An average game that only lives courtesy **** story in Mike Pondsmith's brilliant world, Keanu and an anime. CDPR should not be allowed to recover if the next game they put out is anything like this mess. Even after a couple hundred gb of patches it is still WAY below the standard people deserve in a game. On gameplay alone it is nothing special. It feels like an indie Deus Ex and sadly it was made with millions that Deus Ex deserved and deserves FAR more.

5-7 hour main campaign that relies on 'Memberberries and past glory. No looming dread - only jumpscares. Leon remains the Big Boss ripoff he's been since RE4. Despite 4's brilliance it misses the point of a RE game and unfortunately so does 9. Trying to cater to a mixed audience of OG / RE4 fans ends up giving us the same mixed bag experience. The story is also dumb retcons and shock value subversion. Make Resident Evil Resident Evil Again. And not HBO horrorshlock.

Brilliant soulful metroidvania with a great soundtrack but loses a couple of points for wasting your time so much. No I will not do 5mins of obstacle courses just to face a Boss again and die because I didn't enter with a full health bar. It's bad game design. Such a brilliant game should not have to resort to timewasting. Brutal difficulty? Fine. Thankless repetition? Nope. It sullies a truly special game.

In Gaming you should never have to hold the joystick in one position for so long that your hand cramps up. Ever. DS2 fails in this regard. It feels like a rushed middle entry of a trilogy. The Kojima-isms are on full display with the uninspired naming of characters, impromptu dance numbers, zany-for-the-sake-of-it moments and a twist EVERYBODY saw coming. Yet again Hideo's creative ideas extend only to the movie aspect of the game and not the gameplay itself (which is why he became famous to begin with. He needs to remember why he revolutionised the world of gaming in the first place or at least have the guts to drop projects he clearly doesn't want to make. Or go make a movie to get it out of his system once and for all.

Another outsourced rehash in the vein of Demon's Souls. Pretty graphics until you decide to move. There is no reason it should be this juddery. not at launch + day1 patch and with the infamous horse armour also as day 1 DLC. And they added the Type 1/2 nonsense and still defaulted to Male. B R A V O. I'd have settled for 60fps. But sadly it is every bit as grotesque as DS Remake (clearly passed off to an inferior team). Oblivion deserved better and I hope the Skyblivion Mod Team do it better justice than this. Gamers need to stop supporting cash-in remakes, especially when they're foisted on us FOMO-style with a 'leaked' release.

I used to love booting up AC. It was a fun journey into a (fairly accurate) historical period never before experienced. In Current Year(TM) all of that is gone. This is history perverted to meet the needs of affection-starved fetishists and serves only as an insult to the culture it pretends to honour. The people writing this game need to lose their jobs for putting their own sick fantasies in a game meant to appeal to millions. Wild inaccuracy and neurotic staff aside it is a BAD game thoroughly eclipsed by Ghost of Tsushima (whose team nailed what AC was supposedly aiming for with a team and budget a fraction of the size). Play ACS for a few hours and then play GoT. The difference is night and day. At times Shadows feels like an indie knockoff of GoT and that only leads us to ask - where did the money go? Certainly not on the writing team. The issues wouldn't matter if this were a FUN game. It is not and you might feel it wasn't mean to be. This is where Ubi's hubris has brought them. Let them and their arrogance fade into obscurity.

I'll address the elephant in the room first - Vavra lied about the content of this game and that is unacceptable. Whatever your side in the debate around this game you must agree that that is an unacceptable business practice. Any developer resorting to such tactics needs to go. A reminder to all to never EVER preorder a game. As for the game itself it is more of the same jank (multiple reports of bugs and glitches) with a new coat of paint and with a few added ingredients everyone already hates. The combat is (still) pretty abysmal by modern standards. Any charm the original had has made way for the same nonsense everyone hates in modern video games (you know the one). They could've just let KCD be KCD. They did not. The games creator lying through his teeth means the future of this series is looking uncertain. But this is it for me. I will not fund and thereby support a series that infects itself with everything wrong with modern gaming. The tide has shifted. Let some be pulled under.

