Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope10
Aug 9, 2016
Here begins the greatest cinematic achievement of all time, and arguably one of the greatest stories ever created. Originally conceived as a serialized popcorn fest, Star Wars surpassed even George's keen and bombastic imagination to become a central part of movie history. My point here is that Star Wars is a classic even to people who don't know Pulp Fiction from Twilight. It has everything you could possibly want: action, romance, midgets, quotable dialogue, and a reminiscent score by John Williams. Star Wars is the definition of success. Rating: 10/10

Mad Max: Fury Road9
Aug 7, 2016
Mad Max: Fury Road was sheer madness that isn't sullied with horrendous acting or dull dialogue. It's a damn blockbuster that is intense and doesn't have a sense of humor that could equated to a fluffy kitten. It's George Miller's attempt to reignite his long dormant Mad Max franchise... and my god does he ever. He single handedly delivers our saving grace in the genre of action with a blind zombie playing a fire breathing electric guitar on the back of an oil rig. If you don't love that, than why do you watch action films? Rating: 9/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Jason Bourne7
Aug 7, 2016
The original Bourne trilogy were brilliant displays of effective storylines and action. Jason Bourne, howerver, isn't quite proficient in those areas. But, it is action-packed, and provides you for a hugely entertaining experience. It's yet another intriguing and truly thrilling mystery that is acceptable in my books as far as a sequel to the Bourne franchise goes. Rating: 7/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Prisoners10
Aug 7, 2016
Prisoners was one of the most intense movie-going experience I have ever had! Denis Villeneuve masterfully weaves a haunting atmosphere and it had me on the edge of my seat the entire runtime. It creates a complex puzzle of a plot that is just impressive to behold. It unravels slowly to reveal hidden layers of depth and complexity. The actors felt real as they were emotional and nuanced, with some unforgettable moments that were just simply terrifying to experience. This film is a rare, gut-wrenching, dark and fascinating masterpiece that will be one of the most underrated of all time. Rating: 10/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Suicide Squad3
Aug 7, 2016
It's almost like the DCEU is falling into a deep dark hole and allowing the Marvel films to take over the superhero genre. Suicide Squad is yet another downfall of the DC films since 'Batman v. Superman.' It has the potential to be something great, but it's treated by director who doesn't exactly know what he's doing. It's meaningless plot makes the film a gigantic mess and it almost felt like I was wasting two hours of my summer. In other words, this film has no purpose what so ever. There are only a few character that possess that characterization they need, but a few is not good enough. These are great comic-book characters with great backstories, they should've been treated with a lot of dedication and care. Like I said, the directional spot may have been the incorrect chose for the Suicide Squad.

The Dark Knight10
Aug 6, 2016
The Dark Knight is not only a comic-book adaptation, it's a film about themes as well. The Joker's s viewpoint on chaos, order, anarchy, morality of an average human being is a key example of what I'm trying to explain. This film surpasses all the superhero flicks we get today because of complexity it has to offer to it's characters and plot. It's not about the CGI action sequences that tells the story, it's about the exploration of the theme of hero and villain, as well as order and anarchy. Rating: 10/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Man of Steel7
Jul 29, 2016
Man of Steel is one of the most underrated superhero movies of all time! My excitement for this movie definitely payed off as it is beautifully directed by Zack Snyder as he rivets me from scene to scene. He is not the greatest director ever, but he does manage to give us a pretty bad-ass superhero flick that we should come to expect out of Superman. With his masterpiece of Watchmen, he has proven us that he can indeed create a breathtaking comic-book adaptation -- excluding Batman v. Superman. Rating: 7/10

Star Trek8
Jul 29, 2016
Star Trek had me intrigued from the minute it began. With it's epic visual and special effects, it manages to create magnificently beautiful scenes. This is not a film where it enthralls you with it's tremendous CGI, it's a film where it entertains you with stellar performances and storytelling. It has character development that was impeccable to watch. You actually feel emotion for each character which was surprising given the fact that Spock was such a stuck-up. This is one of JJ Abrams' finest films and I can't wait to see what he has to offer next! Rating: 8/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

