Furious (2026)

Rossum and Petticrew’s both richly embody the push and pull for their characters’ souls, while their supporting stars provide clear-eyed yet nuanced conviction to drive them toward a resolution. .... All together, their work takes a story you could claim you’ve heard before and turns it into superlative genre fare that will be hard to forget.

One of the year’s best and most thought-provoking titles so far.

“Furious” is imperfect and occasionally tests the viewer’s patience, but it is well worth watching. The performances are terrific, the writing grows increasingly complex, and the direction ultimately generates genuine tension.

An uncomfortable watch for us men. But such is this drama’s relentless, mesmerising power, it is impossible to avert your gaze.

A fantastic supporting cast and a dense, lean, evocative script make this television for grownups, television to pay attention to and to entertain you enormously.

It might not be the clear-cut cat-and-mouse thriller that marketing has made it out to be, but that only makes more room for what Furious best embodies at its most successful: a barely contained scream of female rage.

Unfortunately, Furious can’t manage to translate its righteous sense of indignation into a thriller that rewards its viewers with either pulse-pounding excitement or characters worth caring about.

One of the best series of the year, and it was barely talked about. In a sense, we are facing an adaptation of the Epstein case. A deep psychological exploration of the victims in the form of two protagonists on different paths that unexpectedly converge. Dark and extremely disturbing, the story shines with characters of ambiguous morals who inhabit a police and feminist thriller that is unconventional from beginning to end.

This was promoted as a mystery/crime thriller, with comparisons to *The Silence of the Lambs*. Yes, seriously. So you go in expecting mystery, suspense and tension, only to find yourself watching endless scenes of people talking about their traumas, their feelings, and their feelings about their traumas. There is a police investigation at the heart of the story, but that’s hardly the main focus. The real story is the drama surrounding the characters and their emotional baggage. Sad scenes, troubled people, trauma, more trauma, and lots of time spent exploring everyone's feelings. And there’s barely any sense of mystery or thriller throughout most of it. To be fair, things do get more interesting towards the end, and the investigation finally starts to feel more relevant. But by then, you’ve already sat through a story that could easily have been told in three or four episodes instead of eight. There is simply far too much padding, because Netflix seems to be in love with stretching things out. Maybe this just isn’t my kind of show. I can accept that. But if you’re going to market something as a mystery/crime thriller, you shouldn’t be surprised when people are disappointed to discover that it’s actually a drawn-out character drama with the investigation running in the background. Oh, and Scoot McNairy is excellent, as usual, while Emmy Rossum and Steve Way were both great discoveries for me.

It's watchable. I really like Quincy Tyler Bernstine. She keeps the show alive. Scoot McNairy is fine too. The rest of the actors are abysmal.

All characters are strong women who don't need a man. All men are incompetent or evil. There's no mystery or suspense. Rossum can't save this dumpster fire.

I DO NOT GET IT! I can maybe see the buzz over the trailer. But the actual show, not good. When I heard it was comparable to Killing Eve it became a must watch. Then I watched, do not get the comparison. Not good on so many fronts but the cardinal sin is comparing Catherine to Villanelle. Like comparing Darth Vader to M.O.D.O.K. in Antman and Wasp Quantumania. It may be me, but the episodes get worse. Based on the backstory it reminds me of the Twilight series as bad fan fiction being entertaining but critics being able to dissect it. Furious feels like the opposite. Critics laud it!? I think it is another indication that our overall tastes have gone the way of the Sony Laserdisc. Great but long gone.
