I can't describe how much I wanted to want to like this based solely off of the cameos and throwbacks to the whole of the Snyderverse and beyond - . . . but, I just couldn't do it. The comics were obviously seen as no credit to the horrible storytelling and disgusting mismanagement of the storyline and DC properties available . . . I wanted Keaton to be the saving grace but even his performance was goofy and nothing more than schlock on schlock when it came to an attempt to tie in a cohesive story out of this mess of a multiverse of madness. God this movie just couldn't end fast enough for the fastest man in the universe!

Gave me a fair few chuckles early on. Some of that CGI oof though. It was cool to see a Keaton Batman again. Shame we didn't see more of that Supergirl also. The movie goes from fun comedy light to hard to watch tragedy. Some of the humor seemed inappropriate for the 12 rating. That kind of humor with that ending this isn't really a 12 year old kids fun jolly Superhero movie. I personally enjoyed the darker tone and adult humor of The Flash. Well this is one and only movie that can explain away the spaghetti mess transition from Synderverse to Gunn's DC vision. So The Flash is kind of a fitting end for that one era I suppose? I will miss the Synderverse, but I am enjoying Peacemaker and have enjoyed the 2025 Superman. The new spaghetti strand of the DC multiverse.

As a die hard flash fan,I HATE this film, the writing was dreadful, the actors were horrible. My main problem is, the flash himself, suit TERRIBLE,not even comic accurate, ezras build, NOWHERE LIKE BARRY ALLEN, Barry allen isn't skinny and scrawny, he's lean and muscly,Barry or any of the flashes have brown hair or look like, well THAT, terrible filmdidn'thave any good villains like the rogues or reverse flash. I suffered the whole way through.

An unwelcome, superfluous, parasitic addition to the Snyderverse. Target demography are probably 12 year olds that don't mind cringy cgi.

I do really love this film and I've watched it around 5 times. And I am not big on super hero movies anymore. I will go ahead and say that Ezra Miller did an amazing job in this movie. I know he's not a good person. But you cannot deny a good performance. And that ending gets me every single time. It has some bad CGI moments mixed with some great ones. And a few cringe lines that should've been left out. I think it is better than your average super hero movie. But unfortunately, I don't think it's gonna get much love because of the actor that portrays Barry Allen. If you can seperate the art from the artist, I highly recommend it to you and it is worth the watch.

85% wish it was better but still enjoyed it but should of been more focused on the flash but it went into more of the multiverse not the flash and his mom

The Flash has raucous action with immense enthusiasm. The return of Michael Keaton Batman was one that was exciting to see.

As a DC fan and long time Flash fan I have been waiting for a Flash movie for a very very long time. Wasn't a huge fan of Ezra Miller's childish acting and his goofy running in Josstice League and still not a fan of him in real life but he is a great actor so was looking forward to seeing what he could do . The movie starts of with action immediately in present day with Barry being more experienced but still the little dude of the League. Paints a nice picture of what could have been if the rest of the DCEU didn't collapse . So much amazing potential was lost because of poor studio decisions and bad scripts. Once we get into the two Barry's then we really see Ezra's acting ability take off, a ton of funny moments a ton of silly goofy moments and a ton of emotional moments. Barry 1 is a completely different Barry, he seems much older ,much wiser, much more concerned with what he has done by going back in time. He almost becomes that older brother and takes everything seriously. Barry 2 is really childish and silly and at times I felt like punching him in the face just to say shut up but for the movie it works. It creates two different versions of Barry and adds to the fun factor. Enter...Keaton's Batman It was great seeing Keaton again, when I pictured an old Batman on screen I thought we would have seen it in a Batman Beyond movie or series but was still great to see him and all the classic vehicles/gadgets and the Batcave. Once again he played the leader role instantly and had some really cool action scenes. I doubt any normal 70 year old would ever be able to move the way he does but he is BATMAN Enter ...Supergirl Here we see Kara in a twist to one of the Flaspoint stories and she is basically there to help them with ZOD and rest of the Kryptonians. Kara is a bad ass and really pissed off after being held captive (not a spoiler). Since I am always House EL and I stand for HOPE I always get a burst of happiness flow through my spine when I see the symbol of Hope. I would love to have seen her in her own movie or alongside Kal EL in a Man of Steel 2 movie but it is what it is and hopefully James Gunn has some good plans for her down the line. Multiverse..... We see the multiverse take strain after certain decisions and we see bits and pieces of other worlds both past and present and how much history DC has. It brings together the strings to show audiences that all past, present and future can all be linked once the new DCU gets off the ground . VFX Besides some wonky vfx in certain scenes spread out throughout the movie most parts are done really well especially the two Barry's being on screen all the time together. Having speedsters means there is going to be VFX from start to end and they did a pretty good job, not amazing but pretty good in showcasing the Flash and his powers. If you watched the CW series , you would know some of his powers but here we see it done even better. Overall the movie flowed quiet nicely, it wasn't the best comic book movie ever or the best DC movie but it was pretty good and better than most comic book movies in the past 2-3 years. It had a ton of action, funny moment's, emotional moments, happy moments and ends off leaving you wanting to see what happens next. There is no mid credits but an end credits so you can stay until the very end .

