This definitive remaster elevates an already legendary ARPG to modern heights, showcasing jaw-dropping path tracing, refined animations, and smarter enemy combat. Although movement still carries a slight lingering clunkiness and initial load times remain protracted, the comprehensive mechanical tweaks and bundled expansions make this return to the Continent an absolute masterpiece.

The question isn't whether The Witcher 3 Remastered can still compete in 2026. The real question is which comparable game of the last ten years can go toe-to-toe with it, and that is a very short list.

If you’re coming back to The Witcher 3 after a long break, or if you’ve never played it before, now is the perfect time to immerse yourself in this awe-inspiring world. This was my second playthrough of this title, and honestly, I enjoyed it even more than the first. If you’re looking for a new game to dive into headfirst, then you’ve come to the right place. Lose yourself in the world-building, fall in love with the characters, and soak it all in, because this is an experience to savor.

The Witcher 3 at its visual best. The remaster refines the combat, skill system, and controls, but largely leaves everything else as it was.

CDPR’s free upgrade offers plenty to enjoy ahead of Geralt’s final adventure, making the Continent feel at home among today’s best open worlds.

We are talking about The Witcher 3, complete with its two excellent DLCs: Blood and Wine, which is richer in terms of content, and Hearts of Stone, which is more artistically striking. The remastering work is polished, save for a few minor hiccups—mostly involving the menus. It is truly hard to pass up, especially considering we need to get ready for Songs of the Past.

Even for someone with relatively little experience in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s universe, the scale of the world, the branching narrative, and the stunning visuals make for an impressive title on so many levels. The new features, graphical upgrades, and inclusion of past expansions in Remastered only enhance what is already a game in the upper echelon of RPG greats, although there are launch issues that will need ironing out. Combat might be better than it was before, but it is still an area that lags behind compared to other aspects that are done exceptionally well. With integrated mod support, though, perhaps some of the most lacking elements could yet continue to improve.

Simply the definition of perfect! Just like in 2015, but with a ton of improvements—especially the graphics. It hasn't gone overboard at all and still keeps its charm. The horse is much better to ride, the combat system got a few minor tweaks, and the skill tree has been reworked, which I really felt it needed. You can make much better builds now! I love it, thanks to CD Projekt Red for always being loyal to their fans!

I rated all Witcher 3 next gen and both expansions 10/10 and the game itself deserves the 10/10 But for the remastered version.. it's a huge downgrade, the accessibility options are great, bringing console mods, some new mechanics and skills.. i love all these. But if speak about the graphics and performance.. on the base ps5 the next gen worked like a charm on my base ps5 for 400h .. when i updated the game, the graphics became blurry and washed out, the brightness now is hella high, huge stuttering and performance drops upon auto save/ mission start or completion and in many more places.
Moreover, the water, vegetation, and snow physics are completely gone, grass don't move on impact with character, no footsteps on the snow.. I was so excited to start another playthrough and now i can't even play the game i always loved because of a stupid unnecessary remastered. They could've just added the new mechanics without messing with the graphics... Utterly disappointed. Unless CPDR fix it soon .. this rating will stay 3/10

I'm not sure what went wrong here, but the saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it" comes to mind. Besides the fact that redlauncher won't work now, I had so many issues getting the game to run, then getting it to run without insane visual glitches. Now it's running okay, not great but smooth enough, I'm still having constant issues with visual noise, odd shadow pop-in, general pop-in, this fuzz that seems to be over everything no matter what I change, etc. I had a perfectly running modded version of TW3 already so I'm just wishing I hadn't updated it. It's basically the same thing I already had except they seemingly increased the color saturation. Maybe it would have less visual glitches if I used ray-tracing but I have a 7900 xtx, ray-tracing shouldn't be a requirement. I wish I hadn't deleted all my mods because I would have just went back to the "next-gen" version or whatever it was before the remaster. Overall I still consider it to be one of my favorite games of all time and I appreciate the effort, but to me all they did was break things. If it was any other game I would have just given it a 0 but it's TW3 so.. 2 it gets.
