Super Smash Bros.8

It’s weird going back to this game since there’s been so much more content added since then. This was still a pretty solid game and honestly, can’t wait to play Melee next.

This was a very solid and charming 3D platformers a lot of fantastic references to other big Playstation franchises. I think this was a great expansion of what they did with Astro’s Playroom.

Final Fantasy VII9
May 7, 2026
This is my first Final Fantasy game and man, what an incredible experience all the way through. Everything from its characters, music, story, I don’t really have many complaints. The only thing is that it does feel a bit dated in some parts, but otherwise, absolutely worth the hype.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End8
May 7, 2026
This is my second favorite Uncharted game and a fantastic conclusion to Nathan Drake’s story. It also has the best gameplay with its combat and shooting. Definitely would recommend playing this.

This is a fantastic way to play the first three Uncharted games and how I personally played them. RIP to Bluepoint Games!

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception8
Apr 30, 2026
While I did enjoy this game, I think the second game was better and I think I even enjoy the first game over this one. I just felt like the plot wasn’t as good as the previous two though I did like when we finally got to the desert. Otherwise, this is my least favorite in the series so far and hopefully Uncharted 4 will be better.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves8
Apr 12, 2026
People say this is the best game in the series and man, I definitely see why. This is superior to the first game in every way. I just love the story and how much more cinematic it is. I honestly might want to replay this game again, but that’s if I like this one more than the 4th game, which is also considered to be one of the best. Highly recommend this game.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune8
Apr 1, 2026
Played this through the Nathan Drake Collection and I think this is a great start to the series. I enjoyed the story and gameplay and I really liked the characters too, I know the second game is considered much better than this one, so let’s see if that’s the case.

Metroid: Samus Returns8
Mar 14, 2026
I’ve had this game for a few years just like Dread, but never finished and while that game is better, MercurySteam still did a great job with this game and is just a great remake of Metroid II. It doesn’t have as good of an atmosphere though as the original, but obviously looks more detailed and is obviously just an overall better game. I do think Zero Mission is easily the superior remake of the two.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night8
Mar 14, 2026
I played this through the Requiem version on PS4, and man, it’s fantastic. I can see why it’s considered to be one of the greatest games of all time and how it and Super Metroid established the Metroidvania genre. This game uses more RPG type elements with its xp and level up system to make Alucard stronger. Also, I know the Requiem version uses the Dracula X version, which came out on PSP, so the voice acting did change and I absolutely loved it and was surprised that Yuri Lowenthal voiced Alucard and he did a great job. I would absolutely recommend this game if anybody has not already played it.

Metroid Dread8
Mar 12, 2026
I’ve had this game since the year it came out and while I played it, I never finished it since I got lost. However, this year, I’ve decided to play more of the Metroid games and decided to finally go back and finish this game and it’s fantastic. The gameplay is really the best it has ever been since the controls are just so smooth and it’s just really satisfying to use Samus’ abilities. I also like the story too and the fact that we get to see Samus embrace the Metroid side of her especially at the end. Definitely a great game and worth playing if you haven’t already.

I played the SNES version of this game and wow, what an incredible game. Pretty much everything from the story, visuals, story, and even the gameplay is all just amazing. I see why so many people consider this to be one of the greatest games of all time and I really wish it would get re-released on modern platforms. Highly recommend this game.

Marvel's Spider-Man8
Feb 6, 2026
Absolutely loved this game and ended up enjoying it more than Spider Man 2. The biggest one being that I think the story was fantastic and better paced in comparison to the sequel and just had a better variety of characters and villains. The only thing is that I do prefer the gameplay and side content of the second game, but just blasting through the game, it’s a ton of fun and absolutely recommend it.

Sonic CD8
Jan 16, 2026
This version is definitely the best way to experience this game and you can play it through Sonic Origins. While I love the JP version of the soundtrack (and even some of the US tracks too), the level design can get pretty annoying and even confusing at point especially with Wacky Workbench where you just bounce all over the place. And getting 100% can be annoying when you’re going for the Time Generators or you could also get the Time Stones to get the good ending. I do enjoy this game, but I much rather play Sonic 2 and 3&K.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong8
Jan 16, 2026
Great remake and my first time beating this game since I never beat the original. The only thing is that I do feel like when I got further, it just started to feel a bit repetitive for me. Honestly, it would be really cool if Donkey Kong ‘94 got a remake like this one since it’s like the prequel to this game.

Paper Mario8
Jan 16, 2026
A great introduction to the Paper Mario series with great worlds to explore and great gameplay with the battle mechanics. The sequel, Thousand-Year Door would go on to improve what this game and add more personality with its partners, but this is still a great game worth playing.

