Un 7 ? Peut être le film est cour et commence rapidement, mais c'est un film incroyable. Les 20 minutes je crois ont été tourné en une prise, les effets spéciaux sont impressionnants et peut être une histoire moyenne mais putain gravity !

Gravity is a visually stunning and intensely immersive experience that captures the terror and beauty of space like few films ever have. Directed by Alfonso Cuarón, it combines groundbreaking cinematography with relentless tension. Sandra Bullock delivers a gripping, emotional performance that anchors the film’s survival story. With minimalism, realism, and breathtaking visuals, it’s a thrilling, unforgettable journey. A perfect 10/10.

A fun thriller, as far as I remember. I distinctly remember one of those movies that was unique at the time due to the suspense constantly building for the entirety of the movie, like the film equivalent of a "Shepard tone", if that makes sense.

IMAX 3D I felt like I was in a roller coaster ride at an amusement park. It was awesome.

"Gravity" is a stunning space saga that takes off for new technical frontiers without leaving any of its humanity behind. Alfonso Cuarón’s action film is one of the greatest thrill rides of the 21st century, a real-time survival story about an abandoned astronaut (Sandra Bullock) who must find her way back to Earth while confronting the trauma she has long suppressed. With groundbreaking special effects that outshine most recent releases and a towering career best performance from Bullock, Cuarón crafts a suspenseful story that suggests the true terror of being lost in space isn’t the prospect of certain death — it’s being alone with your thoughts.

A good film with some ok acting. I liked the story, and the imagery is fantastic. Best on a good screen though, preferably the cinema. Definitely worth a watch!

The story is devoid of content and set in a science fiction background which is however done in a realistic way but it is the only noteworthy element present in the film. Rather boring during its entire development.

Gravity is a grippling space adventure, very realistically describing a survival in space of two astronauts whose Space Shuttle "Explorer" is hit by debris from an imploded Russian satellite.
Only one of the two survivors will make it back to Earth, in a tense adventure, far above Mother Earth..

A fascinating blend of opposing extremes, Gravity brings gripping, white-knuckle intensity from the word go, while also providing a surprisingly intimate character study. Many of its triumphs ride on the back of the excellent sound design, which flutters from loud, echoey destruction to the sudden stillness of panicked breathing amidst the silence of a total vacuum. Outstanding visual effects up the ante a few more notches, expertly visualizing the helpless chaos of a rapidly-compounding disaster in low orbit in ways that are both picturesque and graphically terrifying. That the rules and environments are all so unfamiliar only makes it that much easier for the viewing audience to forget that so much of what we're seeing is CG. The underlying moral is more than a little blunt, and a few fundamental rules might get bent along the way, but to zero in on those is to ignore the focus of the ride itself. A cinematic roller coaster in the truest sense of the word, it's one of the most physically suspenseful experiences I've ever sat through. Updated thoughts after a 2024 re-watch: A routine spacewalk turns chaotic for a trio of American astronauts, as a cloud of orbiting debris converts several satellites into a storm of jagged, bullet-speed projectiles. Mission control at NASA isn’t worried... until they are, and by then it’s way too late. With ground contact soon lost to the maelstrom, the surviving astronauts are tasked with devising their own hasty methods of escape, literally out in the cold without a lifeline. And the clock’s ticking: every ninety minutes, the expanding shrapnel cluster will loop back around for another attack. Writer / director / producer Alfonso Cuarón paces this dash of bombastic space madness like a Pixies song: loud, quiet, loud, repeat. The moments of mayhem are seat-edge riveting, a crunch of killer particles and massive, swinging set pieces that demand held breath and rapt attention. By contrast, the astronauts’ isolated moments of stark, quiet reprieve provide opportunities for potent humanity and lasting character definition. Often, the only audio derives from protagonist Sandra Bullock’s breathing patterns, a mix of hectic gulps and soothing self-control which tell us more of the character’s mental state than any amount of dialogue. Amidst all the insane CG action, we encounter themes of personal growth and resilience, along with practical evidence that the months of training we require of our space-faring specialists will pay off in times of crisis. Thus, Gravity is a touchy balancing act. Cuarón manages it well, providing unusual depth of thought to a special effects smorgasbord and/or incredible moments of adrenaline to an intimate, primarily single-voiced, character study. The running time races right by, but in the afterglow it doesn’t feel like we ate light. The only nit I’ll pick is with the amount of CG. The estimate is that 80% of this film is computer rendered, and I’d say about 90% of that is totally convincing. The remainder can feel a bit like a virtual reality ride: enveloping, sure, but just surreal enough to trigger a warning light in the back of our minds. An amazing effort that successfully boosts the pulse rate without clubbing the intellect, but in retrospect it was a strange choice for a Best Picture nomination.

This movie is absolutely bad. I hate this movie. The story is bad, music is okay, filmography is good and special effects are good, but nothing special.

