Silent Hill (1999)

It's a horrifying action/adventure that will set the pulse racing and put the mind on constant alert.

The various flaws (like horrible voice acting, odd attack control, and hyper-linear gameplay) keep it from earning a perfect rating. But it's a worthy successor to "Resident Evil."

If you thought that "Resident Evil" was scary, well let me just tell you Resident Evil is akin to Disney's Bambi compared to this... If you want a game that will surely help you soil your undies kids, than Silent Hill is what you want!

Go buy Silent Hill, pour yourself a strong drink, turn out all the lights, and immerse yourself in the sickness. It's a hell of a lot better than going to see the latest Wes Craven movie.

Those looking for the intense action of RE may be disappointed. If disturbing atmosphere is your thing, with an emphasis on 3D exploration and puzzle solving, then SH will be worth a whirl.

No game will freak you as much as this game, and I truly believe you will enjoy it no matter what genre you're into most. If you don't have this game, buy it, and while you're there, pick up a set of briefs. You'll need em'!!

Unique atmosphere, replayability with lots of endings, exploration, secrets, weapons, bosses, enemies, horror factor. I can't wait for the remake to come!

It's honestly impressive how this old PS1 game manages to create such an incredibly creepy and intense atmosphere. The fog, the environments, the sound design, and especially the music all come together perfectly to make the town feel genuinely unsettling. Sure, the controls are clunky as hell and the graphics look pretty outdated nowadays, but honestly, I think the dated graphics actually add to the overall creepiness.

Cool atmosphere and soundtrack. The story is fine, but considering the year it was made ig it's good then.

Imagine some cottage cheese dumped out on the sidewalk for 20 years. That's how well this game has aged. It was probably good when it came out, but it's a chore to play now.

One of the worst games or dare I say the worst game I have ever had the displeasure of playing in my long 18 years of playing video games, even though I had emulated the game for free and got it to run at 4k nothing would ever return the time I had wasted on this **** of a match. Quite simply, there is nothing that makes this enjoyable and I mean nothing, I had more fun studying for my calculus final than I had playing this **** story is so **** it should be classified as a biohazard, the gameplay is like operating a banana, the difficulty of this game stems from poor controls and one-shot kills, and what makes this game longer than hours is the distance between each savepoint, the pacing is so horrible and the characters so boring and the music is like scratching a chalkboard and the sound effects are borrowed from a Charlie Chaplin, and the radio itself is like sticking wooden stake that goes through your brain and into your pain receptor.
