While it sorely lacks world-building and suffers from dialogue that has far too many hollow one-liners, the movie offers a surprisingly emotional and deeply philosophical reflection story on the human condition. And what it lacks in world-building and fleshed-out dialogue, it makes up for in visual spectacle galore through cutting-edge CGI that still hold up well nearly 2 decades later!

Greetings from Lithuania. "TRON: Legacy" (2010) was a good looking movie back when it came out to see in 3D. Visually it still looks great upon re-watch in 2022 on home cinema. Which you can't say about first movie which i also saw - that movie did not aged well to say the least - it looks awful."TRON: Legacy" on the other hand while not being a masterpiece for sure on its own, is a better entertainment. It has good plot, interesting ideas and visually it looks great. Music by legendary Daft Punk adds a lot to this movie. Soundtrack is actually one of the very best you can listen to.Overall, "TRON: Legacy" is a good movie. Not a great one, but good one. Sad it didn't got a sequel because its box office wasn't that good - it was only a modest success. If we will get one someday in the future, i will definitely would check one out.

a well-legacyed legacy. 'tron: legacy' is a sequel that, from the very beginning, understands what it means to continue a legacy. it connects directly with the original 1982 film while also proposing a new story that modernizes its universe. from the first minute, it makes clear that its biggest bet is visual spectacle: an impressive technical leap that turns the digital world into a true aesthetic delight. the use of cgi is dazzling, with art direction and cinematography that verge on hypnotic. however, the deepfake used to de-age jeff bridges hasn't aged that well. at the time it was a technical achievement, but today you can notice how experimental the attempt was. still, it remains an interesting detail from an era when these kinds of effects were just emerging. narratively, it's not an especially deep story, but it maintains the rhythm and keeps the viewer's attention. it is simple, yes, but it knows how to balance action, emotion, and spectacle. the cast performs solidly, and although it is somewhat ironic that a movie called 'tron' barely includes tron for a few minutes, his symbolic presence justifies the title in a way. the subtitle 'legacy' makes sense as it reflects both the heritage of the original classic and the attempt to reinterpret it for a new generation. it may not follow the same narrative line as its predecessor, but it does preserve its essence: fascination with technology, cyberspace, and identity. in short, 'tron: legacy' works as a sequel that borders on a reboot: it respects the spirit of the original while daring to reinvent itself visually. it may not be brilliant narratively, but it is an immersive experience that demonstrates how a movie can be both a homage and a reinvention. spanish: un legado bien legado.

Solid build on the last movie. Overall, improved on many parts of the storyline. Many surprises across the movie; it could have just been a lazy cash grab, but it kept me engaged the whole time. The grid was very well fleshed out. It felt like its own universe.

The Tron series as a whole really deserves more respect and admiration as a whole for what is has done for the film industry. Tron: Legacy is a fantastic film made nearly 30 years after the original, and captures the amazingly atmospheric world perfectly for a modern world. Bringing Jeff Bridges back was an excellent choice. Daft Punk making the soundtrack for this is phenomenal. I love the aesthetic of Tron, and really hope it can continue after Ares. However, that one isn't getting the love it deserves either.

TRON: Legacy is visually stunning, even to this day. It manages to continue the story from the first while being fresh at the same time. Also, Daft Punk's electronic soundtrack is amazing, contributing well to the atmosphere. While it lacks the same charm of its predecessor, it’s still worth a watch.

Barring the extremely uncanny de-aging effects used in the film, the visual effects are exceptional, they still look better than many movies released 15 years later! The score by Daft Punk is absolutely phenomenal as well. While CLU is an entertaining villain, the story and characters remain somewhat weak, a problem that the original 1982 film also had. The pacing also drags a bit in the second half.Still, a lot of potential for a sequel! It’s not like we will get a sequel 15 years later right???

Years later, TRON: Legacy and Joseph Kosinski’s craftsmanship continue to gain appreciation. With its blend of electronic minimalism and symphonic electronic music, the film brought a distinctive audiovisual experience to the 21st century, reinventing the 1982 sci-fi classic in a strikingly modern form.

"TRON: Legacy" is definitely better than in scale with better visuals but the story is a bit incoherent in a way that doesn't measure up to what it could've been.

Great visuals and while not as uniquely distinct as the first movie it just looks better and a pretty good story and they nail the setting with some pretty good and fitting music for the setting and story they were going for

The world of Tron is such an interesting thing for me, on one hand, it's visually stunning and full of intriguing technology, a digital landscape that's undeniably cool, on the other hand, the origins of this world have always felt a bit silly to me, dare i say it, stupid, somehow, Flynn manages to create an entirely new form of life inside a digital universe of his own design, at the same time, he also accidentally or not, couldn't really explain exactly how everything works in this world, create an evil regime, and a villain that at the end cost his own life, Clu, his own creation, it's quite ironic, and i can't get that logic out of my head with the first Tron and Tron: Legacy, it's a cool world with problematic origin. That said, Legacy is definitely a step up from its predecessor, it offers a stronger story, better character development, and emotional depth that was largely missing from the first film, the action sequences are visually impressive, the goals of the characters are more engaging, and the performances are solid, the de-aged technology as we know nowadays is getting better, and for one of the earlier in its development, it looks fine, it often feels more like watching a CG characters rather than a convincingly younger Jeff Bridges. At 2 hours and 5 minutes, i found myself enjoying the film overall, while i'm still not completely sold on the Tron universe beyond its cool aesthetics and tech, Legacy manages to deliver characters and story that serves better than the first one, so overall, Tron: Legacy is an ok one, it may not be groundbreaking or incredible, but as a long-awaited sequel, it does just enough to satisfy.