When I think 'Fantasy RPG' I do not think of anything this game offers. What should be an epic quest in a vibrant fantasy world is instead fanfiction from the lowest most self-obsessed hive of villainy the internet has to offer. Self-flagellating via press-up as penance for misgendering should never have made it past playtesters. It is 2024 and rather than exploring space we're making video games where characters argue about genitals. All of this could've been forgiven if it were a good game but it is not. The budget went on their HR dept and little else. If you support this you deserve it.

TL:DR - I don't know how but they've managed to sell us even LESS **** this time. It is Tekken 7 with a new coat of paint and a new set of problems. This is not the game we should be presented with after they have **** the barrel with T7 since 2015. You would be a fool to continue to throw money at Harada after this is the game he presented us with. Tekken is my favourite fighting game series by a mile, I've been with the series since T2 and this is just not good enough. Fighting game studios should be given the same amount of criticism any other type of dev would get after delivering a lazy re-skin and calling it a sequel. Characters have LESS moves than in the previous game. Lazy customization options copypasted from Tekken 7 (some even from TTT2).A small roster of unbalanced characters old and new and they're already withholding copypasted characters for Day 1 DLC. The new systems are half baked and akin to Tekken Ball (which is a redundant addition to T8)Characters should not be able to infini-combo you like you're a balloon while you are lying horizontally on the ground. We have a mode for that already - it is called Tekken Ball mode. Characters should not be able to uppercut you when you're lying on the ground.Combat feels sticky and imprecise and is markedly SLOWER than it's **** has a gross level of visual noise that at times make it look like a Demon Slayer episode on mushrooms. Main story evokes Avengers-esque free-for-all melee nonsense and by it's end feels like nothing was resolved. I am half expecting a battle royale mode paid DLC in future. No - Jin going from 'Power is everything' to 'Power is (not) everything' is not profound character development considering he was the WorldKaiser a couple of games ago. If this is the best modern fighting games can do then maybe it's time to play something different. They need to reboot it because it's getting stupid. You can tell even the devs don't take it seriously any more. So why should we?

It's average. I don't regret playing the game but by comparison it only serves to make Fromsoft games look better. Graphically it is pretty but only up to the point you start moving. Then the frame rate makes Elden Ring's appear tolerable. Even with the online mode disabled LOTF judders around like Dark Souls with a bad connection. Commands stack as the game tries to make sense of them, killing you in the process. How an offline game can lag (for up to a second in the worst cases I experienced) is beyond me. While pretty the game is generic in it's design with nothing to set it apart from the things it is inspired by to the point of plagiarism. It is not a bad game but it should focus more on it's own ideas rather than everyone else's. It is case in point for big studios making style over substance DS clones that lack the core gameplay. As such it only shows just how much better at game design From are.

TLDR - Brilliant game soured by cringy developer self inserts. For : D&D perfection for current gen. Would be a 10 if not for developers acting like cringelords and self-inserting constantly. Against : Forces certain seggsual preferences to the forefront of pretty much everything. Making it a militant biseggsual simulator doesn't do the brilliant game system justice. You cannot enjoy the spirit of camaraderie present in, say, The Hobbit or LOTR because you can rarely ever say 'Hello' to someone without them offering to jump your bones. It cheapens the experience and sours an otherwise brilliant once-in-a-lifetime experience. Nobody is asking for the deletion of different preferences, simply saying they do not need to be front and centre for everything. There are moments of awful writing straight out of the stalest US TV shows (think Forspoken) and humour from people afraid to make jokes (think reddit).