The Fault in Our Stars8
Jul 18, 2016
"The Fault in Our Stars" resulted in deep thoughts my mind was able to create, rather than to feel numb about it. It tried so hard to make us have sympathy towards the characters, and it worked beautifully. The plot is developed to be cliched, but the director was able to create every scene like it was original, which was astonishing. It had me in tears and it's a film I definitely will never forget. Rating: 8/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

The Legend of Tarzan3
Jul 17, 2016
The issue with "The Legend of Tarzan" was that I didn't give a rat's ass about any of the characters. It tries to create a romance between Tarzan and Jane so heartfelt and magical, but it doesn't have the slightest bit of affection in my eyes. There chemistry was like a bag filled with garbage about to be burned by an incinerator filled with fire. In addition, it has a big issue with it's pacing. The film starts out slow by introducing us to the important characters, but it stays that level throughout the entire two acts. When the third act commences, it starts to build up into this brutally action-packed load of nonsense. I would rather have that dispersed in those two acts and then have another over the top scene at it's conclusion. You want to watch a good Tarzan film? Watch the animated version of Tarzan back in 1999. The Legend of Tarzan ain't Tarzan the Monkey Man I know and love. Rating: 3/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

To the Wonder0
Jul 17, 2016
"To the Wonder" was not only the stupidest film I've ever seen, but the fact that the magnificent Terrence Malik was so imbecile directing it. It has a two hour runtime without even a fragment of dialouge (not including narration). It could've had compelling characters and great scenes if they just used their vocal cords to entertain us with clever and smart dialogue, but Malik chooses the wrong direction by snatching away the most vital part of making a great film. I don't come to a film wondering what could've happened; I come to see what will happen and that's not what To the Wonder delivers. Rating: 0/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

The Time Traveler's Wife7
Jul 17, 2016
The emotional level "The Time Traveler's Wife" brings is off the charts. It maximizes it's method of sadness and entertainment to the point where you can't help but love this film. You can't bare to resist Rachel MacAdams' affectionate beauty and her spiritual character she also possessed in "The Notebook." If you have a heart of stone, you cannot realize that this film is simply beautiful. Rating: 7/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within5
Jul 14, 2016
Final Fantasy: Spirits Within felt as if someone was playing a video game. Each scene was like another cut-scene you would experience when you complete a level, which can cause confusion very often. The animation was terrific, but it lacked facial expression each character was supposed to express at key moments. The voice acting felt careless and and defective, which really bothered me watching this film because it altered the enjoyment I was so much expecting. It also had a weak plot that felt very unoriginal and dull. I don't know too much about the Final Fantasy video games, but I do know that the film was very disappointing.

The Nice Guys7
Jul 12, 2016
The Nice Guys brought back nostalgia to the buddy cop genre that has been eradicated from our existence. Films such as "Lethal Weapon", "The Last Boy Scout" and "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" all have that same vibe of being humurous but inteligent at the same time. The Nice Guys has that vibe too. The plot was very tortuos to the film where there was whole bunch of twists and turns during it's three acts of fine glory. Shane Black managed to use them in a way where the audience is invested in the situation and wanting to know what will unfold in the next gripping scene as they unexpectedly appear. In addition, the chemistry between Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe was phenomenal. They provided us with a combination of sarcasm and witticisms that had me uncontrollably laughing. This is probably Shane Black's best film that he's ever made and that's a definite fact. Rating: 7/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Princess Mononoke10
Jul 7, 2016
Stunning hand-drawn animation, vast creativity, an abundance of charcterization, Princess Mononoke possess it all. It has an extremely dark atmosphere that was absolutley neccessay towards the plot that involves a war with dark spirits and raging animals that all create some sort of symbolism. This is Hayao Miyazaki's first PG-13 film and he delivered us a direction that can be opinionated as an R-rated film with it's darkness and bloodiness. This is one of my favorite anime masterpieces, right below the fantastic "Spirited Away." Rating: 10/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Punch-Drunk Love7
Jul 7, 2016
This is the fourth feature-fim of Paul Thomas Anderson and it was brilliant. For those who don't know, Adam Sandler has been known for being an unfavorably appalling actor with atrocities such as "The Waterboy," "Jack and Jill," "That's My Boy," etc. However, in the well-crafted, romantic "Punch-Drunk Love" he manages to surpass all the bad performances and brings a character who is an emotionally distressed business man with realism and great chemistry with his love interest. It's all because of Anderson's outstanding direction that made this sum-what miracle happen before our very eyes. Rating: 7/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

