This is definitely like Hitman. People are saying it's like Uncharted- but it's really not- which was very disappointing to me. This game is about 100% stealth. You have to find a way into a situation, bluff your way forward, and combat is the last resort. Shooting is about useless as guns only have a very few bullets. The game does look amazing. It would be good for those that like these Hitman games. But if you're after action/adventure- this just isn't that type of game.

I loved Ghost of Tsushima- 1 of my top 10 games of all time! But I started Yotei and I’m not too impressed yet. The map of the first area opens very slowly. There are groves of trees that keep you from traveling to certain places- which weren’t present in Tsushima. The story just isn’t as good as becoming the ghost in Tsushima. The bamboo strikes and hot springs seem harder to find as well (except the golden bird when you get close). Maybe I’m just jaded from the first game, or I’m kind of bored with gaming, especially open-world games. A lot of this game is very long cutscenes. It’s more of movie than a game at times. Not enough action. I keep hoping it will be more of an action-adventure game, but it’s not most of the time. I quit playing after 9 hours. I’m now selling the game only 4 days after the release. Which is sad because I re-bought the PS5 largely for this game. Overall, I’d give it about a 5/10, and I will not play it again.

My initial impressions are pretty good- but not as good as #4. There’s no automatic ammo pickup. You don’t get a satchel charge to start with & you have to search all over to find one. The missions seem to have one main objective instead of the several in #4. The exits for the levels are always clear across the map from where you ended the last event. The targets are much harder to find than #4. I actually liked some of the DLC missions better than the main game missions. But, overall, it was fun & worth it. I’d probably play it again after several years. I’d give it a 7/10.

This is a pretty poor edition of the Sniper Elite series. This is my least favorite Sniper Elite game. No real changes from #5. Same European setting, same shooting mechanics, frustrating trying to find satchel charges and crowbars. This game is very short & not worth the money. I finished it & the **** DLC in 6 hours. It also doesn’t give you your overall stats- a major disappointment. Overall, I'll probably replay it again just to get more value out of it. But generally pretty disappointed! It give it about a 5/10.

I really wasn’t sure I wanted to play this game after some of the reviews. But I’m glad I did. It had a great story. It was almost like one of the movies. Great voice work by Troy Baker- really sounded like Indy/Harrison Ford. It was challenging at parts, but doable. However, it stayed too long in the main locations. A lot of going back & forth for missions. The guns were really useless. They caused an all-out attack by every **** around. They were also about impossible to control. My main complaint is that you can’t skip cut scenes. It was good in the end as they told the story, but I could have skipped many of them. Also, too many puzzles. But overall, I really liked it. I may buy it when it comes out on PS5. I’d give it a 8/10.

I really love the main game. I found this expansion to be pretty good overall. The story and combat were good. It seemed there was more focus on combat here than in the main game. It was harder to use vehicles in Dogtown & I ran to most places. Overall, I found it to be a pretty good experience and will probably play it again in a year or more. I’d give it a 8/10 or 4/5.

At first, I thought this game was really boring. Unlike the action/horror of the 1st game, this game is more of a slow detective story. Once I accepted that, I looked at it like a Telltale or Supermassive game. It was interesting playing as Alan and Saga, although it seemed to focus more on Saga. The story was good, and there is some action. There’s also some good puzzles. So overall, I liked the game. I don’t know if I’ll play it again or not- if so, it will be a few years from now. Overall, I’d give it a 7/10 or 3/5.

This is a good action/adventure game and I enjoyed most of my time with it. It just seemed pretty repetitive with the first games. Same enemy types, same combat, same location. I think it needs some major changes if there will be a third game. The formula is getting stale. I almost stopped playing about 4-5 hours in. There are some great set pieces and it almost plays like a movie. A bit too many long cut-scenes though. Overall I liked the game. Not sure if I’ll replay it or not. I’d give it a 6/10 or 3/5.

This is an action game kind of like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta. It has cell-shaded graphics that look like a cartoon/comic book. The gameplay is pretty good. There’s no real story, but the action carries the game. However, the enemies are pretty repetitive. Not a lot of variety except for bosses. It has a few annoying spots where you have to quick-time buttons to cause an action. It’s supposed to be a rhythm game, but I rarely worried about the rhythm and I came out just fine. Overall, I guess I enjoyed the game. However, I don’t think it deserves all of the high praise I’ve heard from some people. I doubt that I’ll play it again. I’d give it a 7/10 or a 3/5.

