As a complete package, Tormented Souls 2 has a lot of things going for it. The atmosphere it creates is great, and the visuals are fit to the world’s unique ideas and challenges. That being said, the fact that they chose to go with limited saves does make the game feel more high stakes, but it can get frustrating at times because of it as well. It’s nice that you don’t have to play the first one to understand this game, and it’s definitely one of the better horror games made in the past few years. Yes, it doesn’t have the AAA flair and all the bells and whistles, but the self-contained story is very well-made, shared in a creative way, and the game itself doesn’t shy away from being very fun. It’s an easy recommendation for horror fans, but even if you never dabbled into the genre before, it’s a good starting point.
Tormented Souls 2 builds on nostalgia for classic survival horror with tank controls. It succeeds in creating a strong atmosphere despite overwrought dialogue and poorly executed animations in the story cutscenes. It will primarily satisfy fans of B-movie horror, as well as those who once trembled through the early Resident Evil games. Some may even forgive the missteps in combat difficulty tuning, as high-quality puzzles and well-designed levels ultimately reward those who persevere.
Tormented Souls 2 refines the formula of its predecessor while keeping its essence intact. The sequel enhances practicality and flexibility in exploration, featuring more intuitive mechanics and smoother controls without losing the weight and tension of classic survival horror. Its puzzles are cleverly designed, combining logic and atmosphere to sustain a constant sense of unease. While the visuals remain modest, the lighting and sound design effectively build dread and immersion. By balancing tradition with subtle modernization, Tormented Souls 2 stands as a confident continuation that deepens the fear and reinforces the series’ identity.

If you liked the first Tormented Souls you should definetely check out this one too. It's a huge step up from the first game in terms of general quality, with more detailed envirorments and more various locations, expecially the very first area being much memorable and fun to navigate. The gameplay itself also saw some major improvements, with much more engaging combat encounters and fun boss fights. I also liked most of the puzzles in this one, but some of them still don't make a lot of sense to me. Story-wise it's ok I guess but I didn't care at all for any of it (and to be fair I didn' even care in the first game), but it's ok, this is not the type of game you play to enjoy a good story, so only gameplay/exploration/puzzle is more than enough to justify playing it in my opinion

The sequel in my opinion has a better story than the first game however I feel some of the puzzles were too difficult compared to the first one, in the first one I didnt have problems solving puzzles but on this one I had to look for a guide, I like the new design and improved graphics but still hate how bad the cutscenes animations are, if there is a third game I wish they can do better cutscenes.

I know Tormented Souls 2 is based on older horror games like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Obscure. I approve of that, but 20 years ago, games were short because of hardware limits, so developers had the smart idea to create very difficult puzzles so players would take a long time to solve them.Today, we don't have that problem; technology is advanced enough to create longer games. However, this game creates extremely difficult puzzles. For example, you see a mirror with candles around it; you need to use a lighter to light them in a specific order. But what order? The correct order appears in a picture in another room on the other side of the map. Do you understand what I mean?Another problem is the difficulty in moving the protagonist. Enemies are not stunned after being hit and continue to attack, so you can't escape. But the game has great moments too; many situations gave me jump scares, and it was amazing

Tormented Souls 2 delivers a confidently crafted survival horror experience that leans into its classic inspirations while pushing the genre in creative directions. With stronger world design, improved pacing, and some of the most atmospheric puzzle sections in recent indie horror, it’s a must-play for fans of old-school tension and challenge. While the game occasionally frustrates with trial-and-error mechanics and limited interactivity, it still stands out as a passionate and memorable sequel.

Un juegazo de 10, como los resident Evil clásicos pero en moderno, fantásticos puzles.

If you like classic Silent Hill or Resident Evil games you should like Tormented Souls 1 and this even better second game. Stunning atmospheric environments. Hard puzzles (I admit to using a guide for some of them). Combat is better than the first game. Just a really good classic-style horror game. Normally I wait for sales to buy games but wanted to support this team after the excellent Tormented Souls 1 so got it full price. Still less than half the price of AAA slop.

Caroline Walker returns with her sister in a new adventure that far surpasses the first Tormented Souls. The Araneda brothers' survival horror expands in this sequel with a more ambitious approach that rivals the great classics of the genre. Beautifully and intelligently designed settings, powerful characters, and an immense number of deep puzzles are the keys to a quest that will take us through different locations in search of our sister. Two endings with the promise of a third "funny" ending in the future, many tense situations, and the need to use your head to make it to the credits are the foundations of a release that surprises with the care with which it has been created.

Tormented Souls 2 faithfully follows the path laid out by its predecessor, continuing to pay tribute to old-school survival horror without ever succumbing to modern action influences. This second installment is made for true fans of the classics — for those who long to relive that nerve-wracking feeling of moving cautiously through the dark, counting every bullet, studying every map, and listening to every creak. As an authentic experience for the nostalgic, Tormented Souls 2 doesn’t aim to revolutionize the genre — nor does it pretend to. What makes it stand out is the confidence with which it embraces its own identity: a heartfelt homage to the masters of the past, crafted with skill and passion. Still, some of the first game’s issues (though somewhat improved) remain, along with a few of the genre’s age-old flaws.

Tormented Souls 2 is a worthy successor to the original game, offering an improved experience for players. The sequel has significantly enhanced user-friendliness with its well-designed puzzles and intuitive hints. While the combat system and balance mechanics still present some challenges, players have the option to adjust the difficulty settings or wait for upcoming patches.

If you have an itch for a fixed-camera horror and the patience for punitive controls, this is your game. If not, the Tormented Souls experience will feel less like a nostalgic embrace and more like a frustrating relic.

bon jeu, graphisme sympa et bonne bande son. Assez difficile. Ambiance réussie mais durée de vie beaucoup trop longue...

A homage to old school Resident Evil and overall a decent one, but not quite at the same level as Capcom's best offerings. Camera angles very often cause disorientation, even taking you towards the enemies you want to avoid. Also, while mostly good, some puzzles are overly obtuse or get tedious due to the long backtracking process.

Are you a forty-old like me who grew up with Resident Evils fixed camera ? Do you feel nostalgic for that golden age of extreme survival horror and truly challenging puzzles? Well, Tormented Souls 2 is the game you've been waiting for. It brings back the Capcom formula of 1990s Resident Evil 1:1, even stealing from Silent Hill for the alternate dimension. Despite being an indie production, it exudes passion and elegance. Not for the faint of heart, the game is hard and challenging even on normal difficulty, but if you have patience it will be very rewarding.
