The Agency season 2 opens the door for the show's next chapter to be its grittiest and darkest yet, which is saying something, and that is what makes the spy series must-watch TV.

Things may come to a head slowly in this second endeavor, but once the explosive secrets each of these characters harbors begin to fester, nothing can stop them from igniting.

Season 2 is much better than Season 1. The script is far better developed, it really held my attention, with great plot twists, clues pointing in various directions, and much more focus on the supporting cast and subplots. The finale left things somewhat open-ended, I hope it gets renewed for a Season 3 cause watching Michael Fassbender, Jeffrey Wright, and Richard Gere act is a real satisfactory. Also worth highlighting (in both seasons) are the brilliant performances by Katherine Waterston and Saura Lightfoot-Leon. And please, Paramount+, if there is a Season 3, get rid of the character of Dr. Samia Fatima 'Sami' Zahir, she is annoying, tedious, and boring, and adds nothing of value to the plot.

Season 2 has a more compelling set of antagonists compared to Season 1. I think that overall it's a better season actually. I've seen some critics say that the Samia character is less important - she is a bit - so what. Things change.

The truth is there are no bad performances here—just the occasional actor straining against an underwritten villain, a product of a show with more than a dozen characters to track across the world, and the writer’s choice to rarely give us their POV.

The Agency returns for a much stronger second season that improves on many of the show’s previous shortcomings, even if its slow-burn approach might not be for everyone.

The series is mostly slow-paced and intricate. .... It's one of those dramas with a sleek, business-class feel that you can sink into if you're prepared to make the effort.

Just like during its first season, The Agency should be more than what it is, given its cast and the contemplative style. It’s not, but it’s entertaining enough for fans of the espionage genre to watch while doing other things around the house.

Season 2 feels like a regression. She’s [Sami's] given little to do other than go where she’s told and pop up when Martian needs a reminder of what makes him human, which doesn’t do much to serve the second season’s other major shift: Where once there was a show about how much it sucks to be a spy, now there’s a show trying to explain why these brave men and women do on the job anyway.

They really jump the shark here in season 2. - Terrible plot contrivances. so much and then and then writing really takes you out of the believability. - Bad guys are so dumb just to move the plot where the creators want it to go. Some good guys have moments of insane plot armor. - I'd say if you liked season 1 then season 2 might still be watchable for you. - I cannot recommend this show to a new viewer unless they prefer mindless action moments. - Only giving it one more point because the actors are above average.