Gravity is one of the best sci-fi movies of the 2000s.
It follows a tremendous accident in low orbit caused by a debris field of destroyed satellites that endangers the crew of a Space Shuttle mission.
The cast is really small but great: Sandra Bullock (one of her best performances) and George Clooney are the leads, while Ed Harris plays mission control (there are also minor actors). The film is very well paced, with truly terryfing moments, thanks to the beautiful cinematography by Emmanuel Lubezki and excellent direction by Alfonso Cuaron. The sountrack, created by Stephen Price, is simply outstanding.
It is a film you absolutley must see.

A perfect movie. This film makes you realize that space is vast, empty and deadly and that we should treasure and protect what we have here on Earth.

To be able to say that this movie is above 1/10 (and it's only worth 0 to be fair), you have to be able to gobble up nonsense like there is no end to the day. For example, the acceleration from spinning would have rendered anyone, including astronauts, unconscious and unable to control their arms. Take it for what it is: a space drama pretending to be somewhat realistic in some aspects. Garbage.

Gravity is a well-paced, beautifully written movie starring Sandra Bullock. It is simply everything you could ask a Sci-Fi movie for. The visuals are top-notch, adding to its emotional impact. I recommend this if you enjoy a good space movie.

Wow, it's been said a million times, but what a stunning film. Even watching it outside of theaters, nearly a decade after it's release, the visuals stand the test of time. Incredible. If there is anything to take away from my review is that this film is, simply, awe-inspiring. The heartfelt emotions conveyed in the story were captivating. The movie shifted from phase to phase effortlessly. This movie really harkens back to the Avatar movies in terms of a beautiful motion picture. The lessons about human resilience is a timeless tale. The weaving in of religion elevates the ethereal connection of the film. The uniqueness of it's design and style, particularly for it's time, I imagine was a defining piece of art. There are so many positive things that can be said about the film that I'll leave it with this-- this movie is a piece of art, an evocative piece that is emblematic of movies abilities to tell a story. While the visuals, the sound, the cinematography, the ambiance, the transitions are all sublime, they provide the base perfectly, which allows for the frankly simple story to blossom.

Gravity's spellbinding cinematography combined with its continuous shots make for a visually thrilling, emotionally suspenseful, and personally relatable experience. Its dialogue and visuals craft cryptic narratives to revolutionize the art of conveying insinuated and indirected themes.

This is not a sci-fi movie, this is an action movie set in space. Not a great one either, given the blatant disregard for simple physics. This is big studio efforts to bring romantic films into space. The first of a few.

I found this film to be an exercise in style by the director. Cuaron is a technically excellent director but this film ends up a bit in exhibitionism. The beautiful films set in space are others.

I've heard a few people rave about the movie Gravity, saying how wonderful it is. It is beautiful, but especially in the cinema. The film relies on breathtaking scenes in space, which I admit are beautiful even at home on a proper TV. Well, that's the whole film in the mix. Don't look for any deeper plot here. We find ourselves in space as soon as the film begins and we stay there. A wonderful spectacle, to which I don't have much to add. I recommend it.

Is worth watching just because of the AMAZING direction, cinematography and camera movement. Acting, music and plot are also remarkable. On the other hand, the screenplay and dialogues are absurd and weak by moments.

Personally, my most enjoyable Cinema Experience to date. I've only ever seen this film once. And I would only ever recommend watching on a big screen. But boy is it burned into my memory as the most tense, cinematic roller-coaster ride ever. Why queue for Space Mountain if this movie takes you straight there.

