The only downside to this year’s game, as with The Golf Club, are the visuals. Even knocking balls about a clifftop woodland can feel sterile. But then the game offers an easy-to-use course creator and all is forgiven. Placing accessibility on par with accuracy, this is a golf sim so realistic you can smell the freshly laundered acid-blue chinos. [Issue#180, p.72]

PGA Tour 2K21 borrows a lot from its Golf Club predecessors. By adding a helpful tutorial and many aids, HB Studios have made the game accessible to newcomers, while retaining higher difficulty levels for returning golf fans. PGA Tour 2K21 is the most all-round golf game currently available.

This was provided as a ‘free’ game by having the PlayStation Plus subscription, I would never have played except for that. I don’t golf or typically watch golf but after watching some of the Masters on TV I tried this on a whim. I am enjoying it quite a bit, since I am a complete novice I started with low difficulty and the game provided a very enjoyable but simplistic approach. I have slowly been able to increase the difficulty as I learn the game and mechanics. The user generated courses make it such that almost course is playable even if not officially licensed. My main gripe is the announcer is extremely repetitive and fairly dull even by golf standards. Between watching the Master and this game I might even take some real lessons and get schooled, but hey getting out of the house would be a plus.

This game should be called bad caddy simulator, as the challenge does not come from timing your swings or reading the greens properly, but rather from the game constantly choosing the wrong club for you.

PGA Tour 2K21 is almost a hole in one on the PlayStation 4 and is definitely one of the best golfing games in years! Kudos to the developers and 2K for creating something fun, addictive and quite memorable!

For golf lovers, it is great. Especially cool for an evening game with club lovers like you. The graphics are excellent, the gameplay is decent.

From a pure gameplay standpoint, PGA Tour 2K21 delivers a strong enough experience to satisfy fans, and the course designer is fantastic. However, the game falls more toward the average because of its bland career mode, modest list of licensed golfers, and out-dated graphics.

In between some of the most frustrating moments I’ve had with any sort of game in quite some time, PGA Tour 2K21 flashed with hopeful, brilliant optimism. As long as it worked, hitting the links and knocking down a few holes felt as good as it ever has. And the course creator is one of the best things I’ve seen come to a sports game in a long time. But it’s hard to recommend something that chewed up and spit out nearly a day of my life, leaving me with nothing to show for it. Either way, it’s without question that the newly invigorated, and now former, Golf Club series is sitting at the base of a mountain made from potential. Though, it may be a hell of a climb getting to the peak.

This game is really decent despite obvious flaws. I find the gameplay quite fun and I appreciate the customization and the difficulty adjustment (For exemple, I turned off the swing timing as for me, it broke the game...) The graphics are bad and I think there are major anti-aliasing problems or something like that...(on a big screen TV, it is pretty obvious when they present the different holes). However, I still continue to play a few times and enjoy the most of it

The graphics in this game are hardly an improvement from the previous game. You would think with the developers having a publisher with more money than the publishers they had before, we would be seeing better graphics. Unfortunately, the developers are too greedy and lazy to improve the graphics. That being said, the gameplay is amazing in this game. The physics are great and you can create your own course with advanced customization options and neat props. The career mode could have been better.

It had been a while since I played a golf game. I really wanted to like this one, but unfortunately it is crap. The game is made virtually unplayable by the hit sticks. The only way you can play this game is by dumbing down the swing difficulty to the easiest level. Putting is brutal, where even 3 foot puts are very difficult to make. These should be gimmie puts, but the game will punish you if you cannot create a perfect swing. The game looks great and surely is customizable, however the swing mechanics (the core of any golf game) are crappy, brutal and punishing. BTW if you want to play online competitively, the default setting for online play is **** good luck hitting the fairway consistently. Bring back Hot Shots Golf on PS4.