A Walk to Remember9
Jul 5, 2016
A Walk to Remember was a very touching romantic film that really effected my inner emotions very deeply. It's corny, commonplaced, touchy moments were endurable because it alters your mood from being exhilarated to set your eyes to the screen to being heart-broken and depressed in a good way. This is by far my favorite Nicolas Sparks adaptation; it will always be. Rating: 9/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Good Will Hunting10
Jul 4, 2016
The magical feeling you get by watching "Good Will Hunting" will make you question the meaning to filmmaking and life as a whole. When Sean Maquire (Robin Williams) states "you'll have bad times, but it'll always wake you up to the good stuff you weren't paying attention to" leads me to think of the negative moments in my life that inspired me to be a big-time movie fan. Good Will Hunting will express the deepest emotions your mind can possibly experiences by bringing you tears, laughter and even anger. Rating: 10/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

The Purge: Election Year2
Jul 3, 2016
The Purge: Election Year exceeded my expectations of being a bad film. It shows inadequate characterization and character development, a dull-witted and misleading storyline, and unnecessary amount of excessive violence that gets you cringing in your stomach throughout it's time span. This was an awful conclusion to an already dull trilogy and I am happy to see it let go. Hopefully we won't get horror films -- or even thriller films -- like this in the future. Rating: 2/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Independence Day8
Jul 2, 2016
"And should we win the day, the 4th of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the world declared in one voice: we will not go quietly into the night!" Independence Day was an idiotic film, but at the same time, it was also a great one. It's not meant to fascinate you; it's meant for enjoyment and a whole lot of fun. If you look at it that way, then you can forget the fact that this can be a dull creation and enjoy it's blockbuster, CGI, action sequences and most of the characters too. Rating: 8/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Armageddon6
Jul 1, 2016
Armageddon surprised me with the way the entire third act was greatly crafted because of it's multiple Razzie nominations including "worst picture." Other than that this film has a variety of problems. It misleads you with intense sequences that compell you from start to finish, but if you carefully examin the other aspects, you'll find that it's a big disappointment for us as an audience. The acting, writing, directing, etc was all a faulter towards the film. It's sad to say that we expected this coming from Michael Bay. Rating: 6/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Blue Valentine9
Jun 28, 2016
Blue Valentine was a very realistic romantic film that gave us a nonfictional portrayal of love and marriage. A message that it doesn't always end in "happily ever after" and the chemistry between Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams helped aid that meaning to existence. Unlike most films in it's genre, this demonstrates the reality of love and marriage and not just overused sequences of unrealism to get the fictional point across. Rating: 9/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

It Follows7
Jun 28, 2016
It Follows is a very underrated horror flick. Nowadays we get horror films such as Anabelle or Insidious that secure the genre because it entertains fans with it's fashionable jump-scares. One aspect that stood out with It Follows was that it had a very unique plot. It's hard for horror films to overcome the irritating cliches, but here it manages to create a distinctive plot that I was terrified towards. The characters may be a little flat, but overall this was a fantastic piece of cinema. Rating: 7/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

