Silent Hill: Townfall is a stunning spin-off for the series, taking to a new setting and telling its own unique story, expanding your ideas of what exactly a Silent Hill experience can be. With a semi-open world littered with tense corners to explore, creative puzzles to unravel and heaps of analogue nostalgia – Townfall never outstays its welcome, and we are so ready to dive in again.

Silent Hill: Townfall might be a much more contained experience than recent series entries, but thanks to a strong story, unsettling atmosphere, and tense gameplay, it nonetheless shines just as bright.

I have enjoyed this game beginning to end! The atmosphere was top notch and kept me on the edge of my seat pretty much all the way through. The story alone is worth the experience and fits the silent hill franchise so well. The combat isn’t anything special but not the worst thing ever but for the most part it’s recommended to play it stealthily even though combat is an option especially when caught and cornered. Overall I enjoyed this game so much and looking forward to future Silent Hill games definitely recommend this game!

Outstanding game. Perfectly paced, well balanced and well written. They incorporated way more gameplay mechanics than any previous chapter and the puzzles are the best since the first 2 games in the series. The all stealth-debacle is way overblown, the game delivers in every single aspect and it's the most ambitious entry in the series, probably since 2001. It's great to see a story-driven horror game that still presents a challenge rather than just being a walking simulator. The idea behind it is solid and the execution is absolutely perfect.

This new chapter stands shoulder to shoulder with Silent Hill f and the Silent Hill 2 remake. Another must-play survival horror game.

Townfall is a title that should particularly appeal to die-hard fans of the series, especially those who weren't keen on the changes Bloober Team made in the Silent Hill 2 remake or the genre mashups in Silent Hill f, and would prefer a more classic approach. Screen Burn Interactive has successfully captured the horror of the early entries, enhancing it with their own unique narrative and modern visuals.

From the pervading dampness that engulfs St. Amelia’s streets to the tangible feelings of isolation they help conjure, Screen Burn Interactive has created something special. Townfall is terrifying, beautiful, and nightmarishly good fun. This is a Silent Hill game every survival horror enthusiast needs to play.

An intense, unsettling and well-crafted psychological horror game that delivers strong atmospheric thrills, even if it overstays its welcome slightly in the final hours.

Silent Hill: Townfall shines in its atmosphere, town design, and puzzles, but its clunky gameplay becomes an obstacle to fully enjoying the story. Many of its ideas show real potential, yet the frustrating combat weakens both the exploration and narrative, the two most compelling aspects of the game. It is clear that a great deal of care went into both, even if the somewhat awkward pacing makes them harder to appreciate.

The complaints I keep seeing about stealth are overblown and illustrate a lack of skill, resourcefulness & or intelligence in approaching this game. Screen Burn did a fantastic job with this, both as a horror game & as a Silent Hill game. St. Amelia might not related to the original town, but it captures what it is to be a Silent Hill game (and not just because of the fog although that, too, is very well done). The setting/location, graphics, story, gameplay, new CRTV mechanic, New Game+ unlocks and the 5 different endings are all just great. The attention to detail in St. Amelia is top notch. They nailed the 90's Scotland aesthetic. I've yet to see a poster or writing on objects that is gibberish or low-effort lorem ipsum. The Strange Postcards are also a great addition. Love the Otherworld aesthetic too. I'm probably going to be replaying this game for a while. I'd rate this equal to or slightly above SH2R and both SH2R & Townfall far above SHf. SHf was an action-fest and the farthest thing from a Silent Hill game in my opinion, so that shouldn't come as a surprise. Side note: the complaints about The Weight are also overblown. I've had no issues getting through the Medical Center on Normal mode. All this to say: straight 10/10.

Very well done atmosphere, narrative, game tone, save mechanic/enemy tracker. Also sound design and cinematic visuals were great. The stealth gameplay was barebones though. The problem solving with the puzzles was nice in the fact that it made you think for yourself, but the combat, little enemy variety, and exploration were tedious and repetitive.

Atmosphere and audio are great but gameplay is bad. It’s a hide and seek game and you have to read notes everywhere to progress the story. Mostly a fetch quest , go to X location only to find out you have to go back somewhere else to get a key and come back, it’s an old out of date gameplay style. I’d give this one a hard pass as it’s worse than Silent Hill f

The gameplay here isn't bad in a Silent Hill sense, it's bad like a $6 steam game is. Graphics look uncanny and cheap a lot of the time, other times it looks great but the framerate issues are bad. The monsters feel like copies from earlier titles. Shouldn't be a SH entry. This game is only slightly better than Downpour.