A frankensteinian monster of constant regime changes, script redos and a studio that has no idea what it's doing.

This is one of the few cases where the trailer promises a decent movie but the movie itself fails on every count. From the awful CGI-vomit action to misplaced humor, it's a mess of nostalgia and tone-deaf heroics. It doesn't help that this is tied so strongly to Zack Snyder's vision for DC movies, which is already defunct. At least the cast is trying, but having Ezra Miller as the lead is really tasteless

This is what I’d argue as the biggest blunder of the year. The final potshot at anyone still trying to take the DCEU seriously. The Flash is a steaming pile of ****. But you knew that. This film is pretty widely acknowledged as kind of embarrassing. They tried to salvage it- they begged any and every person they knew to tell us it was good. To try and convince us. But we knew better. Can I even say anything on this movie you haven’t heard before? The special effects are terrible. The fight scenes boring as sin with the same feel as smacking action figures together. The characters are either annoying jokes or so painfully underutilized that none of them feel like they matter. Cause they don’t. The story’s so half-assed that every decent idea feels like it was put through multiple blenders on its way out. But like I said, you knew that. This film is a punching bag, and it deserves it.

This was mostly painful to get through. At least 2 times I paused the movie and contemplated if I wanted to finish it. The story is weak and actually pointless. The characters are poorly written. The actor who plays Flash is somewhat annoying and simply can't carry an entire movie. About the only thing that was entertaining was seeing Michael Keaton come back as multiverse Batman. The CGI was not very good. There was one big battle that was kind of fun to watch. But this movie overall was pretty boring. I watched it through Amazon Prime so I wasn't out any extra dollars but had I paid to see this I would be very let down.

Take the worst of the Marvel multi-verse movies and make a terrible ripoff of that, and you end up with this mess of a movie. Buffoonish humor and illogical story abound. The only reason I am rating it this high is because of the return of actors who portrayed beloved DC superheroes in the past.

I enjoyed this movie. Ridiculous unbelievable comic book plot, but has some of the better superhero action sequences I've seen in a while, and manages to get in some real laughs and some genuinely touching emotional moments. SO long, though. I don't know why DC never cuts down their movies. Anyway, I think it's underrated.

This is a passably good movie. Looking at it outside of the problematic lead actor, it is entertaining. The CGI is a bit questionable, at times, but only rarely distractingly so. The cast of characters and cameos are pretty good and keep things light. Makes me wish for a BatFleck movie that never was. Keaton was great in this and had plenty to do.

IN A NUTSHELL: Barry Allen uses his super speed to change the past but his attempt to save his family creates a world with unintended consequences that ripple into other worlds of the metaverse. The film was directed by Andy Muschietti. Writing credits go to Christina Hodson and Joby Harold. Yep, it’s another Metaverse movie. It appears that’s what DC Comics is doing all of the time now. It’s the 13th movie in the DC Universe with a soft reboot of the DC franchise, led by James Gunn. Any other films outside this new timeline are going to be called DC Elseworlds. Are you still thinking all of this Metaverse hype is fun or are you growing tired of it? Just curious. Comment down below! THINGS I LIKED: I attended a press screening with an audience that was ready for a good time. Within 1 minute, the audience was laughing. Nice! There was also destruction and tons of action within minutes. Ezra Miller did a fantastic job playing two characters: The Flash and Barry Allen. He gives us two-in-one characters to root for and shows us two levels of maturity with entertaining nuances. I LOVED Michael Keaton as one of the Batmen in previous movies, so I loved that they brought him back for this! I thought it was really clever how they addressed how there could be so many different Batmen in our world by utilizing the Metaverse. Conveniently, this movie ignores the story in the 1995 Batman Forever, as well as the 1997 Batman and Robin to have the 1992 Batman Returns movie make more sense to fit Michael Keaton’s storyline. Michael Keaton is now, officially, the oldest actor to play a live-action Batman. He’s currently 71 years old. Adam West was actually 88 when he voiced the 2017 animation of Batman vs. Two-Face! Ben Affleck hasn’t been my favorite Batman, but he did a good job in this. I loved the ending of the movie that left us all hanging as to who will be the next Batman in THIS universe! Ha ha Ben Affleck had some issues with the Justice League movie but revealed in a recent interview that he really enjoyed his role in this movie, as short as it was. The audience I watched the movie with absolutely loved the montage of Superman actors, especially Nicolas Cage who was ALMOST a superhero in a Superman movie many years ago in real life. Michael Shannon always does such a great job as a villain. His clear mask on his space uniform was pretty cool. Super amusing sound effects. While this movie isn’t exactly an origin story for The Flash, we get to learn a lot more about him, his past, and his motivations. Sasha Calle is the first Latina to play Supergirl. Congrats, Sasha! Others in the cast include Kiersey Clemons, Ron Livingston, Ian Loh, and Saoirse-Monica Jack. Everyone did a great job. The movie was shot entirely with IMAX cameras by Henry Braham. The only other DC movie to do that was the 2021 movie The Suicide Squad. Great special effects. I always love the Flash’s slow-motion sequences, so I was surprised when the guy I sat next to leaned over and said he thought they lasted too long. I still loved them. I loved the very last scene. What a great cliffhanger. The big bad spaceship looked just like a beetle. Some of the designs for weapons were cool too. THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE: Gotham City is always falling apart. Ha ha If you get vertigo as I do, be warned that there will be a few scenes that make you a little bit dizzy. There mostly at the beginning of the movie. I was worried it was going to be like that the entire time, but it wasn’t. Drats…I’m getting old! I wanted to hear the audience’s reactions throughout the film, but the movie was really loud and drowned out most of the noise from the audience. Surprisingly, there are some fake CGI moments. Some of the action sequences looked like they came straight out of a video game. Some viewers might complain about the unnecessarily long length of the movie. Everyone bleeds from the mouth with fake makeup. Ha ha TIPS FOR PARENTS: A few conversations about intimate relations. A surprisingly high number of crude words. Come on, Hollywood! Some profanity in English and Spanish, including 1 F-bomb Talk of the death of a parent We see people get hurt, sometimes with blood We see a naked guy but no private parts show We see a guy in his underwear Someone throws up…a lot. Gross. Lots of violence Lots of various weapons Lots of explosions and destruction High dead-body count