Shadow of the Colossus8
Jan 15, 2026
This was such a fantastic experience. I loved exploring the world with Agro and it was fun defeating all the Colossi. The music is also just really iconic too. The only thing is that I wish there was fast travel because it was really annoying having to always get to each Colossus the long way. Other than that, I would recommend this game.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds8
Jan 11, 2026
This was a great racing game with great tracks, and a lot of great characters and some that we haven’t seen in so long. I also love the fact that they added other Sega characters in there too. I also really like the tracks in this game. The only thing is that I do feel like the modes in this game just feel like you’re just doing more races. I just wish there was a battle mode to have more variety, but otherwise, really solid game.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom9
Dec 24, 2025
Breath of the Wild was already an incredible game with so much to do and explore, but I think Tears of the Kingdom improves on it. While people complain that they feel this game just kinda ignores what happened in BOTW, that didn’t really affect my enjoyment of the game since I think the gameplay is better since you can build to make navigation much faster and you’re also introduced to the Sky Islands, (which I will admit are a little underwhelming since most of them are really tiny) and the Depths which I thought was fun to explore and opened for more exploration and I enjoyed getting all the lightroots to get more of the map. The story is this game is I think great and I especially love what they did with Zelda especially when she sacrificed herself to become the Light Dragoon and restore the Master Sword for Link. Now, I will say that the Master Sword is a downgrade in this game because you can’t upgrade the damage and durability like you could in BOTW and the story makes it seem like the Master Sword will be more powerful than ever when it pretty much has the exact same base damage of 30 and runs out of energy kinda quickly. It’s even worse when you have to either fuse things to make the sword do more damage or there’s straight up just better weapons than it. It’s just really disappointing that they nerfed the Master Sword in this game. Anyway, I wanted to talk about the dungeons in this game which I think are much better than the Divine Beasts from BOTW since they actually feel different from each other in terms of design and puzzle solving. The bosses are also more interesting this time around with my favorite being Colgera from the Wind Temple. Final thing I wanna talk is Ganondorf since they absolutely did a fantastic job with him. He just looks so badass and the final fight is so much better than Calamity Ganon from BOTW. I especially love the last phase where he turns into a literal dragon and you ride on top of the Light Dragon to hit his weak spots and it’s just so epic. Oh, I forgot to mention this, but while BOTW had the Champions, this game has Sages and while they’re cool to have, I just don’t like how you have to use most of them by walking up to them and it could get annoying especially when you have multiple out. And there’s also the fact that some of them like Sidon and Mineru I just found to be kinda useless and Riju’s power is pretty much the Shock Arrows from BOTW. My favorite to use was easily Tulin especially when used in the sky since you can get more distance with him which is funny that the wind sage is the most useful just like Revali’s Gale from BOTW. Anyway, I’m gonna wrap this up by saying that TOTK is an improvement over BOTW and I would highly recommend playing this game.

Super Mario All-Stars8
Dec 23, 2025
While the Wii version is lazy since it basically just puts the SNES version on a Wii disc and isn’t even the version that has Mario World, it’s still a fantastic collection with great remakes of SMB1, Lost Levels, SMB2, and SMB3. If you want to play this game, I would recommend the version that has Mario World which you would probably have to emulate, but if you don’t mind playing the original version, play it on NSO.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD9
Dec 22, 2025
I’ve played this game a few times before, but never really made much progress, but this time I decided to actually play the whole game and man, what an incredible experience. The HD version makes some improvements from the visuals to adding the Swift Sail to make traveling through the Great Sea faster. If you haven’t played Wind Waker and you own a Wii U, get this version you won’t regret it.

Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition8
Dec 15, 2025
I played this game back on the Wii U and playing it again on Switch, it’s still a fantastic 2D platformer. This was my first Rayman game and what an introduction. It also includes pretty much all the levels from Origins. If you haven’t played it, I would recommend.
Nintendo Switch

Sonic Mania Plus9
Dec 15, 2025
This is not only the best Sonic game, but also one of my favorite games period. Everything from the visuals, music, special stages, level design, it’s all near perfection. The only thing is the fact that there aren’t enough new zones since there’s only 4 in the entire game, but otherwise, this is an incredible game.

Kirby: Squeak Squad7
Dec 2, 2025
This is a fun Kirby game and it has some unique things like the Squeaks and a cool final boss with Dark Nebula (even if the fight is really easy), but I just don’t feel like it really does much to stand out from other Kirby games. It’s still really good, but I think Super Star Ultra is the better DS Kirby game by a landslide.

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest9
Dec 1, 2025
Since the SNES version is not on this website, I have to use the Game Boy version as a placeholder. This is hands down one of my favorite games of all time and just one of the best 2D platformers period. Everything from its visuals, level design, to the amazing soundtrack. It’s just all so damn fun and great. Play this game if you haven’t because it’s amazing.

Yoshi's Woolly World8
Dec 1, 2025
I absolutely love this game with its fantastic artstyle and level design and its funny that this game was made by the same developers that made Kirby’s Epic Yarn since both that game and this one use the yarn aesthetic in such creative ways. I really hope Nintendo ports this game to Switch 2 since the only ways to play this game are either the Wii U or 3DS.

Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash2
Dec 1, 2025
This is pretty much an E3 demo that was $50 when this game came out. The modes are pretty much the exact same thing with the only change being that you either get Mega Mushrooms or you have to rally a big tennis ball back and forth. Plus, the stadium also have no unique gimmicks or themes since it’s pretty much the same court but with the textures changed. It’s one of the most lazy Mario sports games Nintendo has ever put out and I would not recommend this game at all.
Wii U

New Super Mario Bros.8
Dec 1, 2025
Around the time this game came out, this was the first 2D Mario since Mario Land 2 and man, it was a breath of fresh air. It had some great visuals, level design, unique bosses, great music, and a lot of content with its minigames and the Mario vs. Luigi mode. This is the best NSMB game in the series and I don’t think that opinion will ever change for me.

Kirby & the Amazing Mirror8
Nov 12, 2025
The first Kirby game to be more of a Metroidvania since you’re exploring big worlds and there are a ton of collectibles to find and I think it’s executed very well. The only things is that the game can be extremely confusing even with the maps that they provide for you. I also don’t like that you lose your ability after one hit. But otherwise, very solid Kirby game.
Game Boy Advance

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions8
Nov 12, 2025
This is the version I played of the game and I think it’s a great remake and a great game in general. I enjoyed its story and villains such as Fawful and Cackletta. I also really like this remake’s visuals too. If you wanna play this game, the remake’s not a bad option.

Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land8
Nov 12, 2025
Fantastic remake of the NES game with better graphics, physics, and new content like Meta Knightmare and Boss Endurance. While the original is a a very charming game, I would honestly recommend playing this version more since I think it’s better.
Game Boy Advance

Kirby's Adventure8
Nov 11, 2025
I didn’t play this on 3DS, but since there’s no NES games, I just have to use this version. This game is a classic with some great music and charming aesthetics. My biggest problems are the controls since they can feel a bit clunky and how laggy the game can get. I know the 3DS version fixed the lag which is nice, but either way, I would honestly rather play Nightmare in Dream Land since that one looks nicer and just has better physics too.

Kirby: Planet Robobot9
Oct 26, 2025
This is probably my favorite Kirby game. Everything about it is just amazing from the level design, to the Robobot suit that adds some great gameplay and abilities to the mix and that final boss with Star Dream is just so epic in how you literally become the Halberd. I also love Meta Nightmare Returns and how you get to fight Galacta Knight with the fantastic boss theme to go along with it. Please play this one if you’ve never tried a Kirby game.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe8
Oct 26, 2025
I’ve never played the original version, so this was first time playing this game and I do love the base game and just like the fact that this remake just looks more vibrant and colorful. Though, the best part is all the new content they added with Merry Magoland with remastered versions of past sub-games and some missions to tackle. Then, you got Magalor’s Epilogue takes place after beating the game. If you’re gonna play this game, play this version.
Nintendo Switch

Kirby Super Star Ultra9
Oct 24, 2025
This might be one of the best remakes we’ve ever gotten and also one of the best Kirby games in general as well. There’s so much they added to this remake that it automatically makes this the superior version. I also really love the cutscenes they added to every mode even the arenas. Please play this if you haven’t because it’s just amazing.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land9
Oct 22, 2025
Kirby has his first 3D game and this is hands down one of the best Kirby games we’ve and could have the possibility of being my favorite Kirby game. The visuals, level design, story, basically everything here is amazing. I also love how you can upgrade your copy abilities and the new mouthful mode. I also really like Forgo Dreams since it gives a nice closure to the story since you have to collect Leon’s souls. Please play this game if you haven’t because it’s so damn good.
Nintendo Switch

Sonic Advance 38
Oct 22, 2025
This is the best game in the series. I just love the level design, music, the special stages, and I think the hub worlds are neat. New to this game is the tag team mechanic which is a great way to change up the gameplay. If there was a Sonic Advance game I’d go back to, it would be this one.
Game Boy Advance

The Last of Us Part I8
Oct 18, 2025
So glad I finally got to the play this game because this was fantastic from beginning to end. I also love the changes this remake did to the lighting and characters since they show more emotion in comparison to the original. If you’re gonna play this game, play the PS5 version.
PlayStation 5

Sonic Advance 28
Oct 18, 2025
An improvement over the first with its better level design, music, and love the inclusion of Cream the Rabbit (who is the best character in this game). The only thing is that I found this game to be more frustrating especially when you get to the later levels since there’s so many bottomless pits and the bosses can also be a pain to deal with. And the Chaos Emeralds are probably the worst to get in this game. Otherwise, great sequel.

Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 39
Sep 23, 2025
This is the GBA version, but I’ll be reviewing this like it’s the NES version. This is one of the best 2D platformers of all time with its fantastic controls, level design, and variety of power ups. I also really love the music too. The GBA version does add the e-Reader levels which are all really fun to play. Highly recommend if you for some reason have never played Mario Bros. 3
