There is no higher point in Mario platforming than this, and given the height of galactic situations, only something far off the spectrum like Super Mario Micro or Super Mario Universe ad nauseam could possibly topple it in terms of scale and evolution in game design.

Super Mario Galaxy is a fun time, with good gameplay and some interesting environments, though its individual galaxies leave a lot to be desired when it comes to exploration. The gameplay is fairly linear, though becomes more fun as the game goes on. I just wish there was more to explore like in previous 3D Mario titles.

PERSONAL POV
Summary: I don't like this game. I would have been poised to plat the sequel, but now I won't.
Gameplay: Just so so. It's actually creative and surprising, but not impressive and immersive at all
Story: ****. The childish beginning and an end with full visual effects as an awkward happy end. Narrative is no narrative.
Graphics: It's ok. Especially the starry sky scene, it's great. But I don't attach importance to this aspect.
Music: Not bad, but I don't like this style