TLDR : The game is presented as a Lamborghini but inside it is a used Volvo. They chopped one area off the original unfinished game and sold it to you for near full price. None of the bugs are solved and there are even some new ones. The story is great and it is the only thing that carries this undercooked broken abortion of a video game. Don't let the coolness of the actors fool you. Anyone who tells you the game is finally finished is lying to you. The difference in minimal and it is still a buggy, unfinished mess. Even Bethesda would baulk at this game. Cyberpunk 2077 has been carried by the cult of personality of Keanu from day one and now it is carried by the success of Edgerunners and other admittedly stellar actors. The presentation of the game is what keeps it alive. Anyone currently mashing the dislike button ought to question how and why they continue to play it. It is not for the game itself. The story and characters are what keep people coming back and in a video GAME that is not enough. While Dark Souls is all game and little story, Cyberpunk is the opposite - all story and very little game. They have not fixed it and anyone telling you it's a 10 and the fullest realisation of what they originally promised (but didn't deliver) is a liar. You cannot trust anyone who says this is an acceptable game.

It is very much aimed at Game of Thrones fans who want that feel in a video game in 2023. It does straight up steal wholesale from ASOIAF and people who have read the books will be able to guess a lot of the story. While story-wise it nails it the aesthetic is slightly off. The creators stick too closely to FF staples and paradigms to the detriment of cohesion. The grimdark subject matter is offset by our grizzled and haunted heroes riding giant eyepatch-wearing chickens. It undermines what they were aiming for. The cuhrazay anime nonsense also undermines the tone. I have 1000 words more but for some reason metacritic keeps 403'ing when I try to post it. Detailed reviews be damned I suppose.

A fun Roguelite that sabotages itself with a saturation of un-funny humour and shoehorned identity politics (see : a trait that states your character likes both boys and girls that adds nothing to the RPG aspect of the game. A useless exercise in box-ticking). Few people in 2023 are going to be angered by the presence of certain preferences in games but this feels like the makers have shoehorned even more of it into the sequel. The game partially builds on its predecessor but feels as if it is lacking in some areas. It is a fun game but the boring lore and pushing of certain preferences are not needed in a game that one ought to be marketing to the masses. I find myself playing it in spite of these annoyances rather than taking them as a crucial aspect of the game. The Dark Souls Lite approach to lore is also lame and along with the 'humour' should be resigned back to Failarmy circa 2013. Mechanics-wise it's fun and the new abilities (or repurposed old ones) feel satisfying. Dropping the obnoxious writing style and the other aspects would help broaden this games appeal. It could be marketed to children and adults alike but it seems content to settle in it's little niche, unfortunately rendering it average.

Not in a million years. A butchered out of date roster, laughable animation, poor controls and graphics that are PS2 tier. In 2023. PS2 TIER. A CEO with unlimited funds ought to be giving us the second coming. Not something that could pass for an indie project. No Mercy this definitely ain't. TLDR: Westernized soulslike with added politics. Deserves to have been a better game but they played themselves. An average soulslike hampered by poor level design, uninspired combat and shoehorning of the usual politics. It has that strange disconnect between attacking the enemy and feeling it connect (think DS2). A interesting initial concept that they managed to sully with their own immature grandstanding. It wasn't needed in a game that was (again) initially different enough to be special. But once this appeared it served as a reminder how average the game is. TLDR Good : Stunning graphics, fun dino dynamics Bad : Shut up Aloy, Weird disconnect with the combat/hitboxes, **** bugs not ironed-out, soulless npcs nobody cares about. Overall : Visual style over gameplay substance but still worth playing (at least until Elden Ring comes out). It's more of the same style over substance with HFW. The cast of characters all look like castoffs from the 90s show Tribe and the different tribes are all barely-distinguishable hippies in dayglo facepaint. The story is godawful and you will find yourself skipping through it because you just do not care about facepainted npc #9002. The world is stunningly beautiful to look at but poorly-designed (think AC Odyssey). A lot of it is irrelevant wilderness. An open world game can feel vast even if it doesnt have hundreds of miles of world. HFW feels like a lot of copypasted textures and areas. The combat sorely needs a lock on. Whether owing to bugs or poor design you will often find yourself getting one-shot by things not appearing on screen/appearing too late or too early. The hitboxes are all over the place. The biggest stumbling block and the worst offender is Aloy (chubby face aside). Where once she was endearing now she is a **** tutorial bore. She is constantly, constantly, constantly, constantly quipping. You will audibly tell her to shut up and you will do it into the double digits. There are times where you are not even afforded the chance to solve a basic Zelda 'shoot-the-glowy-thing' puzzle without Aloy straight up telling you what to do. This game treats you like a dribbling moron. And this is with the accessibility options turned off. You cannot take in the beauty of this game without wishing its protagonist would shut up. If you pick up a rock she quips. If you pick up a plant she quips. If you take longer than 5seconds to solve a puzzle she quips and tells you what to do. This makes the game a tour. And it ****. Because it could be a GOTY contender if Aloy were quieter and made to fit into the games world more. There is an odd disconnect at times and she will clip through things. This game is another case of 'look at the pretty graphics! never mind the glitchy gameplay!'.