The Neon Demon7
Jun 27, 2016
The Neon Demon was an absolute horror fest with it's over the top moments that get your stomach twisting and your heart throbbing. It had similar sequences to Refn's 'Only God Forgives' where you'd experience things that quick-witted people will understand. But here he uses them to make the audience more percipient and I adored it. Rating: 7/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Only God Forgives0
Jun 25, 2016
Only God Forgives is known for being booed at the Cannes Film Festival and it totally deserved it. It's a metaphorical piece of sh** that doesn't have a scent of good dialouge or even standard acting performances because the director expects you to understand the film completely with just dragged-on scenes of emotionless staring. When you do figure out the meaning to every little boring detail, you still don't appreciate anything it has to offer: the brutal violence; the gorgeous cinematography; and the action sequences. Rating: 0/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Independence Day: Resurgence5
Jun 25, 2016
Independence Day: Resurgence was a film I didn't expect to be made into a sequel. With the absence of Will Smith, it lacks the charisma the characters once had in it's predecessor. There was a very flat acting, writing and directing collaboration in this film. However, it does manage to entertain you in a way were you're not wasting your valuable relaxing time. It hooks you in with it's outstandingly awesome action sequences with superior visual effects. Rating: 4/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Finding Dory6
Jun 22, 2016
Finding Dory was just an excuse to get people's money into the theaters. It's not as enjoyable as it's predecessor, Finding Nemo, but it will satisfy fans by bringing back some nostalgia. The film itself offers us substandard jokes, ineffective emotional sequences and just a indistinguishable plot that we've already seen before -- and that's surprising coming from Pixar. It did have some acknowledgeable moments that were quite fun to experience -- but only a few. Rating: 6/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Warcraft5
Jun 11, 2016
Warcraft is a video game adaptation that almost fails to achieve what it was looking for. It lacks the key materials to create a masterpiece or just a good film. However, I am not saying that you can't have a good time with Warcraft. It does bring excellence with it's visual effects and epic fight sequences, but nothing else. Fans of the video game franchise will be pumped for this film; regular guys like me will simply call it mediocre and nothing above that. Rating: 5/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen3
Jun 8, 2016
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was such a disappointment; we almost just expect it coming from Michael Bay. The fact that it was even worse than it's predecessor is kind-of pathetic. Everything in the dictionary of bad movie rationales, Revenge of the Fallen creates. The 3 points I give it is out of curtesy because Bay can develop great action sequences. Rating: 3/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Transformers7
Jun 6, 2016
Transformers is not the smartest movie out there, but it is a ton of fun. Michael Bay managed to create a mediocre adaptation of the Transformers animated series and probably his best film to date. It does have poor character development and acting performances, but the action sequences were so intriguing, that we almost forget the fact that they have these flaws. We expected a spine-chilling, robot-rumbling film and thats what we got. Rating: 7/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Rating: 10/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

WOW! This film was spectacular. Spirited Away was such a magical thrill-ride that I just can't get enough of. It leaves your mind spinning in wonder and your heart pounding with love. The Last Song2
May 30, 2016
Where do I start? The Last Song was a complete waste of my time. Nicolas Spark's adaptation is yet again another fail. Miley Cyrus was a complete knock-over in this film as her performance was horrendous. Her facial expressions; her way of speaking; her dialogue given was all just a complete mess. The film also falls into the trap of the romantic cliches: the boy meets girl; conflict commences; the break-up moment happens; there's a resolution and they live happily ever after. That's pretty much the entire film guys! Rating: 2/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

X-Men: Apocalypse8
May 30, 2016
X-Men: Apocalypse is probably the most underrated film of the year! With it's 47% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and it's 52 rating on Metacritic, shows us that critics exaggerated with their negativity. It achieves greatness within it's character development as it shows us an emotional depth that may even bring you to tears or just intrigue you. The highly-achievable, menacing performance by Oscar Isaac brings this film to a whole new level. He is one of my favorite villains of the Marvel universe and proves why here. Rating: 8/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

The Notebook7
May 20, 2016
Romance is the finest miracle life has to offer human beings. With the uncontrollable desire to love a solemate brings us that motivating force to wake up every morning and appreciate our time in life. The Notebook is the definition of adoration and love between two vastly beautiful individuals. It can tunnel into the inner core of our hearts and can stupidly play with our emotions. Though, it doesn't surpass the obvious cliches we would expect out of this genre. The playful dialouge, the breakup, and the reconciliation moment are all perfect examples of cliches this film possesss. The Notebook can be a hard film to watch; but it's definately worth your time! Rating: 7/10

