Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1

Konami could have done more, for sure. There are several titles that really could have been included in this collection for the sake of completion – Metal Gear Solid 4 remains locked to the PlayStation 3, while MGS Acid and Twin Snakes look pretty set to be lost to time at this point. Sure, MGS V remains a viable product in its own right, but Konami really could have filled us in on the rest...With that being said, the original Metal Gear Solid trilogy isn’t just a trio of great games that people have strong nostalgia for. They’re genuine masterpieces and deserve to be preserved into perpetuity. This collection is a perfectly adequate way of preserving them for this hardware cycle.

Overall, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 is a pretty substantial collection (even with Vol. 2 in the works) with six games and a ton of bonus content ranging from graphic novels, soundtracks, scripts and more. Metal Gear Solid is really the only game I have any complaints about. Since it’s being emulated, and there are plenty of emulators out there that can smooth out or upscale textures, they could have used or created an emulator that allows for some smoother textures and/or upscaling. This is still a must have for any Metal Gear fan, and even if you are new to the series or have only played Metal Gear Solid V, this is a perfect opportunity to play the games that started it all!

From the today’s Konami you would expect a lazy port of the HD Collection and of the original Metal Gear Solid. But in Tokyo someone still love the series, and this first of volume of the Master Collection really shows some heart in reselling three masterpieces of the video games history and a bunch of the 2D chapters (including Snake’s Revenge).

The Master Collection is a robust bundle comprising three classic games and a plethora of additional content. It serves as a warm invitation to both seasoned veterans and newcomers to the franchise. However, it's important to note that MGS 1 hasn't aged as gracefully.

The first volume of the new Metal Gear collection brings several legendary titles from the beginning of this once extremely popular series, along with a couple of never-before-released bonus content that definitely has something for old fans. However, KONAMI's laziness to devote more time to polishing these titles makes the compilation seem like only a half-sincere attempt to bring players' attention back to Snake and crew.

This game is a compilation that every true computer addict should have in his home. Actually play it... he probably doesn't need to. [Issue#332]

At best, the Metal Gear Solid HD Master Collection is a cynical cash grab that is trying to repackage and resell you on nostalgia. There are very few reasons to part with your cash at this point: wait for a proper ground-up remake.

This is a must have for any MGS fan or person trying to get into the MGS series. I personally have had no issues with this collection and love I as a fan of the series. I am hoping the do a MGS master collection volume 2 eventually.

Not worth it. In simple words don't buy this collection konami did a very lazy work 30 fps 720p locked . no option to change in setting. Waiting for remake is better option. These games are masterpiece no doubt! But this collection is no good

A comforting anthology for diehards, with some disappointing omissions, sweetened by the inclusion of certain curios. TGG – 7 / 10 AUDIO 8/10 Some of the best scores composed for games and featuring full digital track lists to listen to. The scores haven’t been remastered; they’re just presented as is. VISUALS 7/10 Standard ports of the HD Collection, and a low-maintenance port of Metal Gear Solid 1 – beautiful in their day but nothing has been done to them here. PLAYABILITY 7/10 A slew of classic stealth games, all of which hold up very well, and shine a light on modern stealth games in interesting ways – though custom save points would have been nice. DELIVERY 6/10 There are five main games here, totalling well over 60 hours, and there are a number of intriguing curios and oddities. But there are also some disappointing omissions, and the overall lack of effort with the collection is a shame.

In un'epoca in cui ci sono remastered e remake, Konami pensa bene di prendere giochi di 20 anni fa e rivenderli per le console attuali senza modificarne nulla, sia tecnicamente che graficamente..

Ha qualche scritta e approfondimento sui giochi ma graficamente non osa azzardare per nulla, godo che Kojima non lavori più per quei venduti di Konami, o dovrei dire "conati" perché fate solo vomitare. E per di più costa pure troppo!
