Darwin's Paradox!
Darwin’s Paradox is a solid platformer that gambles on the movement of a new mascot, risk that pays out as the Octopus is an easily lovable one. Worth having an eye for a sequel as potentially all ingredients for a very good IP legacy are there.
Darwin's Paradox! is a wonderful platformer that's perfect for anyone needing a short adventure between larger games. With its entertaining levels, fun puzzles, and quirky enemies, its a great platformer that shouldn't be missed by any fan of the genre.

Konami has backed a game here, then, that's far from designed just to make a quick buck. Though, tentacles crossed, we hope it does that too. [Issue#423, p.110]

Solid platformer with stealth mechanics and comedy style narrative which never gets too silly. Puzzles are funny and not too easy, but game mechanics are not that deep, so they get stale at some point. Same goes with art style, a bit too basic at times. The game is totally worth its price, but nonetheless is super short.

Darwin's Paradox! is a special little mascot platformer that feels like a throwback to the PS1-era, but with all the sheen and quality of life improvements of the modern day. It's overflowing with charm, smart ideas, and fun gameplay that's all paced perfectly from chapter to chapter. As adorable as the game is, the narrative doesn't hit the highs of the Pixar films it seems to be inspired by, and it ends pretty abruptly on a cliffhanger. That, combined with some occasional checkpointing headaches are really the only blemishes on an otherwise completely lovely experience. Play this game. We don't get ones like this often.

Im blown away by the level design in the game, its very good and a bit difficult at times but save points are plenty. The time in which it takes place is one of my favorite times 1952 with all the old Americana items and the characters are simple but cool looking. Darwin is a neat creature, especially when you get the sneaky snake skin. Only mild complaint is the movement from top-side-upsidedown gets clunky slightly but after some time playing you get use to it. This game is a fun affordable piece of interactive entertainment and I highly recommend playing it, feet kicked up & cold beer in hand.

A perfect blend of animated film and video game, the game is truly stunning visually; the art direction is a refreshing change from what we’re used to seeing. The game’s difficulty is surprising—I wasn’t expecting it, but in the end, I really enjoyed it. You really want to keep going and discover each new level. The game also manages to stay fresh by constantly introducing new gameplay mechanics; the pace is very intense. I highly recommend it.

Darwin's Paradox is a brief but enjoyable 2.5D platforming adventure which also incorporates stealth and some light puzzling. It has some minor issues, such as dubious checkpointing in places, but Darwin's undeniable charm will ultimately win you over.

Darwin’s Paradox! is an original and visually captivating cinematic platformer, with a likable narrative, a compelling protagonist, and solid platforming and puzzle sections. Its biggest letdowns are the stealth elements, which slow down the pace, along with some technical imperfections and limited length. While it doesn’t quite reach the best of the genre, it’s still an enjoyable adventure and recommended for those looking for something light, creative, and unconventional.

When it works, Darwin's Paradox is an entertaining platformer with a wide variety of challenges and environments. However, its short duration, along with a number of programming issues, makes it difficult to recommend broadly. It has good ideas, but it clearly needed more time in the oven.

This cinematic platformer offers a charming protagonist and flashes of visual beauty, yet it collapses under rigid stealth and frustrating trial-and-error design. Although the platforming feels natural, the repetitive industrial environments and clunky pacing hinder the experience. It ultimately delivers a mediocre adventure that struggles to distinguish itself within a crowded genre.

It’s a surprising disconnect, one that evokes the game’s very title. Darwin’s Paradox’s name is derived from biologist Charles Darwin’s observation that coral reefs thrive in water without many nutrients. How can something so lively sustain itself in a barren environment? While unintended, Darwin’s Paradox offers up a similar conundrum: How can something so lively and pretty be so boring and bland on the inside?

Nice game but toooo difficult, you dont play, you suffer. You do it perfect or you fail. I played it with my 11 years old daughter and we didnt enjoy the game, its a pity because it could have been a great experience

I played the game on my laptop with a PS5 remote controller. Unfortunately, while the demo looked very promising, the actual game didn't add much to that. It is built on a great idea, but it is a very basic platform game. Finally, the game seemed rushed at the end. I think that I won't remember it at all in a few months.

One of the worst game i've played this year. Gameplay **** and the difficulty is so stupid. The only good point is the art i really enjoy the design of the different levels. The character is also really funny and attaching with his design but i'm really frustrated about the gameplay part.
