PRAGMATA8

t's cool to see a new AAA IP, breaking away from market trends and daring to bring something new. The real-time hacking system during the shooting sequences, is not only fun and intuitive, but also brings some freshness to the genre. However, the stages could have made more interesting use of Diana's hacking skills. She basically unlocks panels and opens doors. I missed more creative puzzles along the way. Also, although she is a lovely character and the father/daughter relationship with Hugh is cute, the script they are in is very underwhelming and doesn't hit you emotionally like it intends. The antagonists are weak too.
But despite its flaws, Pragmata still plays great and the charming protagonists are reason enough to keep going

ChainStaff8
Apr 11, 2026
Very interesting game inspired by the art and vibe of heavy metal albums from the 70s/80s. It's a mix of Contra-type action games with a simpler version of Metroid, and brings very interesting ideas, in particular, the spear that gives the game its name, ChainStaff. A very versatile mechanic, which in addition to fighting enemies, can be used to reach parts of the stages, raise structures such as a pillar and bury it in the ground to block projectiles. Very nice, even though it could have been used more creatively in the level design. However, despite good ideas and insights, not everything is excellently executed, especially the backtracking a la Metroid, which becomes tiring due to the large number of enemies that have to be killed all the time. Sometimes I just wish they would leave me alone. I also think that the 80s heavy metal track, with a somewhat Iron Maiden feel, ends up irritating due to its continued intensity and sometimes even seems to clash with what is happening on screen.Anyway, despite the flaws, i still recommend it to anyone who likes the genre though.

Darwin's Paradox!9

I really enjoy it, and that surprised me given the amount of unenthusiastic reviews. The game is basically a mix of timing/precision platforming, stealth and puzzles. The gameplay reminds me sort of something like Planet of Lana and Little Nightmares. It's not super daring, but it has personality, charisma and the little octopus abilities are incorporated into the level design in a very intelligent and fun way. My reservation goes to the fact that it ended very abruptly. Other than that, great game !

Resident Evil Requiem9
Mar 7, 2026
The first Half at the Rhode Hills Care Center with Grace is peak Resident Evil! Great location and old school inspired gameplay. The encounters with the monster lady from the trailers are terrifying and one of the moments in the game. Also, some action moments breaks with Leon serves as a nice chatharsis moments to alleviate tension.
However, the most awaited awaited moment was the return to Raccoon City with Leon, and despite the nostalgia/ fan service and overall great gameplay, this is surprisingly the low point of the game, due to how visually monotonous the gray palette full with rumbles look. That first segment before the arrive at the delegacy should've been cut or abbreviated. It's kinda redundant (but not terrible).
Also, the villains lack development (I do like Victor despite that) and some story elements are a bit weird and come into contradiction with what we know about a specific character. Anyways, still an excellent game and absolutely delivers great gameplay and level of production.

The objective is to climb to the top of a mountain, but among all the games I've played that feature some type of climbing, this is the one that feels the closest to resembling the real experience. Each movement has to be thought about and choosing which route seems less risky and which wall will provide more stability is crucial. Also, amid beautiful landscapes, the weather, wildlife and the search for supplies will also be major obstacles and push the character to the limit for survival. Very immersive and interesting experience. The first half was GOTY material, but around halfway to the end, the challenge becomes very punitive. If it wasn't for the assist mode options, I would hardly be able to finish it. Also, it overstays its welcome a bit. At the end I was a bit tired.
Anyway, even with it's drawbacks, it's very worth checking.

Big Hops8
Jan 29, 2026
Great game, quite surprised by how much I enjoyed my time with it, given how divisive apparently Big Hops is among the critics. Gameplay wise it has this Nintendo flavor of inventiveness and feel good mechanics. Maybe not as polished as a Mario game, but works very well.Particularly I enjoyed the more confined areas and fast paced action sequences, than the more open sets with heavy collecthaton exploration, but never felt bored in my almost 12 hours playthrough. Also, nice visual esthetics and pleasant soundtrack. However, despite the likeable protagonist, I found the plot not very engaging and kinda pointless. Also, this is infested with bugs. No kidding, it crashed more than 10 times and about half of that at the very last minutes. Thankfully I didn't loose substantial progress, but I was really worried about not been able to beat it. Very problematic performance too, especially at the end where It felt like the game was about to explode anytime due to how it was struggling to sustain a mere 15 fps.I definitely recommend Big Hops to people who enjoy 3D platformers , but I'd say to wait a bit longer to play, until the developers fix the several bugs and inconsistent performance.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond7
Dec 9, 2025
Still a good Metroid experience in its core, even if the new features like the physic powers and the motorcycle didn't do much to move the series ''beyond'' (but they don't compromise the experience at least). I also don't mind the more prominent plot, much better than scanning a bunch of computers to have some kind of plot. The only problem is that the script is weak and the characters do not succeed in making any kind of emotional impact or connection. At least it's not super intrusive with many **** really big issue here has to do with the pacing. Have to cross this big hub desert set all the time to get access to the main areas and also the grinding fetch quest, with no fast travel, gets tiresome after some many hours spent in it. Also, I feel the amount of stuff we have to scan is too overwhelming compared to previous Prime games. However, despite its many flaws, I had a good time and I absolutely recommend this to all the fans. Just lower a bit your expectations, this is not the groundbreaking game we were expecting after some many years.

Tormented Souls 27
Nov 16, 2025
A homage to old school Resident Evil and overall a decent one, but not quite at the same level as Capcom's best offerings. Camera angles very often cause disorientation, even taking you towards the enemies you want to avoid. Also, while mostly good, some puzzles are overly obtuse or get tedious due to the long backtracking process.

