By the time A Plague Tale: Requiem concludes, it will feel like being dragged by a pick-up truck, across miles of concrete. The world depicted is a bleak and cruel one with no light at the end of the tunnel. Players will be getting their money's worth, as this is a very long game that is punctuated with lots of gimmicky sequences that add value to the package. The story does have a lot for fans to discuss, and the visuals are amazing, even if they came at the cost of a high frame rate. The gameplay is technically better than the first, but it was never amazing to begin with. The over reliance on prebaked contextual actions and the rigidness of simplistic stealth is something most could expect from a seventh gen console title, not a ninth gen console release.

If you are on a quest to find a video game that could make you cry, may your quest end right here. A continuation of a story that was fine on its own, Requiem delivers one of the most powerful stories ever conceived in a video game. But be wary of the framerate drops on the PlayStation 5 console, which bring their own set of unforeseen despair.

An essential purchase if you enjoyed Innocence, and an imperfect but gripping starting point if you missed it. Hopefully not the end of the tale. [Issue#21, p.80]

Goty of the year del año, realmente tiene un inicio flojo que casi me hace dejarlo pero a medida que avanza se vuelve un poquito cómo si fuera Uncharted/Tomb Raider, 10/10.

A Plague Tale: Requiem shows immense growth. It's a sequel that maintains the essence of the game and expands it, bringing a narrative experience that goes to unimaginable places as in the first game, in addition to gameplay that introduces new elements with each chapter.

The developers seem to have learned from the small mistakes of their first opus, especially on the gameplay. While the first title was considered too directional, this one is much less so, offering a much more aggressive approach. As for the scenario, it's a faultless one, the story faithfully follows the past events and transports the player as well in the terrible adventure of Hugo and Amicia. Still in France, the scenery will delight the friends of the little detail and will be able to be transported in the beauty offered by the south of our country. Will Amicia and Hugo finally find the peace they have been looking for? We strongly advise you to play the game to find the answer.

It feels like we are in a Thriller Movie. Lot of twists. It has the angle of love, combat, hatred. It shows to what extent one can ho for love and hate both.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is a fantastic game, expanding its framework in the right places through intricate themes and horror elements, weaving into what worked about the original while maintaining a voice of its own.

A Plague Tale Requiem is one of those sequels that are even better than the original entry. It upgrades everything that was already good on A Plague Tale Innocence and also corrects some of the mistakes from the first game. Although it still has some technical difficulties, it's an amazing experience, with great storytelling and fun gameplay.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is a solid follow-up to Hugo and Amicia’s haunting saga. The expanded scope offers deeper insight into the world and characters, even if some of the main plot beats don’t always hit the mark. Combat and stealth are improved over the original while the swarms of rats are as mesmerizing and threatening as ever. Just remember to stay in the light.

A Plague Tale: Requiem doesn't drastically alter the foundation set by Innocence, but by iterating on its strengths as a character-driven fable within an oft-ignored historical setting, tells yet another tale to remember.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is a sometimes compelling adventure weighed down by poor technical performance, and simple, frustrating and repetitive gameplay.

I had never heard a lot about the Plague Tale duology. Each game seemed to do well enough on release to get a little attention, but no friends I spoke with or channels I followed ever praised or scorned them, so I decided to take the plunge myself. Now I understand why I never heard much of these games… Unfortunately, there isn’t a lot to say. A Plague Tale Innocence is a dark and gritty stealth game with action elements. You trudge through a grotesque world overrun by rats and do your best to survive. Aside from some janky control schemes, the gameplay is largely inoffensive, mostly remaining linear with the primary focus being puzzle-solving. The story isn’t particularly charming, but does have occasional moments of enjoyment, mostly with the bond the brother and sister duo share as main characters. A Plague Tale Requiem makes great improvements, yet stumbles much more. The visual quality dramatically improves, as well as the art direction and score. The moments between characters are more meaningful, and the action elements become a lot stronger. With a bit more exploration added, this was seemingly a recipe to surpass its predecessor, which it was in everything… Except story. Despite adding new and more interesting characters, Requiem somehow seemed to go backwards on the entire buildup from Innocence. If the theme of the first game’s story was hope, the theme of the second game was hopelessness, and it left a terrible taste. Story and a bad ending aren’t normally enough to ruin an entire game (let alone two), but when the narrative is the only reason to play, it feels like a wasted experience. While I enjoyed the cinematography of Requiem and moments between the characters, I feel as though I’m walking away with nothing to show for my time spent with these things. I’m no richer for the experience, only much sadder. While I am uncertain if I believe I completely wasted my time, I’m still compelled to encourage everyone who may have read this not to waste theirs.

i think it is basically same with the first game slingshot is good however if you are going to play to games in a row like me at the end of the second game you just beg to finish the game story is okay but boredom of the game shodows it. its basically the same game

This made me reallly confused. Great story, graphics, and soundtrack. But the gameplay is boring as F. Sneaking around and throwing rocks for hours. I got really annoyed and frustrated from chapter 10.