I was completely bored by the end of Chapter 3 and stopped playing at Ch. 5. And I knew there were 17 chapters. I just couldn’t keep going. I don’t want to be too critical of this game. I ended up liking it a lot. At first though, it was a bit slow. You didn’t get to the city for a while. It seemed like there were a lot of fetch quests- and I mean A LOT! But the story got better as the game went on. You also got more interesting items like the paraglider and the grappling hook. I ended up going with mainly the peacekeepers. You had to climb A LOT of buildings going with them! I don’t know if it was the same with the other choices. The combat was OK, and the enemies weren’t too bad- except the last boss. I had a pretty good ending on my run through. I spent nearly 32 hours with the game without doing any side quests. Overall, I recommend the game and I can see myself playing it again maybe in another year or so. I’d give it an 9/10 or 4/5. I don't know why this game is getting all the hate.

Horizon Zero Dawn was one of my all-time favorite games- it’s #11 on my all-time list. But I really wondered about Forbidden West at first. The graphics are great, the machines look really good, and there’s better movement mechanics. But at the beginning, the gameplay & story were a bit too boring and repetitive. There’s was a basic formula. Ride quite a way to a destination- which is either a village or a cave. At the village you just talk to the chiefs and get permission to go further west. In the caves you just find relics of the past civilization. There’s climbing, some challenges, and some puzzles. By about 9 hours in I thought I was going to stop playing. But then the game got better. It got more exciting with more action. It was better the farther west you go- like to Las Vegas & San Francisco. I would have liked more time in San Francisco. I waited 5 years for this sequel and thought it would be great. I’m altering my original rating to an 9/10 or 4/5.

I played and reviewed Cyberpunk in December 2020. I decided to give it another playthrough a year later in December 2021. I played it on the PS5 and really didn’t run into any technical issues. I think I saw one floating car- that was about all. The city still lacks enough pedestrians and cars to look like a lived-in location. On the positive side, I still found the story to be very engaging. That’s the best part about the game. I stuck mainly to the main story without playing too many of the side missions. I chose to pursue the ending with Rogue & it was a much better ending than the stock ending I got the first time around. I don’t know if we’ll ever get the promised DLC or PS5 version, but it’s worth playing on a next-gen console or high-end PC. I wouldn’t play it on the last gen consoles. Overall, I felt very satisfied with this playthrough. It was a very good experience. I would play it again sometime in the future.

GTA 3 is my #6 top game of all time! This is the game that started it all in 3d open world play. The game is really fun to go back to after many years away from it. It still holds up in 2021 as a playable experience. The missions are fun- and many are pretty short at the beginning. Several missions are pretty challenging. Overall it’s great to cause havoc in Liberty City! The Definitive Edition has taken some hits for its initial state. I played it after patches- and I only saw one floating car & one floating lamp post. There were also some pretty wild looking pedestrians in the game. There were no other glitches that I experienced. I’m glad I bought this and played it again. I will definitely play it again sometime in the future. GTA Vice City Definitive Edition- 12/24/21 GTA 3 is my #6 top game of all time! But I really debated between that & Vice City. This game is really my favorite GTA game. It’s aesthetics of the 1980s Miami are outstanding. It has my favorite soundtrack of any game ever. It also has perhaps the best voice cast of all time. It’s been a long time since I played it. Something that stood out is that the map is really quite small compared to today’s open world games. I can see why this was originally an expansion for GTA 3. But I love playing as Tommy Versetti. I really hope the rumors are true that GTA 6 might be partly set back in Vice City. I really didn’t see any glitches in the Definitive Edition- except some wild looking pedestrians. The only thing I don’t like about it is that you have to meet certain requirements to open up the last mission. I don’t like to have to grind just to be able to finish a game. Overall, it was a great experience to go back to. Definitely still enjoyable in 2021. I will play it again sometime in the future.

This is one of the most chill games I’ve ever played. The gameplay is interesting. It’s pretty mellow up until the end with some boss fights. It took me about 9.5 hours to complete- so not as short as some have said. With this being on Game Pass- you really can’t go wrong. I highly recommend it & I’d play it again sometime in the future.

This is my first time completing a Halo campaign. It’s a good-looking game. Both the interiors and exteriors look great. But that’s the best thing about it. The gameplay is sooo repetitive! Basically, go there, fight some bad guys, and push a button. Rinse & repeat over & over again! By the last two boss fights I was so tired of battling the same enemies that I was really sick of the game. Maybe this is all you can expect from a game that’s so heavily focused on the multiplayer aspect. Overall, I just found the game to be uninteresting. I don’t think I’d ever play it again.

