how I wanna handle things... 7. Driving is like its from a '90s game 8. Uninteresting loot - The game showers you with so many (mostly irrelevant) loot, that its impossible to ghet excited about exploration. Moreover you gonna spend a considerable amount of time salvaging everything, cause ofc everything is worth more salvaged.... 9. Metric **** of bugs On the good side it ran like butter for me in 4k, the city and characters look and sound amazing, but that not why you would play a CDPR game for.... TLDR: Boring story (might get good later), Awful and uninteresting characters and fkign immersion breakers everywhere

Amnesia: Rebirth6
Oct 25, 2020
Pretty disappointing from Frictional. TLDR its not immersive, stupid mechanics, constant framedrops. Game is full of annoying immersion breakers like flashbacks, main character commenting on something, mini cutscenes etc, ffs why? In Amnesia they didnt stop the game and they were infrequent enough that you barely noticed. Here? All the bloody time, its awful. Story is mixed imo, I liked the non personal part, but found the whole baby thing pointless, moreover counterproductive. Trying to evoke warm, personal emotions dampens the fear factor, plus I just couldnt care about any of the characters, found myself wanting to skip those parts. On the other hand the - without spoilers - other aspect of the story is great, I highly enjoyed that, especially that the game does the same thing to the player that certain someones to another group, in the game. Darkness mechanic is a joke. I stand 2m away from a candle, perfectly lit and she starts panicking...plus it results in jumpscares, eh. The thing that happens when you **** just makes we want to die, instead of avoiding it, yet again ruining the fear and immersion factors. Game is best when it lets you play it, a few areas have non scripted monsters with good atmoshere, if you can just forget about the story and immerse yourself in that, you can have fun. Considering the price its absolutely worth playing once, but its a huge letdown after SOMA.

Obviously the game itself is great, but you can tell there was no love given to the PC port. Runs like crap on my i7 /1070, 30 fps with drops no matter what I set graphics to, so might as well play on high/ultra (without ffa). edit: dunno what happened but now I get stable 60fps of fullhd max graphics, can even play 1440p/ultra without ffa, around 40 fps UI is utter **** half the time it wont even detect mouse input, controls werent optimized for kb at all. Why the **** do I have to hold keys instead of pressing? We have a 100 keys, we dont need this bs. If I open my inventory I cant navigate items with the mouse, if I click on smthg it gets used, so the only way to see what that item does is to use the arrow keys... The absolute worst part is that they didnt change the console mechanics that only exist cause ppl cant aim for **** with controllers. Should have gotten rid of the deadeye and cover systems entirely, lets hope someone can mod them away. First person is playable, but feels weird in some situations, thankfully you can auto disable it for horse riding/driving etc, but there should be no need for it in the first place. I had no crashes or laucnh issues, but I guess thats just luck. Dx 12 is very glitchy and unplayable on my system tough. Wait at least a year until there are some decent mods out.

Way better then I expected, still has lots of console game specific issues, but its quite fun. Being able to customise HUD is a great step in the right direction, now just give me full control of my character, so I can jump, climb etc instead of pressing one button to watch the game do it instead of me. Difficulty is a bit uneven, the first couple of fights were very hard, havent really died since then (hard diff). Have been playing for like 6 hours and I havent encountered any cool bosses so far, so its a bit of a letdown in that area. I personally love the puzzles, its a nice addition to the game. Combat is fun. Overall its a good game, nothing groungbreaking. Oh story is a bore, I ve lost interest after 10 minutes.

Monster Hunter: World5
Feb 28, 2018
There is definately fun to be had, but I cant help feeling extremely disappointed with how much a better game this could be. My main gripe is the combat feels like I m playing guitar hero, trying to excecute my combos while the monster is just doing its own thing. You never feel like you are actually hitting the creature, moreover the games collosion detection is just the worst I ve ever seen, my cape clips thorugh my own fking shield for gods sake, I can pass trough ppl, objects, monsters, rocks etc, its just horrible and absolutely unacceptable. The map design is great on the other hand, there is a lot to do with the enviroment, and there are also loads of sidecontent if you like collecting **** Gear progression is boring as well, hunting monsters and making gear from their bodyparts sounds like hell of a fun, but progression consists of flat stat bonuses and visuals, it always plays the same. Overall ,this is a great concept done poorly.

If you are a carebear in MMOs like myself then you are gonna have a lot of fun with this, there are a lot of cool non combat activities to keep you entertained and honestly thats mostly what I care about. If you are in for PvE than forget about this, its utter **** there is absolutely no dungeons or any meaningful PvE content, too bad cause the combat is the best I ve ever seen in an MMO. To sum up : Michael Bay made a game for Dinsney and they dare to call it survival horror. I wanted to play and review this, but after 10 minutes of "gameplay" I find myself gathering the willpower to press on. One thing is clear, this is a supernatural horror flick, not a horror game. I was forced into a story I give zero **** about, why cant we have some sense of mistery? This thing starts like a **** episode of Supernatural, shoves **** in your face instead of subtly building tension. The controls feel abysmal as well, you thought the Witcher 3 had clunky movement? This is way worse, and why the **** is this in third person to begin with, isnt this supposed to be immersive? I m going to play a bit and finish this review, but I bet the enemies will be scripted as **** barely reacting to things you do, there s gonna be a ****ton of explosion, gore and bright flashes, maybe it evolves into a decent action game like Dead space 3 ( i quite liked that). Okay, played 5 seconds and I m pissed off. The guy manifests in an another world and the first door he encounters he kicks in. This would be hilarious in Machete 3, but I want to feel terror, not be **** John Wick in a horror game...

No ground breaking improvements or innovations compared to the first one, but its just more great crpg. You actually meet interesting characters, who invoke real emotions in you, I felt sad, angry, even giggled a few times. Combat feels balanced on tactician, I have to try bigger battles a few times before succeeding and you have to put some thoughts into your builds if you want to progress. Gameplay is open, and you pretty much do whatever you want, no hand-holding at all. Main story is quite a bore though, if it had an intriguing setup like Tyranny did, I d give this a 10. Oh yeah and the default camera is a pain, go grab the mod for it!

Far from perfect. Abysmal running controls, immersion breaking, stupid things, lots of bugs, still the best RPG I ve ever played. First of all, I just dont get why all the **** about kb+mouse controls, I havent even tried controller, cause it works perfectly fine for me. Running (just running,, walking, jumping is fine) is a joke though, its just so clumsy and inaccurate I hardly ever use it. I strongly recommend turning auto-run off asap. Combat is fun, much better then AC or any other 3rd person game that comes to mind, but still way too arcade to my liking (locking on, no precision, blocking and counterattacking with a single click). Playing on hard you have to prepare for bigger battles, use potions, oils and signs, so its diverse and challenging. There is a very annoying thing about combat though, enemies tend to have a wierd aggro range, bandits can just stand and yell at you, taking crossbow shots and bombs in the face...monsters sometimes just de engage you in the middle of battle, turning their backs on you and walking away, as they suddenly just couldnt be arsed about fighting the player. The most disturbing thing for me is though the fact that I can just loot every **** house, even is the residents are standing right next to me! Wtf? It seems so easy to fix, and mind numbing that they left it the way they did. Theres other **** too, like bad npc pathfinding and loads of minor grahical bugs. Everything else is **** brilliant. Gothic level character design, interesting quests, great graphics, excellent sound etc.