Lost in Translation10
May 16, 2016
We've seen romance between people in their springtime of life or in their advanced years; but have we ever seen one side criss-cross each other to bring us an outlier of an age difference? "Lost in Translation" provides us with the heartwarming information that age does not matter in the context of love. When your lost in a contrasting environment, not only by the foreign atmosphere; by the internal conflict you are dealing with, there's no other option but to find that solemate that you can relate to and provide comfort with. This film is a complete masterpiece and probably one of greatest cinematic achievements of all time! Rating: 10/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Guardians of the Galaxy9
May 12, 2016
Guardians of the Galaxy is an action-packed thrill-ride that also has you gut-bursting laughing. Out of all the Marvel films, this is the most well-put together comic book adaptation. Unexpectedly, the performance by Chris Pratt was great as he simply dominates the role as Star-Lord. I was a little skeptical on the directional choice of James Gunn. He has a history of writing and directing bad or mediocre films such as Slither, Scooby-Doo, Super, and Dawn of the Dead. I guess I was extremely curious on what this man can accomplish and how he can overcome his mediocre films and create something mind-blowing. And he did! Rating: 9/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens8
May 9, 2016
Probably the most anticipated film of 2015; Star Wars: The Force Awakens was not only a box-office phenomenon; but a smash hit as well. JJ Abrams, who originally directed the Star Trek films, manages to create a work of art as it is a beauty to watch. It exceeded my expectations and definitely able to withstand a sequel -- after Rogue One. Rating: 8/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Captain America: The First Avenger6
May 8, 2016
The first installment of the Captain America franchise! The First Avenger was a very interesting film as it has a very compellig storyline of Steve Rogers forming into Captain America. It's directed by the director of the god-awful Jurassic Park 3. In this film, he manages to learn from his mistakes and create something that actually makes sense; as well as Chris Evans. He learned from his performance as the Human Torch in Fantastic Four and also created something that makes sense. He basically owns the role of Captain America as I can't imagine any one else that can replace him. The problems I have with the film are simple. The way they portrayed the World War II era was a little less horrifying than it actually was -- even though this is historical fiction. In addition, the antagonist, The Red Skull, was kind-of a noticable cliché. He didn't seem to have any moments that were off the charts; they were just... basic! Rating: 6/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Captain America: Civil War8
May 7, 2016
It seems as if each Captain America movie gets better and better. With the mediocre 'First Avenger' and the achievable 'Winter Soldier,' Captain America: Civil War tops both of them by a large margin. It may even be better than the original work of The Avengers; that's how great it was. The best achievement of this movie was the stunt work. The fight sequences were outstading as they looked amazing as ever. It looked almost impossible to do and I was very intrigued to see that they managed to pull it off smoothly. This was the second Marvel film of the Russo brothers and they will go on to do the next two Avenger movies. After their success here, I am extremly excited to see what they will accomplish moving forward. 8/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

