Far too many levels of crafting! You can't build anything until you build builder's kits. To build those you have to find one of 3 trees on the island with vines growing around them, and 19 animals kill you in the process. The game wiki is very sparse and the complication level is massive.

Love the idea of this game - survive a shipwreck, gather resources and craft items and improve your skill tree. Also an interesting story line to follow. However the resource management is too challenging - got to the second island and realised that I needed to build a brand new base (or make repeated trips back to the first) which is a chore so gave up.

Amazing survival game. It's like Ark mixed with Windwaker. I hadn't heard of it at all until I tried it and was very pleasantly surprised.

Survival engine: best I have ever seen
Basebuilding, exploring, all thrilling
Different items animals: plenty
Roleplayimg: excellent skilling and leveling mechanic
Difficulty: raising slowly, never frustrating
Technics: graphics very nice, music not sufficient, sounds okay
Story: motivating, good. Only 3 bosses, but different mechanics. Lore and setting nicely Elaborated.
Best Survival game since Subnautica.

Survival: Fountain of Youth is full of interesting ideas and great moments, but also some polarizing mechanics and jank. If you can tough it through the game’s slow start and learning curve, it will surely pull you in and give you a memorable experience despite its flaws.
