Armageddon

Armageddon is as irresistible as it's indefensible.

It might make you tense, it might make you nauseous, and its clangorous roar could well give you a migraine headache.

Armageddon is a testosterone and adrenaline cocktail, with almost no intelligence added for flavoring.

Trying to pick faults with a sound-and-spectacle juggernaut like Armageddon is like taking an ant gun to an elephant: All the movie's staggering conventional weaknesses -- ludicrous plot, weak characterization, incomprehensible staging and ambient racket -- are irrelevant.

Director Michael Bay's filmmaking style is so frantic and frenetic that it's often impossible to figure out exactly what is happening.

There are barrages of fast cuts to distract us from the fact that the director is showing us no real action.

How do I hate Armageddon? Let me count the ways.

I like the side plot of the guy and his child. The visual is impressive for a movie at its time. They have a lot of intense scenes that keep you engaged. The story could be better and more arranged. Some dialog is cheesy and corny. The love story between the young guy and the girl kind of diverted the show from the main character. The woman acting in this movie is weak. Some of her scenes cut the intense scene, which kind of pisses me off. The main guy said he needs a team he can trust, but his men goof around and do not even follow his orders. Overall, I enjoy the movie.

Armageddon follows the rules of the kind of filmmaking, where the creators want their audience to sit on the edge of their seats, but they went to far with this, which caused boredom in a lot of scenes. On the other hand the film is very emotional, which makes me like the movie. The characters are very stereotypical, the protective dad, the daughter fallen in love with the reckless, cool guy. On the other hand, the government people and their actions are very realistic and dark. The visual effects looked very good, the sound effects were also great. Cinematography and editing was mediocre. Armageddon is sometimes boring, but also emotional.

A space-related blockbuster from Michael **** plot is interesting at first sight but quickly becomes very similar to any movie of the Fast & Furious franchise (without any car of course): a random team get hired to do the dirty so-called impossible job, there is a love story making the progression more difficult and emotional, they are regular humans but with some incredible resistance when the scenario needs them **** intersting cast, the decent CGI, intersting environments and the great score (thanks to Aerosmith) simply couldn't prevent 'Armageddon' to get mediocre. Characters are huge stereotypes, they don't evolve at all excpted the very central ones, their acting is quite bad. The movie has a weird pace, that becomes even worse as the movie eventually comes to its end. Actions scenes are disorganised and confused. There are major plot holes. It's obviously America-centered. Female protagonists are only there for the romance or the striptease shots.Brainless, overly long and desperately trying to get entertaining.
