The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is certainly not quite the “resurrection” we would have liked to see. It's a trial balloon for Bethesda. But it still turned out pretty well.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is good once you come to grips with the approach. The minor gameplay tweaks are welcome, but the presence of some longstanding bugs test your tolerance for having an authentic experience. The game has a mostly fantastic presentation, but what will hold your attention is the gameplay with a world that isn't as sprawling as Skyrim yet is just as packed with interesting things to do and some side-quests that can grab your attention better than the main questline. If you have a powerful PC and want to experience this with good gamepad support, you'll be happy with this remastering of a modern classic.

This would be one of the best examples of a remaster done right if it weren't the severe technical issues plaguing this release. Nevertheless, Oblivion still holds up as an amazingly engaging role-playing experience all these years later. I simply can't get enough.

I really wanted to love this game. But the bugs, the jankiness, not to mention the updates for the modern audience really drained the joy right out of it.

I've been waiting for this remake for years, and what does Bethesda have to show for it? A game breaking quest bug 2 hours in, along with **** performance and janky controls. These elements completely sapped my excitement for this game, and I could not be more dissapointed in how this company handles its titles.

There are very few times that I don't believe my own eyes, but Oblivion Remastered has managed to throw me back two decades, and give me exactly the same jaw drop at the age of 31 as when I was 13.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is the best remaster of Oblivion that fans could ask for. The spirit of the original is held intact and delivered with amazing new visuals and slight gameplay improvements; just beware the occasional performance issues, and remember that the improved gameplay is still 19 years old.

Should have been optimized better, but managed to fix some annoying quirks of the original and the graphics are pretty. Anyway, Skyblivion will be peak.

While Oblivion may not be the best Elder Scrolls game, it still packs a punch in 2025. Despite being a product of its time, it remains a thoroughly enjoyable experience—even with its original quirks and the occasional early-era bug. This is a game worth buying, if only for the joy of embarking on a long and wondrous journey through lands and characters you'll remember for years to come. A piece of gaming history that shouldn't be left behind—and likely a must-play if you've never experienced it before.

Everyone downloaded that 120 gigabytes just for the sake of the name The Elder Scrolls, but somehow saving Cyrodiil ended up being my responsibility. And I think I might've made things even worse. Oh well, we'll fix it with some mods, right?... Right?

I think Oblivion Remastered is a skilful re-release of a legendary game that will bring out the nostalgia in most who have lived with the story and Martin Septim's battle against Mehrunes Dagon for almost two decades. Bethesda and Virtuos has kept the atmosphere and skeleton of what Oblivion was and updated it to feel fresh. Oblivion is a product of its time, and I don't know if new players will be able to live with the jank and awkwardness that the rest of us find charming today, but as a beautiful and shiny time capsule, Oblivion Remastered is everything you could want. No more and no less.

The original Oblivion’s a great game, and this remaster’s a good re-packaging of it. It’s an excuse to fire up an Elder Scrolls title that doesn’t feel a million miles from contemporary yet again, but I’m still not sure we needed one.

One of the greatest RPGs ever made remade with modern graphics. Absolute amazing.

It's Oblivion with a beautiful new coat of paint. It's mostly great, if you can turn a blind eye to the performance problems. Bethesda games are famous for having hillarious bugs, but the fact that this is a remaster means it's impossible not to be annoyed by the stuttering and inconsistent performance.

I love this remaster and everything about it is nearly perfect BUT I cannot give this game a positive review just simply because of how poorly it runs on base Ps5. I can't speak for the pro as I dont own one. The performance on performance mode is abysmal and the performance in quality mode isn't any better. Feels very choppy and inconsistent throughout the playthrough. Dungeons run amazingly but as soon as you step out into the overworld everything falls apart.

The first game after mods made by community had a great insight. TBut this remastered need fix many bugs imported by first version of the game. Bethesda had serious problems with your devs. Perfomance issues, NPCs bugs same like the 2006, and strange change the sex of character after 4 oblivion portals closed (like old patch on 2006) make me remember how MODDERS and Fans are so good to video **** SKyblivion project was amazing i think Bethesda need that kind of developer with love.
SummaryThe Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion™ Remastered modernizes the 2006 Game of the Year with all new stunning visuals and refined gameplay.