Everything I've experienced in my 5 hours long of gameplay is dull, soulless and generic in every way possible. It looks like an AI-generated game by someone who is a fan of Dead Space, Resident Evil and Silent Hill, but took the worst aspects of all these games.

Little Kitty, Big City6
Oct 28, 2025
At first I was really engaged. The cat is adorable and while the controls and camera are not super polished, it's functional enought to play and it's fun exploring every corner of the little mini map, doing cat stuff, seeking secret passages, interacting with other animals and completing tasks. However, after an 1 1/2 hour or so, i was starting to realize, that almost every attempt of exploration and activities we do, serves no purpose besides getting cute hats for the cat and they also get really repetitive (get that, collect that, find that...). So about 90% of the game's content is pure cosmetic and what's obligatory to complete, is just find 4 fishes to make the cat strong enough to climb back to it's apartment and can be done very quickly . That's so much waste of potential! Really disappointing.

A confusing plot about a character who needs to fight her traumas, related to how she feels about being a woman on a 1960's Japanese society and that I honestly couldn't empathize because of how boring the writing and flat most of the characters are. The protagonist is too cold and poker face to connect with. Also, gameplay wise is not anything special. The sets are visually nice, but overly linear. Combat is clunky, frustrating and not very fun. Finally, it's not scary at all, enemies look too anime and cliché to create an horror atmosphere.
One of the most disappointing experiences of 2025.

A nicely done old school revival. This is a game that I loved back in the day, but I don't think a new coat of paint is enough to bring It to modern audiences. This should've been redesigned from the ground up, because the old mechanics now feel clunky, slow and dated. The stealth genre has evolved since then and I don't see how it could appeal to anyone apart from the old fans.

It's so fun to destroy and dig the scenarios looking for bananas, like a ''Hulk monkey''. Even though the whole design structure reminds somewhat Mario Odyssey, this mechanic gives it a breath of fresh air. Also, everything looks so playful, inventive and is full of fan service, moving from the arcade era, through the Country games and even referencing the controversial DK64.
I had a amazing time with DK Bananza, but going after all the collectibles can be a bit exhausting and the OST was not at the same level as the old Country games.

A nicely done take on the Zelda formula. Instead of a medieval fantasy world, there is a fun urban setting to explore with beautiful pixel art visuals, full of personality, humor and very clever puzzles to solve with the yoyo that the main character use as a weapon. It also features dungeons, but differently from the usual fire/forest/ice themes, there are very fitting choices like a mall, a soccer stadium and a **** can be a bit too challenging sometimes playing with the default settings, but thankfully the challenge can be customized to better fit the player skill.

Amazing level of production and the mechanics are fun, but it REALLY overstay its welcome. Its fun at the start but about 1/3 of the game, everything becomes too formulaic: killing enemies, climb walls, open chests, solving the same kind of puzzles and lots of narrative context (and boring) segments. That's pretty much what we have to do for about 30 hours. Also, no epic battles like the old days and most of the characters are kinda bland. 94 score on MC is a joke.

Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda9
Mar 13, 2025
I had blast with Cadence of Hyrule. It's very close to a conventional 2D Zelda experience like A Link to the Past. Maybe not with the same complexity in puzzles and dungeons, but very addictive anyways. The main gameplay twist is the rhythmic combat, that at first I found it weird, but I got used to it very quickly. It works great and is very original. The only thing this game misses the mark a bit, is that some items are a bit underused or not very useful at all. Everything else, top notch!

Feb 11, 2025
May be expensive for what it is, an old game with HD visuals, but DKC Returns is stil a very fun game, looks beautiful and the stages are very creative. Also, an untypical challenging Nintendo platform, which is fair if the objetive is getting to the end, but diabolical if going for all collectibles. Fortunately they are not mandatory, even if its a pity that many people may never be able to fully beat the game. The only thing that really feels off, are the antagonists (tikis). They look so boring. As charismatic as a tree or a rock.

Between ups and downs, I made to the end, but the overall experience was a bit disappointing. Bought this game because of the high scores. What these people were thinking when they gave so much praise to it? This is the worst game I played this year. I absolute love Metroidvania games, but I couldn't stand this one. Dark and boring art style, no music and it doesn't give any kind of substancial hint or information to help the player. If you love being lost for hours and not knowing what to do, this is for you!! Also, there's not a single line of any kind of plot, no apparent purpose or objetive. This one is a masterclass in level design and gameplay. Could perfectly pass for a Nintendo platform game. It's so polished and creative just like a mainline Mario 3D. Also, it has this celebratory aspect so present in some Nintendo games about their past, but here celebrating the history of the playstation brand and partners. Very good game . I just wished the supporting cast of villains were more integrated to the plot and better developed. Reaching the ending stages felt so anticlimactic. Although I enjoyed my time with Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, they are such massive and time consuming games, that sometimes I feel i just want to play Zelda games like this new one. It takes the non linear formula from the current games, but with a scaled down world that feels less complex and simple to explore. Love it! The only thing that let me down a bit, was the soundtrack. It's doesn't live up to the Zelda series standard. Also, I felt that the echoes menu selection should've been faster to navigate. You spend too much time searching for an specific echo.

Sometimes just a visual upgrade and a few refinements are enough to refresh an old classic to a modern audience, but that's not really the case for Mario RPG. It just doesn't have that timeless factor as many Nintendo classics from that era.

It's about time we finally have another Super Mario Bros., that developers really put their heart and creativity into it, instead of recycling the same old stale DS game formula on and on. Each stage felt unique and the Wonder effects add a particular and surprising twist that keeps us curious about what's next. Also, visuals, soundtrack and overall production are top notch. The only I did not really like, were the new characters and plot, they are kinda silly, but it's just a detail. Best 2D Mario since the SNES era for sure.