I tried Hellblade several years ago on PS4. It had a game ending bug where I couldn’t progress in the game past the first part. I bought it on the Switch, but I never played it on there. When it came out for Xbox Series X, I thought this was the time. It’s a beautiful game in 4k with raytracing. It’s an intense game experience- especially with headphones on. The 3D audio is excellent. It’s an emotional game- but that’s a good thing. I like games that make you feel something. The only downside was that there were too many rune puzzles- they became kind of tedious. But other than that, I really enjoyed the experience. I’m glad there’s a sequel coming in at some point. It did add to the story of the Ghost. The main story was pretty good. The Eagle was a good enemy- not as good as Khan, but pretty good. The graphics and frame rate on the PS5 are exceptional! Perhaps the best looking game of all time! On the con side- this was pretty short at only about 5 hours for the main story. There were a few side quests- but they weren’t all that great. But I guess about as good as the main game. Overall I’m glad I played it. But with it’s short length I’m not sure it justifies the price. Will look forward to whenever a full sequel comes out.

It’s totally awesome to have Aiden Pearce back in Watch Dogs! I loved Watch Dogs #1- the best out of the series. It’s also great to have Wrench back from WD2. This is a better approach to a story than the main game. Having one or two key people instead of playing as anyone really makes the game & story better. You actually care about the characters. The missions are pretty interesting. They give you something different from the main game. My main critique is that it’s too short. I would have liked to have seen 10-15 hours for the main story. But it’s a DLC- so we take what we can get. You can also then play as Aiden or Wrench in the main game if you buy the full Season Pass. This was a great tie in to the past in the series & I’m glad I spent the money to be able to play this. Definitely recommend.

They attempted some open areas in the game- which I really didn’t care for too much. I especially hated the “skiff” in the snow & desert. Every time I came back to get on it- it wouldn’t work! I had to reload my save & try again. Very annoying. Some of the chapters were very long & the game could have moved ahead at a quicker pace. There are definitely pros & cons about this game. Pros- The game does look good- even on the Switch. It’s not top-notch 4k, but the graphics are pretty good. There are a lot of good courses to choose from. The career mode is pretty good. It presents a pretty wide variety of tournaments and courses. There are rivalries & sponsor contracts to pursue. There’s also pretty good player customization. You can create just about any type of player & clothing, etc. You can also create your own courses. This is a bit challenging on the Switch- and I don’t know if it’s better on other machines. Cons- The number 1 con for me is that you have to have an internet connection to play. I recently tried playing on an airplane and it would not let me play the game. This is very limiting and annoying. The number 2 con is that when you hit it in the fairway rough they only allow you to use a 5 iron in terms of hitting for distance. This is not realistic at all for PGA players who could easily hit woods from the rough for much greater distances. The 3rd con is that every once in a while it will randomly cause you to shank it short- and often into the water. I’m hitting exactly like I do all of the time- but it just randomly shanks it on me. Overall though, I like the game and have fun playing it. It’s not perfect, but it’s better than say Mario Golf Super Rush. This is the first golf game I’ve played in probably 10 years and I would recommend it as long as you are aware of some of the cons- especially having to have an internet connection to play.

This is definitely one of the best-looking games of all time- looks like a good Pixar movie. The 3D audio with the PS5 Pulse 3D headset is excellent!- especially in the city areas. I did find the adaptive triggers to be a bit annoying at times when I just wanted constant shooting. There’s a great opening full of action. The ending is also good & full of action. It definitely will lead to a sequel. But the middle part gets a bit repetitive. I started dreading going to the different planets because it was always the same activity. The enemies are not varied- especially mini-bosses which are exactly the same every time. I’m not the biggest fan of the Clank puzzles- although they were something different. They could’ve had more creative weapons. I did have fun most of the game, and I can’t say I hated it. It didn’t feel as much tailored for just kids as the 2016 game. Only took me about 10 hours to complete- without going for Platinum. Overall I think it’s a good game- and a great showcase for the PS5. I’d recommend it if you can get it on a good sale.