TRON: Legacy is one of those rarities where a big branded studio took a gamble, had all the cards lined up, and still didn’t win a big jackpot. However, none of that matters! Yes this movie did quite poorly, but the absolute following this movie has and the movements it inspired… I don’t think there is another movie as impactful as TRON: Legacy that we have seen since Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter… Not only did Daft Punk bless the world with the greatest movie score soundtrack of all time, but we got visuals that were bold and new for 2010. Having Clu be a younger Jeff Bridges is such a bold visual choice, that despite it’s aging has still held up exceptionally well and arguably looks better than the Leia cameo in Rogue One… A movie is not only meant to be a reflection of art and a form of enjoyment, another theme is fun, and that’s what this is. Fun… Pure un-adulterated, unapologetic, unashamedly fun! There are people who I know who live and die this movie, who quote it to kingdom come, who got into motorcycles because of the opening scene with the Ducati or the light cycle scenes… Hell the fans loved it so much, that a decade and a half later we are finally getting TRON: Ares because of the fan devotion this movie garners. This movie isn’t a masterpiece, but it’s a piece of entertainment that’s uniqueness brings a charm to itself, that few films are able to achieve.

This is a much better film than I remember! I saw it when it came out at the cinema and although it was a decent film, I was underwhelmed. All these years later though, and having watched Tron the day before, it was great! The story is still relevant, and the special effects and pace of the film make it fly by. An excellent watch! Clearly the special effects of making someone look younger than they are have moved on quite significantly since when this film was released, but I still loved it! I'd watch it again definitely!

Nota: 80/100 - Muito bom.

A fascinating combination of stylized production designs and visual effects, casting, soundtrack and existential concepts. Its very entertaining especially on my 85inch TV in 2024! Story is the weakest area of this film IMO but it serves its purpose well enough.

There are some movies we should leave in our childhood. Tron is one of them. I remember returning from the supermarket with my parents when I was a kid. I didn’t have internet, nor cable TV, but sometimes the “Telecine” channels were available. In case you don’t know, those channels streamed movies all day, like… 24/7. It was a dream to have it, but my parents couldn’t afford it. That day, I was lucky. Every day those channels were free, I enjoyed as much as I could. While my parents packed up the groceries, Tron was on TV. That happened more than 10 years ago, but I still remember this scenario. The colors, theme and overall atmosphere of this movie was outstanding at that time. As a child, I can tell you this cinematography was damn impressive. However, I tried to watch it again this week and goddamn, it is boring. The visuals are still good, but the lack of 4K and HDR made them not half as impressive as they could be, even on an OLED. Fight scenes feel gimmicky and the plot itself disappoints and does not hold up to the pretty good premise. That's a shame. I hope the new Tron can bring me a little bit of that good feeling I had in the past.

So much hate on this film but I personally think this is one of my favourite films of all time. The story, the characters and the soundtrack. Hands down the best soundtrack in any film ever made.

I have never seen the original 'Tron' nor do I know anything about it. I went to see it without reading or researching much about it and I am glad I didnt, this movie perhaps has the best virtually stunning scenes and the camera work and direction were absolutely beautiful, I was continuously amazed by it as the movie keeps on, however, the story and the characters not really lived up for the expectation, there was a lot of things they could have improved in this department and made it more unique but at the end its became like many other generic stories even though the begging of the movie it was actually thrilling and interested. Though with all these flaws I do still recommend watching it, simply for the visual and the thrill 7/10.

Could a Tron sequel finally materialise after all these years? They got Jeff Bridges back for it since it really did happen. Even while part of the CGI employed to create his visage (which you have undoubtedly already seen in the trailer) is not entirely believable, it still manages to look excellent. It was a good idea to keep the 3-D away from the "actual" environment and to not abuse it (though there are still quite a few people who argue it was not really necessary at all). Excellent cast, and Jeff B. clearly enjoys revisiting a role (for the first time ever, exactly as I like to say, and it's true).

Despite an slow pace and fairly thin story, this movie manages some real heart and maintains a soulful atmosphere with the help of its surreal visuals and incredible soundtrack that I have always loved this movie. Not as groundbreaking as the original, sure, but it's more than worth a watch- and honestly I'd put it on par with my enjoyment of the 1982 cult classic.

This movie deserves more attention. At the ages of MCU and Star Wars, I didn't hear lot of people talk about this movie. I've watched this movie at the young age, and I love every moments of it. 10/10!!!!

