Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders is the kind of game where the skier’s skill mirrors your own with the controller, exceedingly challenging yet deeply rewarding once mastered.Although the experience was great, there are some structural defects that can make success a little frustrating at times.

If you want to know what unites all players, though, it's the sheer glory of the wide-open world that is brought into being here. [Issue#408, p.114]

Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders is about chilling out, chasing personal bests, and enjoying the bone-crunching hits that ensue. Ironically, that means this game is at its best when it isn't so lonely. Grab some friends and hit the slopes, but maybe wait for a few patches first.

Take a relaxing skiing game and give it mediocre controls, average graphics, blur what's in front of you and you get Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders. I really can't recommend this game for anyone. It's mostly difficult because of the camera angles and blurred forward vision. If you like playing games with a handicap for no reason, this is it. Then you add the fact that you can't move forward in the game unless you complete the difficult challenges and you find you can't even play the whole game.

The game's multiplayer servers are trash. Even though I have 200mbps internet, wired ethernet the game kicks me from lobbies. Until they fix that, would not play at all again. Hope they fix it soon. Also my skiier randomly skiied backwards. Absolute garbage

It's better than the mountain bike game of this series and the snow looks genuinely amazing here, unfortunately it's still the only (now second) game for me that feels extremely uncomfortable to play due to camera angle / motion sickness.

Dexterity, nerves, observational skills - Snow Riders loves to see all of this from you, both solo and in multiplayer. But this game is also fine with you wanting some peace and quiet or a little vacation feeling in the mountains. To me, this vibe is a revelation.

Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders is a special indie experience. This wonderfully challenging game will push you to your limits. However, its beauty and smooth gameplay will make you come back for more. Though I didn't play the online action, I am looking forward to carving the off-piste with my friends.

A Gorgeous, Thrilling Ski Adventure – 10/10
Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders is an absolute joy! The snow is stunningly beautiful, the controls are precise and intuitive, and the camera adds a cinematic vibe that I personally love. The game truly captures the feeling of skiing, every run feels like an adventure, and the devs absolutely nailed the sense of speed and flow.
Sure, the multiplayer isn't perfect yet, and has some connectivity issues, but the core experience is so good that I'm confident the devs will patch them soon.

As a longtime ssx3 addict. This is it. This is a fantastic game. Beautiful open mountains that are a joy to explore or to carve hard down when you finally know the best lines! No 10/10 because you can only ski and can’t snowboard!

The developers at Megagon Industries have done a great job on building on their first game by adding a bunch of excellent new ideas, a fun multiplayer suite and what feels like a great, fresh take on skiing with the tight, responsive controls they’re known for. It’s addictive, thrilling stuff and I can’t wait to hit the slopes as soon as I’ve finished writing this. It’s available on Xbox Game Pass and Steam, and I hope you try it out.

After a couple of frustrating hours trying to play with other people, it was a relief to return to the solitude of solo mode: just you and the mountain. Here, the only competition is yourself, and the only company is nature. A sense of calm descends. Everything is how it should be. Until you fall foul of a rock, again.

This game is awesome, simple mechanics for you to master and enjoy as you go down the mountain. Trying to beat the challenges in both green and black routes is just amazing and really satisfying

This felt more like a rage game for the sake of being a rage game than actually making it hard and enjoyable. If they at least had the camera perspective being one direction we would've likely loved the game, but especially the point version of multiplayer, its just so poorly designed and you are also spent waiting forever for other people and trying to micromanage every little thing to perfection. The scenery was pretty beautiful especially considering how low graphics it is, but the game just has a poor design in my opinion and couldve really used a bit more thought when making the game. It really just feels like they wanted a ski game and after they had the movement and maps they just added random **** to make it more **** / make people spend longer on it for playtime

SummaryCrash over and over until you master the mountain in the snowy followup to Lonely Mountains: Downhill. Now also including 2-8 person crossplatform multiplayer - work your way down as a group the slopes sharing a small number of checkpoints, or risk it all in a breakneck race to the base!
