A decent add on to the the Avatar franchise. After watching all 3 movies now I can't help but feel that both The Way of Water as well as Fire and Ash would be better placed in a TV Show format. Both movies are extremely long and the scene hit moments never last long enough before the next scene to take full effect. Fire and Ash is much better than it's predecessor but still feels way too long to hit home - it is just more of what we've seen already in truth. The fire tribe was a cool addition and show more about the Navi in terms of culture clashes and religious doctrines. There's a slight pull on Eywa with this movie but I feel it could of been explored into more. The same can be said for the 'human' plot point - there's a massive implication from it but there's no moment that reigns in how important it is. I did enjoy this movie and I hope the future projects aren't canned. However, there is definitely a drop in from following the original.

I thoroughly enjoyed each characters portrayal and identity across the film - everyone was intriguing enough to keep the guessing going. Although this is supposed to be Daniel Craig at the front and centre, the main role of the Priest was the most entertaining; I don't think I like Craig as the Louisianan detective in truth. The plot was nice and as the pieces come together you feel satisfied with the end result. An entertaining detective movie with a great cast and interesting premise.

An enjoyable movie out of a fair average character. Ant-man is definitely better in a supporting role, but the film manages to make him star in his own right. They don't pretend to make him bigger than what he is (ha ha), but they lean into Paul Rudds silly comedy and turn it into a goofier Mission Impossible - and it works. An all round good family movie that does it's job to introduce you to another superhero.

Following from the success of the previous Avengers film, this movie acknowledges the stakes and forms a 'realistic' story in which the cast comes to terms with the wider Marvel universe. More unique heroes and villains are introduced and action continues to impress. The introduction of Ultron was really well done and have cemented him as a top tier antagonist within the MCU. Marvel haven't missed the mark whatsoever and keep the party going with this one.

Stereotypical perfection of English and American personification. Both Cena and Elba showcase a very highly energetic, over the top American and a sarcastic and grumpy Englishman. The story is fairly generic but it's just a humoristic action movie at heart, and plays into that very well. The fighting sequences are great and the comedic hits don't overstay their welcome. Enjoyable and hosts a great cast - hopefully a sequel is in the pipeline somewhere.

Primitive War is a fairly decent dinosaur romp, a rare occurrence these days. Nothing quite beats Jurassic Park but you can get a decent prehistoric kick from this. The special effects are actually really good, and apart from the worlds worst Tyrannosaurus chomp sound FX, the audio quality is great. Worth a once over.

An entertaining movie broadening the scope of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As far as I can recall the Guardians of the Galaxy weren't too well known besides the traditional Marvel Comics fanatic. This movie completely changes that introduces the ragtag group of heroes to the public eye. Pretty much all 5 of this starting group are now staple names across modern culture and with good reason. Although the movie has it's predictability issues, the acting is top notch, the comedy is well timed and the action is fun and flashy. A great family movie away from your traditional superheroes and definitely worth the watch.

Seeing some of my favourite comic book superheroes unite and come together on the big screen for the first time in 2012 was a landmark moment in cinema history. Every character showcases their own personalities and traits impeccably well that, even though some of these characters have already had their own developments from their own respective movies, they continue to shine individually and on the broader scale together. The plot builds on what's already been partially established and pushes the scope further for the MCU. The Avengers is a fun and engaging superhero film and a must watch for all the family.

Fantastic origin movie for one of the greatest superheroes. This movie nails Caps origin story, and although there are so many world war movies, it still keeps the setting fresh and enjoyable. The main characters are memorable, the action sequences are entertaining, and each scene carries weight. The standard hero tropes are in full effect with Marvels golden child, but you still feel compelled to walk away a better person.

Where it all began. This is an all time classic superhero movie and really starts the MCU off strong. Develops the character with somewhat a 'realistic' storyline and pays homage to the characters roots. The action is well timed and impactful, the CGI holds up really well, and each character has a purpose to the movie. Some subtle nods to the future of the MCU thrown in there too; nothing overbearing as some of the more recent cameos that get shoehorned in, but things that show a bigger picture. All in all, a big recommendation and a fantastic beginning to one of the best franchise runs in cinema history.

We all love Bumbleebee, and the little yellow Autobot gives us more reasons to root for him with his own movie here. Whether it's his choreographed CGI fight scenes, his awkward and quirky interactions with the main cast, or his goofy funny moment, 'Bee' is a real spotlight of entertainment. His human companion and primary protagonist Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), was really good throughout the movie too. She sells the right emotions and actions throughout her scenes. The rest of the 'human' cast however, are all very rigid, dull or extremely irrelevant. The somewhat forced romance partner of 'Memo' has no purpose in the movie, no scenes change with or without him in it and his only "I can do it" moment is brushed over in less than 3 seconds. Aside from an extremely ignorant and poor military presence (including a stupid family chase scene), the story is fairly strong, the cgi is great and the fight scenes are outstanding. The Transformers franchise adds a very good family movie and a great prequel to its anthology - or soft reboot depending on who you ask...