It stunk not finding a needed suit for the environment like the no-oxygen zone. The story is really lame and wants you to choose going for the light/good side. Although it looks open-world it’s really pretty linear with waypoints to next events. It has extremely long load times if you die on PS5. I did think the game environment looks really good. And I thought the combat was pretty good. But those are the only positives for me. It’s not really a AAA game. I’d say don’t waste your money or wait for a major sale. Bioware has come through for fans with this Legendary Edition of the best video game trilogy of all time. They greatly improved #1, and #2 & #3 never looked better. It’s great to have all of the DLC included. It was a great experience playing all of them back-to-back, did it in 6 days. I didn’t realize how much I missed these games. This is a great collection- that includes ME2- my 2nd highest rated game of all time! Mass Effect 1 Legendary Edition This is the first time I’ve played the full game of ME1 in 2021- but I’ve played #2 & 3 many times in the past. I liked #1 quite a bit, although it’s a bit short. There’s only a few main missions. It definitely adds to the Mass Effect story. There’s a bit too much time in the Mako, and too many elevators. The gameplay is much improved to be close to #2 & #3. The graphics are better- except human’s faces in cutscenes. Overall I liked it pretty well- it was better than I thought. I will play it again the next time I want to experience the Mass Effect world. Mass Effect 2 Legendary Edition Simply put- ME2 is one of the best games of all time! In my top 5. Shepard is at her best in this one. It’s great building your crew and going on loyalty missions for them. There’s such a wide variety of missions- never gets boring. It’s a great action rpg. There are great boss fights- but the worst enemies for me are those darn husks! It builds up to a great ending mission- although it stinks losing some of your crew. The 4k graphics look great- especially in several face models like Thane. It builds well off of ME1 and leads well to ME3. It’s the best in the series by far- but you should play all 3 games to truly experience the ME world. I’ve played this many, many times- and I highly recommend! RE8 is technically a sequel to #7. However, #8 doesn’t have the horror focus. I didn’t find any part to be scary except maybe the giant baby chasing you. This is a pure action game- FPS. It’s good at being an action game, but I missed the horror. There are a better variety of enemies than #7. There are some puzzles- but they are quite easy. And the game is easy overall. Like most RE games there’s quite a bit of backtracking. There are several twists and turns that I didn’t see coming- that was probably the best part. Although the ending had some over the top components- I found it to be satisfying. It’s a short game- only took me 6hours 39minutes first time, 2nd time took me only 4.5 hours skipping most cutscenes. Doesn’t seem to be worth the money. It does imply a sequel after the credits- but not with who you might think. Overall I’d recommend it if you like action/shooter games. But if you want horror, then it’s not going to fulfill that need. Didn’t really see a PS5 difference- not many opportunities for ray-tracing. But graphics in the castle were stunning. I didn’t think it was nearly as good as #7. I’d give it an 7/10 or 3/5.

I know most people love Monster Hunter, but I really don’t. It’s fun for the first few quests but then gets very repetitive and boring. All of the hunts are basically the same. And there’s only a few different locations- most are just within 1 or 2 locales. There is lots of action, but again, it’s very repetitive. Just not my kind of game. I can only give it an average score. There are a lot of better action games out there.

Before the Storm is the best LIS right behind #1 and 10 times better than #2. It’s more interesting playing with Chloe and Rachel than it is with Max (although I still love #1). The story of two rebels in the making is really cool. It shows how Chloe developed before the events of #1. There’s no time bending, but there are lots of choices to make. If you want an emotional story with lots of choices this game is for you. It holds up well even 3.5 years later. Also has a great soundtrack like all the LIS games. And the extra episode “Farewell” is a nice finish to the Max and Chloe story. If this is Deck 9’s best than there’s hope for LIS True Colors. Definitely recommend BTS!

Life Is Strange is an excellent game. It’s very emotional. There are lots of choices and opportunities for input. Much more than LIS2. The story of Max and Chloe is really moving. It portrays a best friend relationship really well. In the end Max learns the benefits and consequences of messing with time. It’s a great example of the butterfly effect. If you want an emotional story with lots of choices this game is for you. Excellent soundtrack as well! It holds up well even 5 ½ years later. Definitely recommend!

I really liked LIS2, but liked #1 better. #2 is full of emotions just like #1. I liked the story of Sean and Daniel and their road trip adventures. There are many twists and turns. They portray a pretty realistic brother relationship- especially at their ages. I did feel the story dragged on in different places. I often just wanted them to get to Mexico already. I felt #1 offered more choices overall, and it was a better paced story. There wasn’t a lot of extra downtime. But if you like LIS then you should play #2. It’s worth the ride with the Wolf brothers.

