Minecraft Dungeons II

Minecraft Dungeons 2 is a brilliant sequel. It offers exactly what you want from the franchise and much more! The world is a joy to explore, and I love the new monsters and weird setting. It is fantastic with friends and great when playing alone. It captures every Minecraft vibe while remaining true to what we all love.

Minecraft Dungeons II expands its predecessor’s formula in every direction, offering a vast world, deeper loot and customization, new movement options, and more flexible co-op. The chance to explore Minecraft’s new Sift dimension further enriches the experience. Despite a few minor issues, it remains an accessible and enjoyable action RPG, ideal for newcomers and for sharing with friends and family.

While the game may not break new ground, it offers a fantastic, relaxing experience—and often, that’s exactly what you’re looking for.

If you were hoping for a dramatic evolution in the Minecraft Dungeons formula, you may be a bit disappointed. However, if you were simply looking for an expanded, more fleshed out experience, Minecraft Dungeons 2 will hit all the right notes for you.

Minecraft Dungeons 2 improves upon the original in every way; it is a lightweight ARPG that is highly recommended for co-op play with the youngest members of the family.

Minecraft Dungeons 2's biggest weaknesses now lie in an unstable online component, which is a major problem for a game like this. I want to be able to join my friends online without worrying about constant rubber-banding or random disconnects. Or if I've had enough of dealing with these problems, I'd like to at least take my character off the online grid entirely without having to start over. I had been enjoying myself with this game a lot, but the online issues did a lot to sour me by the end to the point that I was just ready to wrap the whole thing up...Minecraft Dungeons 2 is a great game night idea, but just make sure your party's all gathered under one roof first.

Minecraft Dungeons 2 is a shallow ARPG that provides a few evenings of mindless dungeon delving fun, but not a lot beyond that. Aside from the new Sift realm, which has a some cool new ideas and creatures to admire as you and your friends carve your way through it, there’s just not much to make this sequel stand out. It makes poor use of Minecraft’s iconic world, feeling like little more than a skin slapped onto a generic Diablo-like, with a barebones story and skin-deep hack-and-slash combat. This low-stakes action isn’t a bad way to pass the time, especially if you’re intimidated by the hilariously crunchy menus and buildcrafting of more serious ARPGs, but there also aren’t a ton of compelling reasons to play this one beyond that.

Improves over the first in almost every way with the jump button and interconnected world. However a few complanits i have is that you cant see how damage weapons do and you cant make a hero that is playable in singleplayer and multiplayer and while you can make a online hero and then make a private party, you wont be able to play offline.

I think it's a nice improvement over dungeons one with the addition of exploration given the jump button, an open world, and more customization when it comes to armor/tools combinations. I think it has a bad optimization, not much character customization, it's annoying we can't play online with offline characters, etc. It's a clearly flawed good game I'd call it.

One could say Minecraft Dungeons 2 is a slight improvement over the first thanks to an overworld map and the use of a jump button, but compared to many other isometric dungeon crawlers available, it still falls short on substance, depth, balancing and overall content. I imagine it's more fun in co-op, but regardless it ultimately boils down to a shallow action adventure that gets repetitive, predictable, unbalanced and buggy.

I don't know what the other reviewers are smoking or if they're solicited feedback, but as a massive fan of the first game who put hundreds of hours in maxing multiple characters and builds, I am heartbroken at how unsatisfied I feel playing this new one. Movement has lag that wasn't present in the first one. Many textures are simplified and somehow seem inferior. Jump is annoyingly overlapped with interact. UI is not well thought out., from the character select screen to in-game. You can't even see item details in local co-op so you have no idea what you're equipping. The new hub-less world feels cumbersome and confusing to navigate. I was praying for a Minecraft Dungeons 1 continued, and this is certainly not that.