I really liked the original Tron, so I was curious about the next installment, which was made several years later. I was impressed! Especially the effects. The ravages of time have really made their mark here and you can see that it's not the Tron of the 80's anymore, but a new 10's movie. The effects are logically several levels higher than then and the action much better. It was a feast for the eyes to watch and I even wondered at one point if it would surpass the original film. Well. Maybe, just maybe, it would have surpassed it, or at least had a chance, but Tron: Legacy has one problem in my opinion, and that's the pacing. While the beginning is a big load of action and you're gobbling up all the effects, it slows down after a while and unfortunately there's hardly any speeding up, so you'll be watching a slower pace for the rest of the film, which is a shame for a film with such wonderful effects, especially when we've had the chance to see such delicious action and it doesn't really pick up except for the ending. Otherwise, for me, a good film that I can recommend, especially to those who have seen the previous one from the 80s. Looking back at the playroom from the last film after a few years is pretty nostalgic.

I genuinely loved this film. This is by far the best video game story of the past two decades, and is undeserving of a 49 score - that is way too low, critics were clearly asleep.

TRON: Legacy is a lot better than the first one but it's not an amazing movie. The movie's got a very basic story, decent acting, some weak dialogue, alright effects, weird pacing, a forgettable villain and a beautiful soundtrack which was done by Daft Punk.

Once you take away the visuals and the music and Jeff Bridges, nothing else besides remains. I give it 3 (for each of the visuals, music and Bridges). No plot, no character, no suspense, nonsense. What is wrong with Disney these days ruining its franchises? The original while not amazing is refreshing and new.

I have some nitpicks, specifically some of the characters not being that interesting, the film being dampened by the amount of exposition, lack of entertainment, and the visuals being washed out with those lights being white instead of blue. But it's actually pretty good tbh.

The "Critic" score for this movie is absolutely stupid. This is a great movie, with a great soundtrack, and great visuals. The 49 this movie currently has makes no sense aside from the fact that some hipster critics want to seem edgy by giving a popular movie a crappy review.

A movie that is deserved much better than what it got, The camera work is good nice Angels and the storytelling photo camera is also good ,I have no idea what I'm talking about but that what I felt , But I can tell you that that score was amazing and Daft Punk kicked it out of the park with this one, And the theme of Farowship is really good and nice and touching moments all around , I would truly recommend it

Do you have to completely understand a film to completely enjoy it? It is a question I had to ask myself after watching Tron: Legacy. Despite being released twenty-eight years after the first film, the sequel only offers a brief recap of the original film, and doesn't really provide enough information for those of us who haven't seen the first movie. That being said, what I gathered was that Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges) created the most popular video game of it's time, which launched a billion dollar company, but it was more than just a game. There was also a virtual world where life and death battles took place and control of the real world was at stake. Somehow Flynn was trapped by his alter-ego, Clu, and stuck there, until his son, Sam (Garrett Hedlund), receives a message all these years later, and discovers his fathers secret world and also becomes trapped inside. Granted I don't really understand why this world was created in the first place, how "the bad guys" were created, or even who Tron actually is. Never the less, I still enjoyed the action the film has to offer, as well as the incredible special effects. The truth is that for a PG Disney movie, this was an incredibly complicated story, and the real appeal here was the special effects, which were revolutionary ten years ago. As for the cast, I really liked Garrett Hedlund, I thought he had a big future ahead of him, after Four Brothers, but for some reason he doesn't do many films like this and I don't run into him too often. Jeff Bridges on the other hand seemed very disinterested in reprising his role, almost as if he was doing it for a big pay day. Not to mention, the digitized younger alter-ego, Clu, was more than somewhat creepy. Overall, I really didn't get the point of the film, but it was entertaining enough and it killed a few hours, exactly what I was in the mood for at the time I watched it.

This movie was visually stunning. The actors brought me in and the creativity was off the charts cool. And of course the music was great. This film was a treat. My big issues were that the extended scenes don't merge into the film, which pulled me out of the film. The plot also doesn't allow me to watch this movie too often because whilst the acting and visual effects and the action were stunning, the story around the conclusion of the film gave up the ghost.

while the characters and story are nothing that special, the movie has some of the greatest CGI and design I have ever seen. It also has the greatest movie soundtrack of all time. Even with the decent at best writing, the acting is great. Now about the CGI, even if avatar has technically the best CGI of all time, it is extremely uninspired and very generic, however tron legacy has the most original and clean design I have ever seen. All the critics who say this movie is bad just because it doesn't have the greatest story or deepest characters are full of crap. There is a place for all of that, but would you have preferred a slightly better story, if it meant trash design. If i want a good story, the place i go to is a book. The story and characters is the only thing they have. Anyway enough of my rambling, watch this movie, it is an amazing, breathtaking, and revolutionary movie.

Slow paced, but not as slow paced as the first Tron thankfully. Really nice visuals with a beautiful haunting musical score. The bad guys uncanny valley face can be immersion breaking at times. I really enjoyed the rest of direction of this Tron revival. A cautionary tale of be careful of what you ask for and wish for user. One of those magical cinematic experiences for sure. Compared to the thesedays this movie has aged well and bumped up in rating.
