I get why people are tired of Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed, but if you drop the baggage, this is a good game. The quiet tranquility of ancient rural Japan is an experience you can't find anywhere else (Ghosts of are a different animal). It gives BOTW vibes. The stealth is great. Don't listen to the haters. This is a solid gaming experience.

Shows it’s age but an excellent classic. The Switch 2 version looks and performs amazingly. The atmosphere is as good as you’ll find in any. New game today. But the missions are repetitive, the pacing is slow and there’s not a lot of variety. In 2026, RDR is more about vibes than content.

The bad reputation is deserved. It's a straight up corridor shooter, but the gunplay is wonky, The enemies don't react to being hit so it's unclear if you even hit them. Hitting legs doesn't knock them over, so there's no tactical element either. The cover system is clunky and mostly useless. The game hand-holds you too much and ... eh. I don't even want to finish this review. The same ****. I played it hoping for some good dumb fun, but it couldn't even satisfy that itch.

Great gameplay that’s very replayable. The story and setting are fine but the meat and potatoes of the game is the combat. It’s short, meaning it doesn’t have all the bloat that makes games 70 hrs. The story is replayable and there are many trials and postgame challenges to make it worth the $60.

Great pacing, bosses, gameplay variety, visuals, environments, sound, post-game activities. I didn't expect this to be one of the best in the series. I wanna rate this higher but... (A) The gameplay is shallow and enemy encounters get old fast. No variety like stealth like TLOU, dismemberment mechanic like Dead Space, flashlight mechanic like Alan Wake. Just basic point and shoot. (B) Clunky controls, cramped environment and fast powerful monsters. Lots of cheap damage. I like a challenge (I speed run RE and Metroid games), but this is more frustrating than challenging. (C) Generic, urban ruined locations. It's just been overdone with so many other games. They could've been more original with the setting. It's ok survival horror fans... but only if you're really itching for a new game. Just be prepared for annoying deaths, mundane objectives and tired locations. (D) Lots of tedious traversal to inflate the game length. Many sections of the game outstay their welcome.

It's impossible for YouTubereviews to full capture what it's like to walk around in the game's Village, Church or Castle. Everything is life-sized, whether it's the villagers, monsters or locations. The sound design and lighting contributes so it feel like you're actually there. This is hands down the best version of the game ever.

It gives you the pieces to make The Real Ghostbusters cartoon version characters, complete with Egon's blond pomp and blue/pink jumpsuit. The gameplay and balance rewards skill, and coordination. The "single" player mode is a nice addition to give context to the rest of the game. I only paid $ 8 USD and think it's well worth it. I wouldn't pay anymore than $15 for it.

Traversing the planets to get to your resource is mind numbing after a while. Then navigating the tech tree and building this so you can build that... I wanted to like this more, but it's just not fun to play. Subnautica is much more fun because resource gathering is combined with exploration of different biomes. There isn’t a lock-on feature when battling, so you’re awkwardly repositioning yourself. On top of that, the animations aren't contextual, so if you start a combo and the enemy moves, you’ll continue the animation of Kratos swinging at empty space.

The negative reaction is way overblown. Arkham Asylum and City run flawlessly. I just nearly 100% both Ayslum and City. They didn't feel compromised at all. It's the full experience with immersive visuals. I have it on PS4, and unless you're comparing them side-by-side, you can barely tell the difference... and honestly, once you're zoned into the game, it doesn't matter. As of March 17 2024, Knight is running fairly well. The graphics are blurry, but playable. I'm 23% into the campaign and I haven't run into any game breaking things. The blurry visuals make it harder to make things out, so you can't be a graceful with your batman beat-down. The Batmobile segments a little choppy, but absolutely playable since the last patch. The controls are a little inconsistent. When you sneak up behind someone, you can't do anything until you get the prompt (e.g. strangle, syringe, human shield). This makes going for Silent Assassin frustrating. There aren't autosaves either, so you have to manually save before going for a sneaky kill. Otherwise, it's aged very well. The controls and button layout are identical to the new trilogy. You can pull the camera field-of-view out so it's framed like the new games too.

Cons: (1) Very slow paced. (2) Tedious backtracking. (3) Confusing narrative (jumps between being abstract/symbolic and being actual/literal with game events). Pros: (1) Atmospheric setting with surprisingly good immersive graphics and unsettling sound design. (2) The story creates enough suspense to keep you going. Overall, it's a problematic story. The characters react bizarrely to situations. I wasn't sure if the game was trying to symbolic with things or saying these things are actually happening. It's also very slow with lots of backtracking filler to pad the length. However, its setting and vibe are the main reason to play the game. It gets under your skin and is one of the better suspense games I've played in years. If it's on sale for $10 or cheaper, I recommend it.

Update: May 2023: Bumped score from 4 to 7/10. There's a charming, well polished game in there. The music/sound, over-world environment design and attention to detail is very good. If you're able to reset your expectations and approach this as if you didn't play KB, you'll enjoy it more. I still stand by my original review, but my gripes aren't getting in the way of my enjoying of the game as much. It's still too easy, so no reply value. Downgrades: 1. There are "real-time" actions like hovering and picking up bombs that are on timers. It loses that aspect of "take as much time as you need" to make the perfect move that make turn-based strategies. 2. Removing the movement grid makes this feel more vague and sloppy. 3. Rabbids talk. They're fine as primitive creatures that can speak in broken sentences like previous games. When they speak in coherent sentences and can carry normal conversations, they lose a big part of their charm. 4. The graphics look Gamecube-era at times. By choosing for full camera-control, the game lost the ability to perfectly frame environments. The world doesn't feel as alive and lush anymore. It looks generic and lacking in detail. 5. Exploration is gone. Things are marked on the map in typical Ubisoft-fashion. Any sense of discovery is removed. 6. The battle grounds are shockingly bland. In Kingdom Battle, the battle grounds were built into the world. Here, you run into an enemy and you're taken to a generic battle ground with randomly placed cover. 7. The actual battles are lifeless and it's not only because of the boring maps and real-time actions. There's no satisfaction in setting up the perfect move and watching in play out. 8. What happened to the great music from KB? Across the board, this is a very disappointing game for anyone who liked KB. They over-thought the game mechanics and crippled themselves by going with free camera movement. On a fundamental level, the game just isn't fun anymore. 8. WTF happened to the great music from KB?