I remember deciding to watch this movie in cinemas because critics were all praising it as one of the best movies of that year. I watched it in IMAX 3D and remember being blown away by the movie. It won: Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, Best Film Editing, Best Original Score, Best Sound Editing, and Best Sound Mixing at the Oscars which is a lot of awards. I've decided to rewatch it on a whim but this time on my home TV. The question is if this movie is overrated or deserving of its accolades. Let's talk about the concept first, it's great. A survival movie in space, with no monsters or anything like that, is such a great concept that has not been done before or since its release. The movie perfectly illustrates the horror but also the beauty of space in a way that surprisingly meshes well together. On that note of the beauty, the cinematography is amazing. A lot of amazing cinematography is usually using real shots but Gravity does it all through CGI. It shouldn't work as CGI is quite obvious and bad CGI can even take you out of the movie but Gravity doesn't "fall" in that category. There are a lot of gorgeous shots that feel like paintings and this is partially thanks to the amazing visual effects. The set design for the space ships are claustrophobic and further emphasise the loneliness within this movie. The score is great and elevates the tension in the scenes where the score is prominent but during the more hopeful scenes, the score is more orchestral and beautiful. The movie doesn't rely on the score too much and sometimes just lets the silence of space or the breathing of the astronauts to **** the audience into the movie and it works. The movie is visually spectacular but what about the characters and story? The movie is revolved around Dr Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) who is our point of view character. For the most part, the movie makes us care about her because of the situation she is in and that is fine. However, the director (Alfonso Cuarón) decided to include a scene that elaborates on Ryan Stone's backstory on Earth. This is a good choice as it makes the audience more sympathetic with her and more understanding of why her personality is what it is or why she does certain actions or choices in the movie. Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) is a sort of anchor character that support Ryan throughout the movie. He has a contrasting personality to Ryan as he is funny and charismatic yet due to being more experienced is also one who guides Ryan. I like the dynamic between the two of them and when both of them are interacting it's funny or heartwarming. I also have to praise Sandra Bulluck as she does a great job in carrying this movie. Her performance whenever she is struggling in space feels genuine and I can feel the fear and panic just from the tone of her voice. She also delivers in the emotional moments that bring the scene to life. She was deserving of that best actress nomination at the Oscars. George Clooney does a pretty good job as well. Although, he mostly just plays Matt as the witty and charming guy. I do like it when the two are together, George overshadows Sandra which sounds weird but that is exactly what it should be in terms of who their characters are and what the plot is asking. I don't have many flaws with the movie that aren't just nitpicking but I do think the fact that Dr Ryan Stone seems to constantly panic in the first half of the movie kind of weird. Dr Ryan Stone just seems to not know the basics of being in space so know it all Matt Kowalsky constantly has to tell her stuff that I think she should've known. From a movie perspective, I get why this choice was made so that the audience can easily understand things about space but it could've handled way better in my opinion. Additionally, we get some backstory on Dr Ryan Stone but we don't get anything on Matt which I find a bit odd and lessens the impact of a certain scene. Unfortunately, I do think a lot of the impact this movie has is sadly lost because I am not watching it in a cinema. You could argue that with a lot of movies but for me watching this throughout certainly made me think "this would be way better in a cinema". In conclusion, I still really enjoyed the movie. Yes, the movie is impressive because of its style but in terms of substance, it certainly is lacking. However, the movie is just so visually spectacular that I don't mind it. Furthermore, a lot of great movies such as "Dunkirk" and "1917" do similar things to Gravity and they are both great movies as well. Gravity still is one of the best space movies to have come out in the last 20 years. I feel this movie accomplishes a lot with visual effects and space cinematography. A lot of people might not be talking about this movie anymore but for me, I certainly will still remember it.

So boring. Badly written characters. Impossible to care about either character, especially Sandra Bullock, who is the most incompetent astronaut of all-time. The 1 out of 10 is just for the visuals, which are impressive, but not enough to justify watching this snore-fest for 95 minutes.

"Gravity" is an over-hyped mess. Intended to be seen on the biggest screen possible, there is little gained from repeated viewings, yet much is lost. At the end of the day it's a run-of-the-mill survival film, albeit one with terrible physics (one of its self-proclaimed strong points via marketing).

No movie after this was able to make my jaw drop (literally) because of the realism of the effects, and the pacing is simply perfect, with a simple but uplifting ending that left me a good aftertaste, without that feeling of being served yet another McEnding. It's the usual space drama, but for once being in space matters (instead of it just being fancy scenery) and the drama works. Overall the story makes little sense but it didn't matter to me because the rest is so good, including Sandra Bullock's acting. Watched 3 times, would watch again.

Gravity raises our expectations with his trailer but gives us an extremely predictable and tedious script, a pity that two incredible actors like Clooney and Sandra are involved with such a boring film.

Literally the GREATEST movie in Cinema History! Thank you Alfonso Cuarón for this masterpiece of cinema! Gravity is such an aesthetically pleasing and well crafted movie! The cinematography really is out of this world! Sandra Bullock and George Clooney are both astonishing! Not even just because of the fact that you feel you’re in the same position as them, but also because you begin to connect more to them! I absolutely love Gravity! I’d recommend this movie to everyone who considers themselves lovers of what true cinema is! Gravity = GOAT

I have no words to describe this masterpiece.
I watched it 3 times and still in awe of what I saw, I have only one regret that I haven't watched it in 3D or in a huge Cinema. I don't think I need to praise its VFX work as it won the oscar for it. I'll give a fair warning for those who will watch it the first time, its really intense and I won't recommend on drinking an energy drink while watching it.

Some stunning shots and sound but sadly that's pretty much it. It's lightyears away from other movies which take place in space such as Apollo 13, First Man, The Martian or crazier ones like 2001 Space Odyssey, Interstellar, Sunshine, Event Horizon, Armageddon, heck even Space cowboys, whatever you name it, anything is likely better. I guess people were happy to see Sandra Bullock on the big screen along with George Clooney. They both played their role well but their characters are typical clichés. If you like shallow stories that try to be deep with implausible events happening one after another I guess you'll like it. For the rest don't waste your time.
I’d give it a 5 for the shots and technical breakthroughs but I’m baffled from the high scores this movie received and trying like many others to give this movie the score it deserves, 6 at most.

Gravity (2013): A breathtaking film with some of the best sound design and one of the most suspenseful scores in cinema, not to mention to jaw-dropping visual effects and incredibly realistic physics. (Although one scene in particular comes across as distractingly dumb and preventable, as well as not making sense.) The cinematography is also a standout, with many scenes last minutes without a single cut, and the directing is phenomenal. This is one of the best movies of the twenty-first century, and it is a definite must-see.
