Astro Bot can proudly stand beside the PlayStation icons it so fondly celebrates.

This rather short, but very eventful journey will send Astro up in the air, out to the deep waters, or even inside gargantuan monsters. [Issue#265, p.70]

A perfect, charming platformer that will delight players throughout the entire journey. This is an easy recommendation and a must-play!

This game is great. The level designs, awesome. The challenge levels, difficult. And the end boss battle, epic. If you are getting a PS5, this is a must-play.

Arguably the best game to experience the utmost powers of the PS5. The Dualsense controller used in such a phenomenal way , making every movement and interaction feel alive in your hands . Even the references about previous playstation ip's make it more fun for longtime fans.

The more I play Astro Bot, the more I think to myself how much I’ve missed playing classic 3D platformers, and how much I crave to jump right back into all the better, more mechanically complex games that inspired this title in the first place. In all seriousness, everything “creative” here has straight up taken every possible page from Mario Sunshine’s, Mario Galaxy’s, and Mario Odyssey’s books. Nothing about it is technically original in the grand scheme of things, and it’s almost as if the developers are only just now catching up to the magic of 2000s and early 2010s first party Nintendo games, and are still somehow unable to match those games in visuals and aesthetics. Another thing that’s unintentionally depressing about it is how every time I rescue a bot, I get reminded of the graveyard that is now sadly known as PlayStation. It’s like the game is secretly telling me: "Hey, remember all these wonderful IPs that were once upon a time under Sony’s belt for over two decades? Remember how much more enjoyable, remarkable, and lovable those older games used to be? Well, it’s all gone now, and we’ll never make games like those ever again, but by all means, feel free to reminisce about them all you want." To cut it short: I’m grateful this game was made, and I hope to see more like it. It’s just such a shame that so much of its mascot’s identity however is either tied to glorifying and advertising Sony products or reminding the player of how much more fun gaming used to be in the past.

Astro Bot is still the wonderful tribute to PlayStation history and hardware design that Astro’s Playroom was, but it has been given room to grow beyond a characterful tech demo and into the best platform game I have played in many years. Actually, it’s one of the best platformers I’ve ever played, – and, as a child of the 90s, I truly have played a tonne of them. PlayStation has been lacking a great homegrown family-friendly game since LittleBigPlanet, and Astro Bot is a worthy inheritor of that series’ playfully humorous legacy.

In a world of by-the-numbers sequels and soulless cash grabs, Astro Bot stands as an oasis, an absolute masterpiece packed to the brim with charm, creativity, and a genuine love for video games, old and new. There are still four months left in the year, but if I'm being honest, I think I've already found my pick for game of the year.

With copious amounts of variety, a delightful presentation, rewarding collectibles, an absurd amount of references, and cuteness to spare, ASTRO BOT is one of the best 3D platformers ever created. It's essentially a tribute to gaming as a whole.

After years, Astro Bot made it to the star of the platforming genre in PlayStation universe bringing full-fledge game with tens of rich levels, funny power-ups, secret passaged and different planets. It is one of a few games you’ll enjoy without stress, pressure and will admire the creativity of Team Asobi.

Every second spent on the game testifies to the enormous skill of the developers and the love they have for the PlayStation universe. A highly enjoyable adventure from start to finish.

Astro Bot is what we needed after playing Astro's Playroom for a long time; the student surpasses the teacher, but it is difficult to tell the difference between both games. This is a space adventure full of surprises, challenges and immersion that is only possible with the DualSense controller. This game is essentially a thank-you letter to PlayStation fans.

Anyone can play this game and enjoy it greatly. Uses Sony's Dualsense's haptics to its full potential. Must play if you own a PS5

A very good 3D platformer that uses the Dualsense to it's full potential. Good but nothing extraordinary.

Fun, but gets repetitive and boring over time, and you should get it only if it's on sale.

Mid platformer with a stupid clanker. Sony payola made sure this garbage won several GOTY awards. Also a nice graveyard for dead and abandonded Playstation IPs.

It would be a quite good game if not for the unfair mechanics and control, specially at square, X, O, and triangle levels. As for the rest, it's a simple game, very easy to finish, not as easy to fully complete. And, by the way, it's definitely not a GOTY. Not by chance.