Pros: Beautiful graphics, Fan-pleasing content, Better combat than Ninja Storm games Cons: Shallow gameplay sections, Incoming microtransactions, Butchered cast, Graphical effects can be blinding at times It is a fun game but suffers from a lack of content and looming microtransactions that make the full price tag feel too much. The graphical style is great but the game is an arena fighter with some tacked-on 'walk in a straight line' missions. There is a part where you walk in a straight line while some dialogue plays and you can pick up 2 items directly in front of you. Megaselling Ghibli Slayer or not - this is bad 'gameplay'. Cutscenes transformed into walking sessions for the player are only there to give the illusion of content and they need to go. There is some beautiful gaming here but unfortunately it is right next to some of the laziest and worst examples of modern gaming. If they copypasted this graphical style onto a Sekiro engine it would print money (assuming they added a Games Journalist Easy Mode for non hardcore gamer fans).

More new content and a whole stunning island to explore. This is DLC done right. And the upgrade to ps5 specs makes the game even more beautiful. You will not regret buying this game. See my previous review below: Ghost of Tsushima is a stunning game. I have never before played a game with such a vibrant open world. It feels lived-in, it feels living. Before GoT I never experienced ASMR from a video game. Now I do. The falling of leaves, petals etc make this a magical world akin to something from a Studio Ghibli film. Equal parts Journey, Bushido Blade and Tenchu this is a game that has been constructed to please the people who forked out for it. Comparing it to TLOU2 is unfair to Naughty Dog because GoT blows it away. I dont know why anyone would choose TLOU2's edgelord nihilism over the magic of GoT - a game whose creators went out of their way to make enjoyable. Also comparisons to Assassins Creed persist but speaking as a fan of AC since the first one (though not so much recently) I am not throwing the games under the bus when I say that AC has never been this good. Not even close. Jin Sakai is a great MC who veers away from the preaching that has become commonplace in Western games and proves that gamers do not need forced MCs who mirror them at the threat of twitter mob outrage. There could be a case made that it is not as long as some other open world games but I would counter that there is no extraneous flab in GoT. Just classy, relevant substance. Its side missions serve a purpose, add to the plot and build the world Jin is trying to save. The add fuel to Jin's desire to save it at all costs. It is so refreshing to have side missions that serve a purpose and aren't just 'Deliver this persons frying pan'. It is a game that makes you care about its casts philosophies without badgering you with encyclopedias on why you're supposed to care (a la Death Stranding). Its world is magical and you want to protect it as much as Jin does. It isnt an exercise in making you feel like crap like TLOU2. It captures the essence of nature and play (which in reality are intertwined anyway). Ghost of Tsushima is a strong contender for Game of the Year and it would take something godlike to deny it.

