The Outer Worlds

The Outer Worlds is the Bethesda RPG you always wanted, but it's not made by Bethesda. This is one of the finest RPG experiences that let you take complete control of your storyline, and it's one hell of a ride.

I think anybody that enjoyed playing the Fallout games, as well as anyone that has enjoyed the Mass Effect titles, would unequivocally enjoy their time playing The Outer Worlds. I had so much fun exploring every nook and cranny, scouring out-of-the-way locations for loot, taking everything that wasn’t nailed down, and immersing myself in the otherworldy locations around Halcyon.

While a bit safe in design, The Outer World offers a well imagined new world with great writing, crazy characters & politics, 30 well-packed hours with tons of replayability and a sublime background texture of Easter eggs, tributes and well crafted jokes.

An out-of-this-world adventure that, for better and worse, feels far from alien, even if you’ve been frozen for a few years. The familiar done well and then some. [Issue#169, p.85]

Fallout similarities are distracting, but get into The Outer Worlds’ narrative meat and a more distinctive adventure emerges.

It’s safe, but very welcoming. I can even see it developing into sequels if Microsoft chooses to support it and the fans embrace it, which I have no doubt will happen – some games are just made to cosplay. For those that were disappointed with Fallout 76 going online multiplayer, this is the single-player RPG you’ve been looking for. If you’re hankering for somewhere you can while away the hours talking shit, chuckling and prodding at the locals, you won’t be disappointed.

I did not expect to like this game as much as I did. I didn't know that my decisions throughout the game will have such a huge impact not only on the main story but on the ending of the different characters, factions, and areas of the game. The story was great, the gameplay was fun, the characters were cool. In short, it was a fun experience and I highly recommend it. I can see myself playing it again to see the effects of other choices.

I had some good fun with The Outer Worlds, but I just feel like something more could have been squeezed out of this to make it really pop. It was not bad by any stretch of the word, and I would still recommend it to anyone looking for a witty, choice-based game that lets you make decisions like an RPG game should.s

Review: The Outer Worlds – A rough diamond that fails to shineThe Outer Worlds is a game born from a great concept, but unfortunately, it doesn’t push hard enough to become a true diamond. It’s difficult to classify: it has clear strengths in its design, but also flaws that become heavy over **** gameplay feels far from revolutionary—at times flat and not very immersive. The combat system is a bit clunky and unrefined, though it manages to get by thanks to its simplicity. On the other hand, the graphics, the setting, and the character/model designs are definitely the most successful and enjoyable aspects of the game.However, the comparison with the past is inevitable: it is no Fallout: New Vegas. Even if that title looks dated and technically surpassed today, it possessed a unique charm and a deep faction system that made you feel like a true part of the world. In The Outer Worlds, the narrative is decent, but the dialogues feel "lifeless" and stuck in 2010. Furthermore, for those who aren't fluent in English, the lack of an Italian dub makes the experience very tiring, constantly breaking the **** short? It’s a "Lite RPG"—decent, but not groundbreaking. It’s worth a try, but as far as I’m concerned, it doesn’t go beyond a 7/10.

first 2-3 hours were not bad but game makes you realise that the rest of the game will be same as those 2-3 hours you played just different colors and textures

I really hate this game. I hate games with excessive multi-choice dialogue options. It's so boring, and the combat is pretty boring, too.
