By the time Batman goes toe to toe with his greatest rival, he knows what — and who — he’s fighting for: not just a city, but a community; not just the pure of heart, but those who’ve lost their way; not just one victory, but a righteous crusade.

An improvement on the first season, with a bold new take on the Joker. Here’s hoping more crusading is in this Batman’s future.

Perfect testament to no matter how things change it stays the same grounding every thing and diving into the early Batman years. Even with the animation the instant reaction to moments the characters go through and what Gotham is on the verge off becoming can’t wait for season 3. Everyone is immersing into noir fully a black and white version of this would be amazing.

The second season once again relegates the superhero to the background; however, several of the villains' origin stories are deeply moving or compelling—particularly those of Poison Ivy and The Spectre—while the Joker's story is engrossing and even disturbing. Even with Batman on the periphery, there are several moments that explore his traumas and the persona he projects. Additionally, the series features some notably violent scenes.

While some one-off episodes do end up throwing season 2's pacing off, this season is overall an exciting new chapter for Hamish Linklater's colder Batman, with Batman: Caped Crusader making Bruce open up more.

Batman: Caped Crusader is and remains a fascinating thought experiment because it stands in opposition to other DC shows, but there might be limits to what stories can be told within this confined format. Nonetheless, Season 2 shows only reverence for the character, offering familiar lessons from a novel perspective.

Season 2 stands out both because of its strong handling of returning favorites like Harley Quinn and newcomers like the enigmatic Joker. That said, the series isn’t without its storytelling problems, some of them involving the fairly flat depiction of Batman himself.

Even Batman laughs more often than this Joker. I would have given it a 5, but I’m knocking off a point because of this character. It’s the worst version of the Clown I’ve ever come across.
