Its basically everything HP fan might want from a game and then some more. Not without flaws, but really they don't matter much. Better than part 1, simply because its not as painfully linear. Sure, Midgar in OG FF7 was linear too, but it was small part of the game. The Rebirth offers amazingly redone locations, fantastic soundtrack (for the most part... mainly rearragments of Uematsu music) but everything that ties it together it butchers, ruining best scenes and key moments that had incredible impact in the original game.

If you want to be positive, you can say there is a good skeleton for a game here. Otherwise, it's just another failure. Yes, the artstyle is nice, the story certainly better than D3, cutscenes are pretty good... but ultimately that doesn't matter much in a game like this. What matters is loot and the way you progress. It mostly **** here for now.

Very good effort, it's a nice combination of old levels (1 and 2) with some of the best TH controls (things like revert are there, everything up to Undeground I think). Levels look great and they did a good job leaving them mostly untouched in their structure but still adding enough detail so they don't seem empty. A lot of the good old soundtrack is also there (not all). Unfortunately, park creator is messed up. You can make quite nice parks actually but you might also lose them randomly because whole things behaves like that.

I like the idea (but its not neccesarly original, its basically SPC foundation: the game) but I've got a lot of problems with the execution. Game is clunky, not always pleasant to look at, full of boring combat and just too sensational/emotional for my taste (It could use some more lowkey mystery feel/ logic behind it).

Flawed game for sure, but you probably gonna love it. The scale is still there, battles got a bit more streamlined and nobody shouts "Monado" every ten seconds, buuut... game will probably make you mad few times anyway, it likes to put obstacles before you and if you gonna ignore a lot of stuff that seems optional at first you might be **** later on. The story is a mixed bad to me, but it did made me want to see whats next and finish the game.

Started playing at 1.5 - at this point I think I had like two obvious bugs, maybe I was just lucky. Anyway, the game itself is fairly bombastic, if you want to shoot, slash and ride cars and bikes in a futuristic city, they got you covered. All the other stuff including rpg mechanics really feels like its just there for the sake of it and there just wasn't enough time to do it properly.

The game is kinda... too perfect? I know how that sounds, it's just that feeling you get from it that it was destined to succeed on every front and Spider Man always felt campy... To be fair I can feel that Insomniac did though about it and tried as hard as they could to make the game give these cozy, personal and not too serious vibes but you can only do so much in an AAA open world game. I don't really like the menus, they are generic in their nature, just like many other AAA games and frankly, the font is sometimes too small. But my biggest problem with the game is probably combat, I really don't like this Batman style fighting, its not that fun and gets tiring quickly. But looking at the game as objectively as I can, they did such a great job in so many areas. The city is amazing and its open world nature did not stop the devs from putting fairly satisfying amount of details in the streets, the animations and web swinging - simply fantastic. The characters look really good and not like empty shells. Spiderman does his usual little jokes here and there, even menus, as generic as they are in their form are full of little details that give them just that little bit of personality. I don't think Spiderman fans could ask for anything better really. But somehow I had norÄ™ fun playing Spiderman for PS1.

It's actually fun game with a pretty good map and neat character development system. The basic gameplay loop is satisfying enough, the problem is, they want you to pay for it like for an mmo, but offer nowhere near enough new content, the endgame is basically just grinding weapons and stuff for your house, if you are into building you can easly read this review as 8 instead, just keep in mind, a lot of the good stuff is in atom shop and sooner or later you will want to pay.

The game is fine and user reviews are greatly exaggerated, you know what you getting here before you even start it and it does just that - it very much looks and plays like X/Y, just at higher resolution. There is a wild area which is sort of a bridge to full 3d title we are getting soon and yes it lags in online mode, besides that the world is mostly linear, but with a fair amount of detail. Not every pokemon made it, even after the expansions and that **** but you still have plenty to play with. I would say go for it if you had a long break and need to scratch that itch, otherwise its not a must play.