The Dark Knight Rises9
May 4, 2016
Christopher Nolan has done it again with his Dark Knight trilogy! The Dark Knight Rises is a great sequel to an outstanding franchise -- maybe one of the best out there. The menacing portrayal of Bane was a key factor to making this film such a success. Tom Hardy, a great actor in general, really provided his character with a lot of intimidation which payed in the end as I was intimidated myself. Hans Zimmer score was phenominal -- as usual. The writing was great as the storyline eliminates the fact that this is a Batman movie and creates a more compelling and realistic masterpiece. This was great ending to an outstanding franchise and should be considered as one of the best! Rating: 9/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Batman Begins9
May 1, 2016
The fact that Christopher Nolan was able to transform the catastrophe that was Batman & Robin into a more reasonable superhero film is astounding to me. This wasn't a CGI mess that most superhero films format today. It was a realistic and dark film that actually has serious meanings and conflicts instead of somebody trying to demolish the world or conquer it. It's what filmmakers should've learned before making terrible films with the same genre. Christopher Nolan is one of my favorite directors because of this and he deserves to be recongnized as one of the best. Godzilla9
May 1, 2016
I hate the fact that people are complaining that Godzilla wasn't what they hoped for; that it isn't what they expected coming into the theater. As a fan of Godzilla, I thought this was a satisfying film and a CGI masterpiece. Gareth Edwards demonstrated that he has potential in Hollywood -- hopefully Rogue One is great as well. The performances were great by Ken Watanabe, David Strathairn, Elizabeth Olsen, and definately Bryan Cranston. I wasn't a big fan of Aaron Taylor-Johnson's character -- though it wasn't a huge problem. I was disappointed that it was snubbed for "best achievement in visual effects" from the Academy Awards as it simply was beautiful to watch. Rating : 9/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Fantastic Four0
May 1, 2016
Fantastic Four is not fantastic at all! This film is a complete mess; or you can just simply call it garbage. Everything you expect out of a terrible catastrophe, this film has: awful writing, god-awful acting performances, and unexpectly lazy because of how short it is. I have nothing more to say but to call this film GARBAGE. Don't waste your money buying this **** on Blu-ray because you'd have a better time with the original! Rating: 0/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Zootopia8
Apr 30, 2016
Zootopia was a film that I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know whether I was going to come out of the theater with a smile or a frown on my face. Zootopia was a great film! It's plot is very creative and unique that I was so fascinated by it's atmosphere; a New York City transformation into a more animal-like environment. In addition, the protagonist, Judy Hopps' conflicts that she struggles with are very emotional and deep. This creates a more intense experience for a animated film that only possesses a "PG" by the MPAA. I think Zootopia is up for an Oscar nomination for "best animated film," or maybe something better! This is definately one of the years best films so far. Rating: 8/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice3
Apr 30, 2016
I've only seen this film once; but it's enough to realize how much of a disappointment Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was. It starts out brilliantly and very compelling. As soon as the climax makes it's appearence, the film disintegrates like it was blown out of a fire. It's lazy writing is a huge example of that; it doesnt't have a balanced storyline. Lets just say that the entire movie was a setup for a sequel -- that's how bad the writing was. The film does have some positive factors. Ben Affleck portrayal as Bruce Wayne/Batman was excellent. He truely demonstrated that his Daredevil performance has been forgotten and demolished. Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman was fine. Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman was fine. This is a good-looking film; but not a good film in general. Rating: 3/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Argo9
Apr 29, 2016
Argo is a film that was directed, starred, and produced by Ben Affleck and he surprisingly did an amazing job. The way this film is crafted is incredibly realistic. It was an intense historically accurate film that I enjoyed very much. This film can teach you a lot about Iran in your tenth grade Global, Social Studies class. Rating: 9/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Kung Fu Panda 36
Apr 29, 2016
Kung Fu Panda 3 is the third installment of it's franchise. There were things that I liked and there were things that I didn't like about the film. What I liked about it was there were terrific voice acting performances by most of the actors. It's animation was beautifully crafted -- as usually -- and that is what I loved the most about this film. In addition, the score of Hans Zimmer was fantastic; it made the movie a whole lot more fun and exciting. What disappointed me was many things. How Po's character changed from this mature, funny panda into a more adolescent type of panda. It kinda took away the seriousness the film poccesses at certain points which was conflicts with the new antagonist, Kai. The other thing is that the jokes fall flat. I didn't really laugh as much as I did with other two films. There were a few giggles now and then; but I cracked up on the other films. This was due to the unnecessary fast pace of the film. Kung Fu Panda is a good movie; but not better than the originals. Rating: 6/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0

Deadpool4
Apr 28, 2016
Deadpool was a film that I was anticipating all of 2015. I had expectations that did exceed and some did not -- but got something better instead. The thing that I loved about Deadpool is that it is a great adaptation of the comic books. That funny, invincible mutant that we rooted for in the comics is in this film as well. Ryan Reynolds is not the greatest actor in the world; but he did give a mediocre performance here and went beyond the X-Men Origins: Wolverine like Ben Affleck overcoming Daredevil with Batman. This film does have a ton of problems and as a result; it drastically crumbles. First, Deadpool's inappropriate jokes go way over the top. I'd suggest them swipe away anything that has to do with "sex" or "today's social media sensations." Second, I feel as if the entire subplots were rushed. Including the romance between Deadpool and Copycat. One moment they're having intimate conversations; than the next moment their having sex which is incredibly uncomfortable. Third, the film seems entirely small as it looks as if it is in that same highway location throughout the entire film -- or at least in the fight sequences. Mainly because of the film's low budget. Should Deadpool be considered as one of the greatest superhero films of all time? I dont think so! Rating: 4/10 A+ = 10 A = 9 A- = 8 B+ = 7 B = 6 B- = 5 C+ = 4 C = 3 C- = 2.5 D+ = 2 D = 1.5 D- = 1 F = 0
