Pretty Lethal

You don’t watch a movie like this for character or dialogue, you watch it to see fierce, strong young women twirl, kick, and stab their way through a pack of mobsters to the sound of Tchaikovsky. On that front, Pretty Lethal delivers. Brava, ladies!

The more it generates spectacle, the more you notice how the screenplay fails to keep in step.

The drawback here is that, although it doesn’t need a deep story, it feels like only two and a half acts, with an abrupt third act.

Pretty Lethal is at its best when it’s a straightforward film about bloody fights and survival. This isn’t the most complex concept, and when the movie tries to include unnecessary details, it stops the narrative dead in its tracks.

The impression Pretty Lethal leaves behind is one of unfulfilled potential, an exciting premise executed as a fitfully fun but mostly forgettable distraction.

Pretty Lethal is a wonderfully original idea, but its execution falls flat.

There are times when what should be escapism approaches “Hostel” levels of viciousness, just one of the many issues with a film that seems incapable of settling on a tone.

Pretty Lethal (2026) Highly Entertaining (12,376 – 05 Apr 2026 – Claudio Carvalho) In Los Angeles, the British ballet teacher Miss Thorna (Lydia Leonard) tells her ballerinas Bones (Maddie Ziegler); the spoiled Princess (Lana Condor); the religious Grace (Avantika); the deaf and dumb Chloe (Millicent Simmonds); and her sister Zoe (Iris Apatow) that they have been invited to dance in a prestigious theater in Budapest. They travel to Hungary and while going to Budapest by bus, it breaks down. They decide to walk and stumble upon the remote Teremok Inn that belongs to the former ballerina Devora Kasimer (Uma Thurman). They are welcomed and invited to dry their clothes. Out of the blue, the gangster Pasha (Tamás Szabó Sipos) harasses Miss Thorna, who reacts and kicks his balls, and he shots her head. Now Devora needs to get rid of the ballerinas to avoid problem to her business. But the girls are pretty and lethal. “Pretty Lethal” (2026) is a highly entertaining film with a funny story. The plot is full of action and will certainly be appreciated by the viewers that like the combination of action and comedy. My vote is seven. Pretty Lethal delivers a solid watch with a refreshingly different premise, blending action with a ballerina-inspired **** film benefits from the return of Uma Thurman, whose presence adds a layer of gravitas and nostalgia. However, while the action is engaging at times, some sequences feel uneven—particularly moments where it seems like only one character is carrying the weight of the fight, which takes away from the overall intensity.Despite its flaws, the movie offers enough intrigue and stylistic flair to keep viewers invested. It’s not perfect, but it’s worth a watch.

Unique action flick is a unique take on a 'John Wick' style flick but with ballerinas (?). Set pieces are set up realistically for better or worse. You just can't expect teenage ballerinas to flight 'kung fu style'. Better than you think it is but not by much

Bravo. Bravo, I say. I do believe this gave me the occasional chuckle.. and I’m almost kind of positive that it’s not just because I was drinking!

Really bad acting, no character development at all, and then they dive into the boring plot. Is it really that f***ing hard to make a movie? The unfortunate truth is that filmmakers probably know how to do these things by now, even c0ked out producers in the 50's-80's knew how to do it. The real people to blame are the current phone addicted 5 second attention span idiots. Haven't seen a good movie in so long because 95% of people are idiots now glued to their phones, so shows and movies have to have stagnant characters who never change or have variance.
