President Andre Curtis is just a man with a powerful title, surrounded by characters who are just trying to be people in spite of their extraordinary abilities and abnormal jobs. It’s a big part of what makes President Curtis ridiculous, relatable, and eminently watchable.

Ultimately, President Curtis does not live up to the high bar of Rick and Morty, but it shouldn't try to.

I don't know what everyone else's problem is, if it isn't your style that's OK, but the pilot is absolutely hilarious.

“President Curtis” delivers more on dependability than strict innovation, though that may be what both viewers and a parent corporation looking to beef up its IP reserves on the cusp of a potential merger want.

Through the full 10-episode first season, President Curtis never becomes sharp enough to create a fervent cult of its own, but as a quirky diversion, it offers a reasonable amount of amusement.

President Curtis is a decent Rick and Morty spinoff, but one whose appeal proves limited. By focusing so much on Curtis tackling the sorts of misadventures that escape Rick Sanchez’s notice, the series plants itself in the shadow of its parent and never fully emerges.

This type of show should have been left in 2016. Instead of having a single likeable character, everyone's a quirked up one-liner factory. The animation is barely passable. Think modern Simpsons, just cookie-cutter mass-produced slop. It's even worse when compared to the fantastic animation in the newer R&M season. I also can't think of a character from Rick and Morty less deserving of a spin off show than the already-dated-by-season-two Obama parody character. Any (attempted, none are very funny anyway) jokes about the presidency feel super old and not incredibly relevant. Even though I'm not asking for a South Park-style takedown of the current guy, I'm asking for something, anything that attempts to push boundaries or even a single joke that made me laugh. I couldn't find either. I can't steer enough people away from this abysmal excuse of a show that seems to only exist to stock the Funko Pop wall of your local game store.

Who wrote this? A manic schizophrenic overdosing on Adderall? Slow down. Don't drink that 4th energy drink or have that 5th rail of coke. You botched an easy win.