The director's cut adds a new area, a racetrack, some songs, a few missions and a few items. What caused them to think that this games ATROCIOUS driving warranted a race track I do not know. It is abhorrent. The new area (building and top of a hill) is beautiful but really is something that was cut out in order to sell back to us later on. Wait for the price to fall. It isnt 2deep4u. It is a walking sim given a kojima makeover with added urination and poop jokes. This is the point where we must stop kissing Hideo's rear because his games are suffering. From the visionary who brought us the first 3 MGS games we are right in expecting more. Maybe its time he left video games to people who enjoy playing them and just go off to make movies. For my original review see below: First and foremost It is a walking sim. The presentation and actors are great and the world looks beautiful but there is very little actual gameplay fun to be had here. Hideos intentions are honourable verging on sickly but the point persists that video games must be fun and there is very little to be found in DS. This is exactly the kind of bloated movie with added game that konami canned him for. In no way is it acceptable to have to skip the same 4 cutscenes every time just to shower. I would urge players to note the amount of times they have thought 'just let me play the game'. And from past experience we know that games that do this lack gameplay - MGS4 for example. At this point Hideo should just go and make movies because the severe amount of bloated pointless garbage in this game renders gameplay an afterthought. It is charming: the cast are great and a few terrible lines aside its a fairly solid (sorry) story. But it is a lot less smart than it believes itself to be. It is everything questionable/bad about Hideos games and please note i am saying this as a fan of 20years and having completed DS and nearly Platinum'd it. It is blatant that Kojima has played and attempted to ripoff games like Journey and Firewatch. DS is a big budget faux-hollywood version of these games. Isolation is a theme throughout but upon beating the game it feels more like an excuse for foisting an empty world on us. I will never condone konamis practices but after experiencing DS i can understand why they kept tabs on the Kojimaisms in all the games hes released. This is not an MGS2-esque prophecy that will be relevant in a decade - it is a knee-jerk pander piece trying to cash in on modern political paranoia. What many will refuse to admit is that after making a series based on the Patriots system of control you spend DS building one yourself amid claims that it will 'bring da people togevur'. The formula for the gameplay we do get is 'Go from A to B dodging ghosts or humans - meet thank you hologram - rinse and repeat' and it is not good enough. I cannot tell you how many times my thumb ached from holding the same direction for minutes on end. A total lack of dynamism. It is honestly an amazon simulator and any majesty the world had evaporates when you can build roads through it. I have lost a lot of faith in my usual trusted reviewers because theyre calling this game a 9+/10 and that is nowhere near true. Hideo is a genius and the world sorely needs his games. But this is barely a game. I think we have reached the point where he should just go and make movies because this game is an afterthought attached to one.

Tl:dr : A genuinely special game everyone ought to try. It really is an experience. While killjoys might call it limited or dated it hearkens back to when game designers had to make the most of what they had - not slap on 50hour cutscenes (Hi Hideo) or copy and paste an empty environment of irrelevant space (Hi Asscreed). It isnt a huge game but what it is is a game of relevant largeness. It isnt all a world of emptiness and space for spaces sake. The soundtrack is brilliant. Combat is good but lacks a feel of weight. While there arent a million magical arts they do stay true to the original. The story is every bit as eclectic as one would expect. In a world where Hideo Kojima has disappeared up his own rear end the world needs more Yoko Taros. This game has soul. Many games lack it nowadays. Rather than ripping off the latest fad game designers ought to take spiritual inspiration from Nier and Taro.

Tl:dr - A better cyberpunk game than cyberpunk 2077 that unfortunately suffered from the curse of Get Woke : Go Broke (the red flag signifying unfinished games trying to coast on their politics) and rampant microtransactions. There was a top game here that was butchered with the intent to sell back to us. As ever - ignore anyone who tries to tell you this is a 10. There are the makings of a 9 or 10 here but as it is it isnt worthy of it. The game is unfinished. Not 'cyberpunk 2077 unfinished' but 'missing a couple of Acts' unfinished. Its clear these cuts were made with the intention of selling them to us at a later date (and the storm surrounding the games microtransactions put paid to that). They shouldve learned their lesson from the prequel. Obnoxious attempts to relate it to current (then and now) politics sour the narrative and induce cringe. Jensen is a great near iconic protagonist who deserves better. The game wouldve been a smash if they had focused on finishing it rather than vulturizing it with intent to sell it back to us.

Tldr : Basically pretty Dark souls for weebs with added 1-shotting. Playing this after Dark Souls, Sekiro or ghost of Tsushima shows just how limited it is. Good: Beautiful graphics and character designs. Weapon variety. Stance changing adds variety. Possession is an interesting mechanic. Bad: Too many instances of enemies 1-shotting you. Too many instances of light speed hitboxes killing you before you can react. Stop/Start battle dynamics. Poor level design. Looter sho...slasher mechanic is tired.