"The Flash" dives headfirst into the multi-verse concept, which is the ultimate destination of superhero universes, but it squanders a good idea by executing it poorly. The film's attempts to be funny significantly hinder its momentum.

This movie. It's somehow worse than Morbius, Suicide Squad, Son of the Mask, Spy Kids 3. If you loved those movies it's like that but worse. They picked a real life weirdo to play the flash after Hollywood cancelled all the relatable actors. Micheal Keaton Batman was the only redemption this movie.

There's a CW show called The Flash and an older '90s show called The Flash... there are also animated movies and series either focused on or featuring The Flash. Any of those options is better than watching this slop. Seriously, the CGI looks worse than the CW show! HOW!? But featuring a criminal scum, a child groomer as the titular character is just the cherry on top. Don't watch this movie. It's not worth the time nor money.

The Flash (2023) Review Once again, I'm blown away by this DC movie. What an insane fan service there is in it. I was awakened very strong emotions by a reunion with old friends. The music is almost epic, the story is well thought out. The picture format is contemporary and the 4K UHD shows zero brightness or color gradients thanks to the 12bit unlike the streaming version. While the frame rate would still be considered outdated at 24 frames, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and reversible covers still round it out to a superhero must-buy. Top done DV. Thanks for adding this great film to my physical collection -- German: Ich bin von diesem DC-Film mal wieder hin und weg. Top gemacht DV. Danke für diesen tollen Film in meiner physischen Sammlung.

The Flash This superhero flick sees the titular superhero going back in time to prevent his mother's death, leading to disastrous implications.Drawn from the comic book, Flashpoint, this movie boasts strong performances from its cast and good action scenes. Albeit the visual effects suffer and are sometimes abhorrent, and it's even more shameful with the budget the movie **** comedy in The Flash is hit or miss. When it's good, it's very good, and when it's bad, it's eye-rolling bad. The plot is standard, and the emotional core makes it **** Flash is a decent movie, especially when compared to the past failures of the DCEU, but it's a shame that the controversies surrounding the lead actor overshadow the movie (although deservingly) and generally take away from the feel-good nature the movie may elicit. 6.5/10.

I honestly don’t think this was that bad. Sure, the CGI looked straight out of a PS3 game but the emotional core really was pretty great, the characters were nice, etc. Overall though, the animated one is better for sure.

Good but far shy of great. I think my kid said it best. If the Flash is changing timelines and opening up the multiverse, then have Grant Gustin show up as the alternate Flash. Something simple like this would have been cheaper and played better than computer animated babies. Some of my issues are with the star, Ezra Miller. He does frenetic and tragic well, but this actor is a lot to take in. Knowing about the star’s interstate crime spree doesn’t help. Two Ezra Millers is just too much. Ezra and Grant would been a more watchable duo. My other issues are with the effects and the poor choices of how to use them. For recreating people, they left the uncanny valley and went back to 1995’s Pixar. For the big fight, they brought back Zod. Been there. Saw that. Wow me with something new. For the time travel scenes, they created some kind of colosseum of computer animated people and had Ezra run backwards. It’s at least better than seeing a bunch of clocks. The best of the movie is Micheal Keaton’s Batman. I wasn’t sold on him as Batman in 1989, but I am now. Make an Old Man Batman movie and I’ll pay $60 for the whole family to see it in the theater.

For whatever reason I found the movie much more enjoyable than the average critic or moviegoer. I was thoroughly entertained throughout. The CGI may have been spotty, but the main characters, the story and the dialogue were quite good. In the end it was just another superhero movie, but for me definitely one of the more entertaining ones.
