This movie gets better every time I watch it. It works well comedically in the same way that an 80s Ferris Bueller-style film does, with horror and sci-fi elements through a hyper-stylized lens. The gnostic themes of forbidden knowledge in a corrupt world is haunting, and the vibes of the scenes with Frank are insanely unique and freaky.

Unbelievably moving, and a message to the film industry that characters, acting, and communication don't have to be absolutely awful. Without a single line of dialogue, Flow creates more moving characters than many modern films, and shows a dedication to studying animal behavior and subtle movements and expressions.

I really wanted to love this movie. Robert Pattinson is great as usual, but all of the interesting concepts in the movie get pushed aside for surface-level satire. The ethics of cloning, the concept of the self and if it is more than a combination of its memories... these lose screentime to Maek Ruffalo's subpar Donald Trump impression. The top-rate CG effects were beautiful on an IMAX screen, but they were interesting between scenes of SNL style parody. Sad!

These movies really nail the characters and their chemistry, this one maybe a bit less than the first one. The complaints about Galactus being a big cloud are silly, a giant purple guy standing next to Earth wouldn't have looked good or made any sense in the context of these movies. Doom is ridiculous in this movie and could have been used better.

Deeply unsettling, and while I'm told that's the point, I still don't agree with a film about child exploitation being presented as a feminist masterpiece. There are heavy notes of arthouse pretentiousness and hollow pseudo-intellectualism that try to disguise pedophilic material as tasteful, and I don't buy it.

I can't exactly place how I feel about Megalopolis. It's all over the place, and I can't tell what it's going for. I kept trying to adapt my perspective to better suit the movie, which is not a labor that is usually asked by media. I tried viewing it as a play, as a dream, as a look at society from a completely alienated lens, but it tries to do too many things and never quite nails anything.

A remake of a knockoff of a beloved story, Nosferatu tries to honor the feel of classic movies while also creating horror for a modern audience. Sometimes this disconnect created unintentionally funny moments, as Count Orloc is unbelievably over the top. While stunning to watch, the film struggles to keep all of its elements aligned, as some of the acting falls apart, especially in attempts to match a particular style of speaking. Not as believable as Egger's VVITCH, the old-timey """German""" accents are unconsistent, as is Depp's depiction of possession-like madness.

This movie is so evil! The quality is so much higher than the previous two films, but the plot really marks them as required watching. The fact that the movie requires you see two low budget entries to understand most of this film is kind of a strange ask, as I would assume the big-budget entry would semi-reboot the franchise, but I guess I can respect that choice. The third act really falls apart and decreased the quality of the film overall, adding a lot of unnecessary complicated lore, but it was still the best of the series by far.

Went into this movie expecting little, as I had seen a lot of negative reception, but I feel like everything worked and made sense. The complaints I've seen feel like the same as the Last of Us 2 hate, where fans cannot handle a different angle on a story. Specifically, I think people hate consequences. Edit: I forgot this movie existed, so it obviously didn't do much for me in the long run, -2 The musical numbers made sense in the context and setup very creative setpieces that would otherwise not appear in the setting of the film... You wouldn't get it. Edit: it was kind of uninteresting in hindsight. :(
