Resident Evil Requiem

Resident Evil Requiem is one of the best, if not the best, Resident Evil games I’ve ever played. And I mean ever. The controls, the level(s) of difficulty, the characters, and the story are all immersive. The only thing I wanted to put down are those zombies. Capcom has done it again.

The next evolution of the Resident Evil series has officially arrived and it delivers on nearly every front. From the visceral, gory combat to the tense, compounding sense of dread that accompanies every darkened hallway, Requiem feels like a love letter to every Resident Evil fan. The dual-protagonist addition works to near perfection, with Grace thriving on tense, survival horror driven moments of terror, while Leon deploys the heavy firepower and one-liners to bring up the rear. Its environments and settings have a sense of familiarity to the horrors hiding just out of sight, while feeling like a brand new monster entirely. Though the story does falter towards the end, I feel confident in saying that Requiem is one of the strongest entries in the series as a whole. It does just enough to honor the past, while pushing full steam ahead towards the future.

I should mention that there are a couple of details in the story that didn't quite fit for me and seemed a bit forced, and that the boss battles, in general, seemed quite easy compared to other instalments in the series. Otherwise, I can only praise the work that Capcom has prepared for us.

The most entertaining new Resident Evil game in over two decades, with fantastic combat, amazing graphics, effective scares, and the most enjoyably bad one-liners in the business.

Resident Evil Requiem confidently honours the franchise’s legacy by bringing Leon back into the spotlight while simultaneously laying the groundwork for its future with a compelling new character. Backed by a proven formula, a passionate fan base, and the ever-reliable RE Engine, the future of the Resident Evil franchise looks brighter than ever.

We'd love to talk about Requiem as a masterpiece, the best of the three most recent numbered titles in the series. Unfortunately, despite a first installment of the adventure capable of achieving excellent results, we can't do so, nor can we hide our bitter taste as longtime fans. This is because the success of the overall experience is partially compromised precisely when more space is given to an icon of the series, the protagonist of an action-horror section that simply doesn't live up to the previous one, though not without its own beautiful moments. We conclude by saying that yes, Requiem is still worth playing, even just to experience its evolved "zombies" and to discover how it looks to the series' past (and future).

Heavy on nostalgia and fan service with the occasional violent delight thrown in, Requiem is a mostly fun Resident Evil title that still feels like a step down from its predecessor.

Chef's kiss, this game is just pure Resident evil goodness. If you like survival horror it got you covered if you like action pack RE guess what also covered what a game.

Kinda of overrated, two characters with 2 different gameplay stiles, Grace's is a great survival horror game and Leon's is an average action game that over-relies on nostalgia, bringing back a lot of enemies and locations from previous games, but everyting feels old, the boss fights feels like remakes of old fights with a new coat of paint also the second half becames too linear, leon feels so alineated from the main plot, he has noting to do with it,

Re requiem est un bon jeu, mais toujours un énième résident evil, avec encore et toujours la même structure, sans rien innover et sans prise de risque. Le gameplay des deux personnages sont sympas, mais rien d’extraordinaire, le scénario est malheureusement assez moyen et se contente de faire des références aux anciens sans rien créer, les antagonistes introduits sont inintéressants et leurs combat de boss mauvais. Ça reste un bon jeu mais bourré de fan service inutile au lieu de créer une vraie histoire et d’introduire de nouveaux personnages marquants.