Persona 5

User ScoreSitheral
Mar 7, 2021
Persona 5 does such an exeptional job in so many areas that it feels sad to give it anything other than 10, but I have to, simply because the story and characters are above everything else in jrpgs for me. There is a ton of text in the script here, but it doesn't translate into vivid, emotional experience. Persona paints beatiful picture, but it paints it with style, brave (but smart!) use of colors, themes, transitions, it does try to be clever or funny with its text, but more often than not it doesn't work all that well, perhaps the translation is weak, but I don't think it should take all the blame. And for every thing it executes with brillance, you can find it equally as boring and unimaginative at times. For example: every single time you make a new social link, you get the scene with your interrogator asking you about said connection, it's boring, always the same and serves little purpose other than reminding you about that part of the narrative, you literally know what's going to happen and what will be said, is there any worse sin in a storytelling? Not enough for you? How about Morgana telling you that need to sleep almost every evening, pissing you off because you wanted to actually do something with your time (this is largely fixed in the Royal). Exploration kind of begs for a bit more too, interaction is limited and areas are usually very small. Huge part of dialog choices contains literally three versions of what is essentially the same statement. Well, there is a lot stuff like that. But Persona 5 still managed to steal my heart. I can't recall any game with more style. Music is fantastic, batlles are fun and its easy to sink in this world for long hours. Maybe that's the problem too, Persona wants to be as long as possible and it certainly manages to do that. The question is, does it compromise on the quality because of that? I think it does. If you never played it, I would pick Royal edition, it adds a lot of neat things and about the only con I can thing of is that it seems less challenging, but that's only because you have so many options to improve here.

Pretty solid effort, for the most part the story is FF7, so you can't go wrong here. Midgar is stunning and the combat feels allright. Materia system is there and works much like you would expect, with the exception of summons as you can't use them anytime now. Shame there is not much to do after you are done with the story. Few chapters are basically fillers which is pretty dissapointing considering it was a fantastic opportunity to meaningfully expand the universe and characters even more. Since this is only part one, but costs a full price and takes about 40 hours, I don't think its too much to ask.

The worst in the series, ZTD still has moments when it shines and charms you with its way of telling the story, but overall its rather disappointing. This time it went for full 3d and tried to be more cinematic in the cutscenes, it didn't work, probably a budget thing, but ZE was always a very static game anyway. The biggest problem is that there is just not enough clever ideas here and especially considering that this game ends the trilogy, it doesn't really have that punch to end it with a bang. But its cool that it was made at all because it wasn't obvious and fans probably should go for it anyway, it doesn't seem like there will be more ZE anytime soon.

With all the patches and the expansion, this game is easly 6, maybe even 7. However, this page is for base game only, so when I remember playing it at launch, it wasn't what I expected, to put it mildly. Gone was the atmosphere, randomness of locations (there is some of it, just not enough to really see it as random), really most of the depth from previous games. The story was as awful as it gets, with villains repeating that I will never beat them shortly before I do, all in cute comic like windows with avatars. But there was a satisfying combat system. To this day there is no real pvp (give me a break with this arena...) and really, the whole process of improving this game wasnt a pretty sight to watch.

For newcomers it will be great, but I was kind of disappointed by it. Game takes Clank from you and really doesn't offer anything that would be on par with him. Levels are made with new hoverboots in mind and that means more space with less stuff in it. There is some kind of bloom everywhere and it looks pretty bad. On top of that, Ratchet goes for a more serious story that really is the last thing a game like this needs. At least Clank levels have some clever puzzles and I love those little asteroids in space that you can land on.

Almost every bit as good as the original, this one focuses more on a shooting and basically adds rpg elements that let you level up your weapons making the whole process even more satysfying, but at the same time it sacrifices bits of platforming action. There is so much content here its crazy, but I think levels from the first one were more memorable overall. Going commando introduces the kind of grinding levels, bascially a whole lot of boring space just to look for stuff that gets you a lot of money, which is kind of a time waster.

Its the best and at the same time, the worst, the best because it has all the important additions from 2 and builds on top of that with stuff as crazy as other playable characters! So why its the worst? Because it lacks the polish 2 had and playing other characters, as fun as it might be always feels worse than playing Spyro.