This is a pretty good game overall for the Switch. It has quite a bit of action. However the enemy types are not varied enough-except bosses. It gets a bit repetitive with the combat. I found the investigation activities to be pretty boring. I just wanted to get through them to get to more action. This is not the constant action of Bayonetta. The missions (Files) are very long- about 1-2 hours or more for each file. The final files are challenging. Overall I found it to be an interesting game and worth a shot if you can get a good deal on it.

The game starts out pretty exciting. There’s various means of fighting and even vehicles. But once it gets past the Factory it gets pretty slow and kinda boring. There are tedious fetch quests that are just not interesting. Sometimes it’s hard to know what you’re supposed to do next. I thought this would be non-stop action like Bayonetta- but it’s not. Not sure why it got such glowing reviews. At about 4 hours in I was ready to quit. I cannot recommend this game.

This is a high action game. I’m not the biggest hack & slash fan so this isn’t my favorite type of game. I found the beginning to be fun and exciting. However it quickly gets very repetitive. Basically go through either a crumbling city or the depths of Hell settings. The enemies are not varied with only about 4-5 different typical enemy types. Bosses are a bit better. This isn’t a difficult game as I don’t think I died once. Overall I wasn’t that impressed with it except the music is really good. I wouldn’t really recommend. I’m selling my copy.

This just isn't my type of game. I guess I don't like Roguelikes. I can't stand dying so often and restarting the whole game no matter how far you've gone. This game does look and play well on the Switch- so it's a good platform. Would be good if you like this type of game.

This is a “cute” game. It’s pretty short at about 6 hours. It’s a fun game with plenty of action. It has the main characters/voices from the films. The writing & dialog however are awful! So corny. Can’t believe they got the actors to do this. Their sayings are very repetitive during ghost fights. Bosses can be challenging toward the end of the game. Only died maybe twice as the npc’s can revive you several times. Overall though it’s a fun game that still holds up pretty well with the graphics. It’s worth a shot on the Switch.

Wasn’t sure I was going to buy this as it’s quite short- but glad I did. You could probably finish the game in a little over two hours but my playthrough was about 5-6 hours. The visuals are great- even on the Switch. Gameplay is also great- lots of stealth. Puzzles are appropriately challenging. Bosses are fun to deal with. Some parts can be frustrating as you have to time things just right. Can't give it a higher score because it's so short. Overall, a very fun and interesting game. Worth the money. I highly recommend it- give it a shot!

This is a fun and exciting game! It’s one of the most action-packed games on the Switch. Great fighting style. Quite a lot of different enemies and bosses- not just reused over and over. It’s a pretty short game- a little over 6 hours for me. The story is not much to speak of- but it’s not that important in this type of game. It’s a game I can see replaying again. I highly recommend!

This is a very fun game. It has 4 movies up through Jurassic World (doesn’t have Jurassic World 2). It takes about 14 hours or so to complete- did it in 2 days. It stays pretty close to the movies with the major scenes included. It’s a fun action-adventure game with interesting puzzles and lots of action. It’s appropriate for kids and adults. It’s great on the Switch, and even though the game is 5.5 years old the graphics are still quite good. The only downside is that I played Jurassic World first. Then to get to the Jurassic Park levels you have to start a new game and go through a pretty long prologue all over again. Should be just one place to go to whichever part of the game you want. Overall, a very fun and exciting game. I highly recommend it!

This game is extremely fun and interesting! I think it’s the BEST game on the Switch. Lots of action, puzzles, and boss fights. Can even be challenging for an adult. It builds on the difficulty as you go. Very interesting exploring all the floors of the hotel. Also lasts long enough to get your money’s worth- about 11 hours for me. I normally don’t give 10/10 ratings, but that’s how I feel about this game. I’ll surely play it again. Wish they made more games like this. Definitely recommend!!!

I’m sorry but this is one of the most BORING games of all time! It’s not great at all. You have to walk/run for miles before getting to an objective once you leave the first area. There are no horses to be found. The landscape is also barren- nothing to see or do between getting from one quest to the next. Then there’s the stamina system which stinks. You have to climb mountains to get to your destination, but you have to be careful you have enough stamina to do it. You even use stamina when paragliding which is ridiculous. The fast travel system is also terrible depending on where you need to go- there’s not always one even to get back to a place you’ve been before. Then there’s the one hit kills by enemies which also stinks. It’s so easy to die in this game, and I’m a very experienced game player. Overall I found the whole thing very frustrating- it’s not fun. Everyone says it’s one of the best games of all time- but I don’t give it more than a 1/5 or 1/10. There are so many better rpg’s out there- so don’t waste your time or money on this one!