Its the same game as 7 re-sold with a faux-bloodborne makeover. Movement is still agonisingly slow. Shooting isnt so much better than its not as bad as it was in 7. Lets dispense with the LOL STEP ON ME MOMMY stupidity - shes barely in the game. The game has been speedran(runned?) already clocking in at just over an hour. This is another lazy effort from capcom after the resi arcade waste of time that was remake3. Every time you give them your money you allow them to put out garbage like this. 'Oh but the OG resident evils were short!' - Yes in the 90s. Decades ago. Its blatant that theyre botting metacritic because in no way is this game a 10. Wait for the shill cheques to clear and then see what people really think of this game before buying. You have been warned.

Disregard anyone calling this a 10. It isnt. Nowhere near. They are bots or paid shills. Do not pay £/$70. This game is not worth that price. This is a pretty game that wears out its welcome quickly. Bullet hell games shouldnt have hit detection this poor. The random nature ruins any meaningful flow and quickly becomes the equivalent of banging your head against a brick wall until it crumbles randomly. At times it is fun but it lacks basic features that are mandatory in 2021. And **** is missing basic features it does not warrant full price. Ever. This is your typical 'look at the pretty graphics look at the pretty graphics lol nevermind the lack of content' early new gen game. It will be free on ps plus as soon as ps5s are available again. I saw reviews saying it uses the new ps5 controller better than Astros Playroom and to that i say BS. Aesthetically it is pleasing and the sound is good. But it is **** (if that). It feels like the add on thats unlocked after completing a campaign. It tries hard to make repetition a gimmick but the discerning gamer wont buy that. Buy this second hand (its readily available at a reduced price already).

Got it free as part of a ps5 bundle (the only way to get a ps5 currently it seems). It is apparent that with every passing year they charge you more and sell you less ****. It is unfinished and STILL suffers from the same issues COD has always suffered with. Connection issues that make it more a battle of internet providers than of skill etc etc etc. A game that sells as much as COD shouldnt have these problems. It certainly should not be released unfinished. If call of effing duty is allowed to release unfinished then gaming is in deep trouble. Stop buying these games. Stop supporting it. Games-as-service needs to go. If we continue to send money towards these games then we will deserve everything we get. Stop funding your own exploitation.

I do not recommend playing this 'game'. I hesitate to call it a game because your progress is barely dependent on skill - Either you roll the latest top character in the game or you dont.I give it a 1 because it does have some fun aspects and was a life support for Bleach during the years prior to the animes return but truly BBS is a gambling machine. For the trolls : yes I know very well that this is a gacha but that is zero excuse for the abhorrent practices at work with this game. The new player has a rank system that is there to peer pressure them into spending real money on orbs to gamble for a CHANCE to get a character that is usually the difference between staying in your league and being demoted. The chances for certain gamebreaking characters are infinitesimally low yet seem to rise when one spends real money (funny that). This 'game' also features a subscription service that TAKES AWAY the bonus items given should you cancel the subscription. Completely and utterly unacceptable. No game should ever make you grind for months and have nothing to show for it. There is no merit in this game - either you get the gamebreaking character or you dont. This is gambling disguised as a video game and it needs to go.

I expected to hate it. I thought it was vapid shovelware but I was wrong. It is a charming love letter to the playstation's history and is a great demo of all of the new ps5 controller functions. The haptic feedback is great. You can feel the grass as you trot along, the wind as you struggle against it and the water as you dive in. I did not expect the poignant 'oof' moments this game gave me as it showcased just how far PS and the gamer have come. It is like if mario galaxy morphed into a love letter to playstation. It is short but considering the depth of things to do its the perfect solution for parents who want to keep their kids away from their Demon's Souls save files. I dare anyone to not be charmed by this. It gets a 6 on the basis that it is a tech demo but it is more than that would suggest. If they doubled the size and marketed it to kids it could be a huge hit. I expected to hate it - after playing it i just couldn't.

