Like The Orange Box before it, Portal: Companion Collection is one of the greatest compilations assembled. It is the complete Portal experience, with all the fixings and extras one would hope for and then some. Both titles are excellent, and still hold up better than one would think. They always felt like they belonged on a Nintendo console. They embody its spirit of innovation and creativity, while being wrapped in comfy sardonic blanket, which feels right at home on Switch, be it on the big screen or on-the-go.

Portal and Portal 2 are like a magic trick you’ll never figure out or a joke that doesn’t get old. The duology is just as fun and fresh now as they were when they were first released, perhaps even better. They run flawlessly on Switch and control impeccably with the addition of gyro aiming, so the Portal Companion Collection is well worth it whether this is your first time or your thirtieth.

Portal Review: A short puzzle adventure with a surprisingly funny story attached. No filler, all fun. GlaDOS is the highlight. Portal 2 Review: I loved the game, but by the 3rd act I was bored and over it. The puzzles became unsolvable and I was just using a walkthrough to see the story through to the end

Took this one on discount from Nintendo eshop and realised soon afterwards that i completely robbed them. This game is a masterpiece. It is clever, it is pure comedy, it is dark. I wouldn't change a thing. The second one is even larger and better than the first one, it makes you want to go even deeper on what's happening in this place. And about GLaDOS.... A cold, sarcastic AI with a dark sense of humor who tests you… and enjoys it a little too much. It works perfectly in Switch, like it belongs there from the beginning. And personally for me, it opened the brilliant world of indie games and how truly wonderful they can be.

Portal Companion Collection is exactly what you want from a Switch version of anything. Two great timeless games that are almost flawlessly in a complete package with online, local multiplayer and even split screen. If you played this back in the day, it's time to play it again. If you've never played these games, then the Switch port is among the best ways to experience them. I'm making a note here; "Huge success".

Both of these games are nothing short of masterpieces, and they look and play excellently here. The Companion Collection isn't just a pair of great games – it's an example of just how great games can be! [Issue #61 – September/October 2022, p. 20]

The Portal Companion Collection simply offers two of the best games from the last twenty years at an affordable price on Switch. While they have been offered on multiple platforms, it’s great to finally have both Portal games on a Nintendo console. The ports run flawlessly on Switch and make for an excellent overall experience. If you’ve played them countless times before or are jumping through a portal for the very first time, Portal 1 and 2 make a fantastic addition to the Nintendo Switch line-up.

It's hard to overstate our satisfaction with Portal: Companion Collection. Portal and Portal 2 felt incredibly fresh when they first released, and the years since have not diminished their immense impact. To now have two of the most unique and mind-bending puzzle games on a Nintendo console, and on-the-go if you choose, is a pure joy. If it weren't for the frequent load screens punctuating the experience, we'd have absolutely nothing to complain about here. The motion controls work like a dream, the games run at a near-rock-solid 60fps, and the writing remains as funny now as it did all those years ago. If you haven't played the Portal games before, this should be a no-brainer. If you have... well, just play them again.

I don’t think I can express how much **** first play through these two games are, Especially portal 2. These are some of the best games I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing and certainly have very good replay ability to my view ( also saying that I completed both these games with severe stick drift on my left & right joycon so I’m replaying to fully enjoy them with out the hassle of stick drift). I can’t explain how much of a bargain this collection is when it goes on sale on the eshop too as I got 2 of my new all time favourite games for 3.50 only. BUY THIS GAME!

I had a great experience with this game from start to finish. I can see why it has been popular for so long and didn't realize there are user-created levels on PC. The possibilities are endless on what fun puzzles can be made with this concept.
SummaryIncluding Portal and Portal 2, the Companion Collection comes to Nintendo Switch with all the groundbreaking gameplay, dark humor, and exploration that earned the series hundreds of awards. In Portal, you'll use a highly experimental portal device to solve physical puzzles and challenges. Maneuver objects--and yourself--through space ... Read More
