Stoked: Big Air Edition
50
The original Stoked wasn't a bad game at all but Namco disappoints us because of the lack of improvements in Stoked: Big Air Edition.
For an updated version of a game that came out in 2009, Big Air Edition just doesn't do enough to justify a purchase for those who bought the original Stoked. However, to those who are thinking about buying this game, I would wait as even at the average price of £25 it still feels overpriced for what you get. This title to me is a rent only or a below £15 purchase at most.
If you like snowboarding games, you'll enjoy this one too, but if you're new to this genre you might want to look somewhere else to enter this area.

This is a snowboarding games that takes realism to the next level. Add in the realistic aspects of Amped and Amped 2 for the Xbox, then sprinkle on complex but intuitive controls from the Skate series, which comes together to form a snowboarding experience for fans of the sport. Shaun White's game disappointed. The latest SSX didn't live up to the hype. However, Stoked is everything a boarder could want and more. This is one heck ****. Stoked: Big Air Edition is a more refined and polished version of Stoked, which means smoother controls, smoother jibbing, better graphics, 2 new mountains added to the one's that were already there, and more.

This is the kind of game I've wanted for a long time, and it sat right under my nose for years. My mistake; I shouldn't trust mainstream coverage of games like this that appeal to a smallish niche of crazy people who'd rather put a lot of effort into perfecting simple tricks than doing absurd tricks and wearing wingsuits or whatever. And that group includes me, so I appreciate this game a lot and am highly impressed by what I was fearing could never live up to its promises. The soundtrack and presentation are both great, too. Really, this game surprised me at every turn and I suspect I'll be playing for a long time to come.

One of my all time favorite snowboarding games and it is the most realistic one i have ever played. After being an ssx fan for a long time i was not sure if snowboarding games really had a future but this game was a very pleasant surprise. IF YOU LIKE SKATE then definitely get this game, its the Skate of Snowboarding games with good graphics and game play.

A good game made better. Improved graphics, the addition of racing, and some control scheme enhancements have made the game better.

There's only one way to truly see what the folks at Destineer have accomplished. Helicopter your way to Japan's highest peak, wait until it's dark and begin your descend. Never mind the events; just feel the mountain. That's Stoked!

Our favorite addition is the inclusion of tooltips telling us how to perform the required tricks. When doing a challenge off one of the brand-new park objects, we now know exactly how to do a Crail or a Truckdriver without having to dive into the glossary of grabs!

Stoked: Big Air Edition is not for everybody. It doesn't fill in the void left by the fabulous, over-the-top style of the SSX series. For players looking for the realistic equivalent of Skate to the snowboarding sport, Stoked is where it at its strongest.

Two new locations and some minor tweaks doesn't add much to the core experience.

Better by degrees. Tiny, incremental degrees, barely worth noting. Give it a wide berth. [May 2011, p.99]

SummaryStoked, which has the highest Metacritic score of any advanced-generation snowboarding game, is now faster, bigger, easier to control, and even more gorgeous in Stoked: Big Air Edition. New features include racing, marked trails that make it easy to find great runs, lots of park objects to use for tricks, two new mountains, better visual... Read More