Its a 5/10. A ps5 game shouldnt control like this even if it is meant to be a 'faithful remake' (it isnt). The content is too light and there needed to be more items/armour/weapons (and I dont mean level locked special edition weapons that are useless as soon as you leave 1-1). The game visually is stunning (as it should be) bar the facial expressions of the characters. These are not good. Ps2 tier. Theyre not grotesque in the endearing way like in other Soulsborne games. They are just bad. Mass Effect Andromeda bad. And to address the elephant in the room and trigger hatemail - this is what happens when you let a non-japanese team make a souls game. American politics from the get go mar this game. The rubix cube characterisation is idiotic and is not needed in a japanese game made originally by japanese people. It only serves to show why so many people adopt a 'japanese games only' approach - theyre tired of propaganda in video games. There was none of this in any of the From Games prior. Consider it testament to how politics in the west ruin everything in gaming. I have a feeling that in the years to come we will look back on this game in embarrassment as blind pandering led to more offensive portrayals than it might ever have destroyed. I will say 'Satsuki' and move on. The control scheme doesnt make the most of the ps5's raw power. It still feels 'choppy'. Memes and player message palettes bordering on walkthroughs also have no place in Souls games. Souls games became popular because they were always themselves. They taught you rather than pandered to you. Reducing them to dated meme machines does them a huge disservice. We dont need pop anime or Simpsons references in games because all they do is lower the games content to the value of clickbait list fodder. tldr : DS got a AAA makeover making it pretty but in return was made every bit as vapid as that classification suggests by the western stupidity injected into it.

tl:dr - It's a broken Deus Ex Theft Auto with added sex toys. Yes it is broken. Still. As of February 2021 it does not fall above the threshold for being considered a finished product. It is out a year early judging by the lack of polish (pun intended). The glitches and bugs are too numerous to list here. There are A LOT. Never have I had a game that crashes my ps4 more than this one. Given a years more work and polish the game would be a GOTY contender. I personally wouldnt put it above Ghost of Tsushima based on the fact that GOT is a lovingly crafted game that never crashed on me once, has interconnected side missions that actually contribute to the story and has a better environment. I understand that Night City IS the main antagonist in Cyberpunk but that doesnt make it any nicer a world to exist in. GOT is a world that surrounds you with the brutality and beauty of nature. Night City is a hole of excrement that you can hardly blame Johnny for wanting to burn to the ground. I would be interested in knowing just how many people would ever choose to save it in a Life is Strange Bae or Bay type choice. I would bet a prosthetic limb or two that most would crater-ize it. In current year the adult content is cringeworthy and embarrassing and not needed in a video game. Think Custer's Revenge level idiocy. Adult toys are everywhere and after the original 3 second duration of 'lol benis' they become embarrassing and make the player wonder if it maybe isnt time to put the controller down and do something more worthy of your time. It isnt mature or provocative. Its irrelevant and we have seen it all before. Gameplay wise it is in the vein of Bioshock or Deus Ex but set in a sub-GTA sandbox. I do not recommend this game. For all its strengths (the city looks nice-ish when it bothered to load up) it is not complete. Wait a year minimum and see if they can salvage this. Do not pay full price for this game. £20 max. If they add multiplayer with paid DLC then avoid this like the plague.

I gave ubisoft a chance. I will not be doing it again. This is the same politics-infected mess we have come to expect from them and now is the time to stop funding it. AC games used to be brutal but joyous reveries into history. Now it is giving the Reddit inclusivity treatment to every time period and, as 1984 tells us, the destruction of history is a red flag (pun intended). Ubisoft - we see through your preaching even if you try to include it as metaphor. There is zero point to making a historical video game if you dont even try to make it reminiscent of the time. We can make do with things left out or changed due to a lack of historical knowledge but ACV outright lies to our faces and that is unacceptable. Surely I dont need to highlight the irony of preaching about justice in a game about Assassins. Gamewise its the same copypasted Origin and Odyssey gameplay with minimal differences no doubt from the equally historically-incorrect Vikings tv show.
